RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -
A nurses' assistant at a Virginia nursing home will go to prison for selling wedding rings that were stripped from the fingers of veterans under her care.
24-year-old Ashley Michelle Sweeney of Franklin County was sentenced to five years by a Roanoke court.
Sweeney said she pawned four wedding bands taken from Virginia veterans in order to support her drug addiction.
She was ordered never to work as a nurse or nurses' assistant again.
