Flashback – Maxine Waters Complained Obama Didn’t Rid Bush-era U.S. Attorneys Fast Enough

thegatewaypundit ^ | Cristina Laila

California Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters complained that Barrack Obama didn’t get rid of Bush-era U.S. attorneys fast enough back in May of 2009.

Maxine Waters: “As we understand it, the protocol has been that U.S. attorneys hand in their resignations and would give the new administration an opportunity to make new appointments, we don’t see that happening quite fast enough.”

The fake news media has been wringing their hands over Sessions’ request for Obama-era attorneys to resign as if it’s something that has never been done before. This was standard operating procedure after Obama became President. They also failed to mention that Bill Clinton fired 93 U.S. attorneys in one day in 1993.

If it weren’t for double standards, the Democrats wouldn’t have any standards at all.

Snip Obamacare's monopolistic strings, let the free market compete!

March 13, 2017 | Jim Robinson

The only way I'd be happy with a non repeal of Obamacare is if the president and the secretary can snip the unconstitutional monopolistic strings that prohibit free enterprise from providing competing solutions. Someone suggested leaving Obamacare basically intact for those who choose to provide or subscribe to it, but allow new free market solutions to rise up and compete. That's not a bad idea to break the stalemate.
My understanding is the Obamacare law leaves many decisions for the president and the HHS secretary to make. During the rollout and throughout the remaining years of Obama's term, the president and the secretary made many, many changes and adjustments to the plan without requiring congressional approval. This is the precedent. So the current president and the current secretary should exercise that precedent and their constitutional and legal authority to make further adjustments to make healthcare more affordable and available to more people at less cost to the government and less cost to the people. The left shouldn't be allowed to win a constitutional argument against covering more people with more choices and less cost and less government intrusion, ie, more freedom with free markets. That's the American way.
For example, they should gently snip any unconstitutional prohibitions on existing or new insurance companies from starting NEW free market plans to compete with existing government mandated plans.
Nothing illegal or unconstitutional there.
Next, very carefully snip any mandate that says individuals must be covered by a government approved plan rather than a new free market plan of their choice. Likewise, carefully snip any mandate that prohibits employers from providing free markets plans of their choice to their employees. Snip the mandates on what must be covered by NEW free market plans. Let the buyers and sellers negotiate coverage plans. Snip any unconstitutional mandate the prohibits nationwide competition (commerce). Snip any government prohibition on associations forming groups to negotiate insurance plans. Snip any prohibition on health savings plans. Let the congress set up provisions for individual health savings plans. Let the congress make health care premiums tax deductible, if they wish, for individuals, entrepreneurs and small business.
Nothing illegal or unconstitutional there.
Let the decisions on what is covered and the price of coverage be freely negotiated between willing buyers and sellers.
Novel approach, eh? LOL. Think it'd pass constitutional muster? You betcha.
Sure, they'd fight like hell in court. But the president should fight back like hell. He'll have the people and the constitution on his side and he will win.

14 Freeloader Muslims in Baltimore ARRESTED for $16 MILLION in Welfare Fraud

Freedom Daily ^ | Sept 2016 | staff

Welfare fraud is a bigger problem than liberals want you to believe.

Food Stamp benefits costed $74.1 billion in 2014 and supplied roughly 46.5 million Americans with benefits, which comes out to an average of $125.35 for each person per month in food assistance. Even a fraud rate of under 5% amounts to billions in wasted funds. The most popular method of food stamp fraud isn’t fraudulently claiming benefits, it’s recipients trading in their cards for a fraction of their face value for cash.
Luckily, the government has actually made some wise steps in counteracting that kind of fraud. Back in April, the USDA passed a rule that allows states the option to require SNAP recipients to make contact with the state when there have been an excessive number of requests for EBT card replacements in a year. Requesting excessive replacement cards can indicate that a client is exchanging SNAP cards for cash or other prohibited items.
On the other hand, it doesn’t take many people to do millions of dollars worth of damage when the system is abused in a major manner. In a recent story out of Baltimore, fourteen people were arrested in raids that related to a total of $16 million in food stamp fraud.

In 2017 women and minorities are buying guns. Here's why

Fox News ^ | March 13, 2017 | John R Lott Jr

During the 8 years he was president, Barack Obama’s administration experienced an explosion in gun sales, with annual background checks more than doubling between 2008 and 2016. In the eighteen months leading up to the 2016 election, gun sales set one new record after another.
So when a pro-Second Amendment candidate won the election most observers figured that gun sales would at last begin to drop. But it hasn’t worked out that way.
Conventional wisdom held that the sharp rise in gun sales over the course of Obama’s presidency was supposedly driven, at least in part, by the threat of gun control. That’s why everyone expected gun sales to decline after Trump’s victory. Yet, the average monthly gun sales from November through February are up from the already very high level in October.
In fact, there was a large increase in gun sales immediately following the election. November had a record-setting month for FBI background checks. On Black Friday, there was a single day record of 185,713 checks. While December sales were not quite at record levels, they were still the second highest monthly total ever. January’s and February’s sales data slipped below last January’s and February’s, but they were still the second highest January and February sales on record.
Anecdotal stories right after the election suggested that people — particularly minorities — might be buying guns out of fear of a Trump presidency. The National African-American Gun Association saw a 7% increase in members just over the Thanksgiving weekend. NBC News contacted gun storeowners who reported seeing up to four times as many black and minority customers. The Liberal Gun Club says that its membership is up 10%.
There were other signs that gun control was losing popularity. . . .

Hillary Clinton's team met with Russian ambassador, says Kremlin spokesman!

The Telegraph (U.K.) ^ | 3/313/2017 | Harriet Alexander

(Full article title: Hillary Clinton's team met with Russian ambassador, says Kremlin spokesman, as he warns against 'hysteria')

Hillary Clinton’s team members met with the Russian ambassador during the election as well as Donald Trump’s, the Kremlin spokesman has alleged, as he set out to dismiss the “hysteria” surrounding Mr Trump’s links to Russia.
The house intelligence committee will hold its first session on Russia on March 20, with the heads of the FBI, national security agency and CIA expected to appear, plus previous intelligence chiefs.
But Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for Vladimir Putin, said on Sunday that America was “self-humiliating” in insisting that Russia hacked its election.
And he defended the actions of their ambassador, Sergey Kislyak, whose meeting with Michael Flynn, Mr Trump’s choice of national security adviser, caused Mr Flynn to lose his job. He was fired after just 24 days when it became clear that he had lied about meeting the Russian, and misled the vice president.
“This is his job,” said Mr Peskov, speaking on CNN’s Sunday morning politics show. “He was talking about bilateral relations, about what is going on in the United States, so we have a better understanding in Moscow.
“This is what happens all around the world.”
He said that members of Mrs Clinton’s team had also met with Mr Kislyak, although he did not give specifics.
“Well, if you look at some people connected with Hillary Clinton during her campaign, you would probably see that he had lots of meetings of that kind,” he said. “There are lots of specialists in politology, people working in think tanks advising Hillary or advising people working for Hillary.”
Mrs Clinton's team is yet to comment on the allegations.

16 Reasons Not To Live In California

16 Reasons Not To Live In California
TEC ^ | 03/12/2017 | Michael Snyder
Posted on 3/12/2017, 10:23:01 PM by SeekAndFind

Authored by Michael Snyder via The Economic Collapse blog,

It has been said that “as California goes, so goes the nation”.  That is why it is such a shame what is happening to that once great state.  At one time, California seemed to be the epicenter of the American Dream.  Featuring some of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the entire world, the gorgeous weather and booming economy of the state inspired people from all over the world to move to the state.  But now people are moving out of the state by the millions, because life in California has literally become a nightmare for so many people.
I certainly don’t have anything against the state personally.  My brother and sister were both born there, and I spent a number of my childhood years in stunning northern California.  When I was younger I would sometimes dream of getting a place on the coast eventually, but for reasons I will discuss below I no longer think that would be advisable.
In fact, if I was living in California today I would be immediately looking for a way to move out of the state unless I specifically felt called to stay.  The following are 16 reasons why you shouldn’t live in California…
#1 The entire California coastline is part of the “Ring of Fire” seismic zone that roughly encircles the Pacific Ocean.  The San Andreas Fault has been described as a “time bomb“, and at some point there will be a catastrophic earthquake that absolutely devastates the entire region.  In fact, a study that was just released says that a “major earthquake” on the San Andreas Fault “is way overdue” …
A recently published study reveals new evidence that a major earthquake is way overdue on a 100 mile stretch of the San Andreas Fault from the Antelope Valley to the Tejon Pass and beyond.

Researchers with the U.S. Geological Survey released the results of the years-long study warning a major earthquake could strike soon.
#2 Out of all 50 states, the state of California has been ranked as the worst state for business for 12 years in a row
In what is sounding like a broken record, California once again ranked dead last in Chief Executive magazine’s annual Best and Worst States for Business survey of CEOs – as it has all 12 years the survey has been conducted. Texas, meanwhile, earned the top spot for the 12th straight year.

Among the survey’s subcategories, the 513 CEOs from across the nation ranked California 50th in taxation and regulation, 35th in workforce quality and 26th in living environment, which includes cost of living, the education system and state and local attitudes toward business. Notably, California placed worst among the nine states in the Western region in all three categories.
#3 California has the highest state income tax rates in the entire nation.  For many Americans, the difference between what you would have to pay if you lived in California and what you would have to pay if you lived in Texas could literally buy a car every single year.
#4 The state government in Sacramento seems to go a little bit more insane with each passing session.  This time around, they are talking about going to a single-payer healthcare system for the entire state that would cost California taxpayers 40 billion dollars a year
On Friday, State Senator Ricardo Lara introduced legislation that would transition California’s healthcare into a single-payer system. (RELATED: Read what a retired colonel said about the real purpose of Obamacare). The system would be very similar to the healthcare system currently in place in Canada and would cost California taxpayers roughly $40 billion for the first year alone. Given the poor economic climate California has already created for itself, this will no doubt be just one more burden on the people of California, and one step closer towards total bankruptcy.

Micah Weinberg, the president of the Economic Institute at the Bay Area Council, raised concerns over the financial consequences of the proposed legislation. “Where are they going to come up with the $40 billion?” he asked. He went on to suggest that adopting a state level single-payer system is “just not feasible to do as a state.”
#5 The traffic in the major cities just keeps getting worse and worse.  According to USA Today, Los Angeles now has the worst traffic in the entire world, and San Francisco is not far behind.
#6 A lot of money is being made in Silicon Valley these days (at least for now), but poverty is also exploding in the state.  In desperation, homeless people are banding together to create large tent cities all over the state, and the L.A. City Council recently asked Governor Jerry Brown “to declare homelessness a statewide emergency“.
#7 Thanks to unchecked illegal immigration, crime is on the rise in many California cities.  The drug war that has been raging for years in Mexico is increasingly spilling over the border, and many families have moved out of the state for this reason alone.
#8 California is one of the most litigious states in the entire nation.  According to the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform, the “lawsuit climate” in California is ranked 47th out of all 50 states.
#9 Every year wildfires and mudslides wreak havoc in the state.  Erosion is particularly bad along the coast, and I have previously written about how some portions of the California coastline are literally falling into the ocean.
#10 California has some of the most ridiculous housing prices in the entire country.  Due to a lack of affordable housing rents have soared to wild extremes in San Francisco, where one poor engineer was actually paying $1,400 a month to live in a closet.
#11 All over the state, key infrastructure is literally falling to pieces.  Governor Jerry Brown recently issued a list of key projects that needed to be done as soon as possible, and the total price tag for that list was 100 billion dollars.  Of course that list didn’t even include the Oroville Dam, and we all saw what happened there.
#12 Radiation from the ongoing Fukushima nuclear disaster continues to cross the ocean and wash up along the California coastline.  The impact of this crisis on the health of those living along the west coast could potentially be felt for generations.
#13 Illegal drug use in the state is on the rise again, and emergency rooms are being flooded by heroin overdose victims.
#14 On top of everything else, it is being reported that Russia is “quietly ‘seeding’ the U.S. shoreline with nuclear ‘mole’ missiles”.  The following comes from retired colonel and former Russian defense ministry spokesman Viktor Baranetz
“What are these mysterious ‘asymmetrical responses’ that our politicians and generals speak about so often? Maybe it’s a myth or a pretty turn of phrase? No! Our asymmetrical response is nuclear warheads that can modify their course and height so that no computer can calculate their trajectory. Or, for example, the Americans are deploying their tanks, airplanes and special forces battalions along the Russian border. And we are quietly ‘seeding’ the U.S. shoreline with nuclear ‘mole’ missiles (they dig themselves in and ‘sleep’ until they are given the command)[…]

“Oh, it seems I’ve said too much. I should hold my tongue.”
Hopefully what Baranetz is claiming is not accurate, because if it is even partly true the implications are absolutely staggering.
#15 North Korea is a major nuclear threat as well.  It is being reported that the North Koreans are developing an ICBM that could potentially reach the west coast of the United States…
Defense officials have warned that North Korea is on the brink of producing an ICBM that could target the United States. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un announced in January during his New Year’s address that Pyongyang had “entered the final stage of preparations to test-launch” an ICBM that could reach parts of the United States.
#16 Someday a very large earthquake will produce a major tsunami on the west coast.  According to the Los Angeles Times, one study found that a magnitude 9.0 earthquake along the Cascadia fault could potentially produce a massive tsunami that would “wash away coastal towns”…
If a 9.0 earthquake were to strike along California’s sparsely populated North Coast, it would have a catastrophic ripple effect.

giant tsunami created by the quake would wash away coastal towns, destroy U.S. 101 and cause $70 billion in damage over a large swath of the Pacific coast. More than 100 bridges would be lost, power lines toppled and coastal towns isolated. Residents would have as few as 15 minutes notice to flee to higher ground, and as many as 10,000 would perish.

Scientists last year published this grim scenario for a massive rupture along the Cascadia fault system, which runs 700 miles off shore from Northern California to Vancouver Island.
Over the past decade, approximately five million people have moved away from California.
After reading this article, perhaps you have a better understanding why so many people are getting out while they still can.
Once again, I don’t have anything against California or the people that live there.  It is such a beautiful place, and it once held so much promise.
Unfortunately that promise has been shattered, and there is a mass exodus out of the state as families flee the horrific nightmare that California is in the process of becoming.

In Case You Missed It Dept.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from investigating Russian ties to the Trump campaign Thursday. He's on the hot seat. Democrats are so determined to impeach Jeff Sessions for talking to the Russian ambassador that they've forgotten to impeach him for being a Confederate.

Capitol Hill broke into a partisan witch hunt Thursday for any Trump Administration official who ever spoke to a Russian. Everyone's under close scrutiny. Ivanka Trump admitted she once heckled Yakov Smirnov in Branson, and Democrats are demanding that she resign as First Daughter.

Barack Obama reportedly disseminated intelligence on Jeff Sessions' meeting with Russians to government officials and reporters before he left office. It looks catty. Jeff Sessions was a curious choice for Attorney General to begin with because he's had no experience running guns into Mexico.

Barack Obama is being publicly lobbied by a Paris political group to run for the presidency of France. He can't legally run now because he's not French. However Obama supporters are trying to change the French constitution to allow presidential candidates who were born in the U.S. or Kenya.

Russia's U.S. Ambassador Sergey Kislyak had an open social calendar all weekend as no one in Washington will talk to him. It spread to Hollywood. Backstage at the Comedy Store Friday, Yakov Smirnov tried to make eye contact with me, but I averted his glance and looked the other way.

President Trump's allies said Sunday that President Obama's Justice Department wire-tapped the Trump election headquarters to try to help elect Hillary Clinton. That's our gal. You start out your public career forty-two years ago investigating Richard Nixon and you end it by channeling him.

Barbra Streisand tweeted President Trump is making her fat because she takes out her anger toward him during the CNN morning news by eating pancakes soaked in honey butter. She's just written a new book about strength. It's her tribute to the capacity of yoga pants to withstand anything.

President Trump counterattacked against Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi's attacks on Jeff Sessions by tweeting pictures of them with the Kremlin's U.S. ambassador. How nasty could this get? The Democrats were just reminded the Lewinsky family originally came to the United States from Russia.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions stepped aside from any investigation about the Trump campaign's contacts with Russia last fall. The paranoia is spreading. In Hollywood, Bullwinkle Moose just admitted he spoke with Boris and Natasha and he has agreed to recuse himself from the next cartoon.

Barack Obama was photographed in public for the first time since he left office Sunday as he left a charity event in New York. He gave the camera a big smile. Even if it turns out his Justice Department did wiretap President Trump, he's confident that he can still run the country from prison.

Barbra Streisand blamed her weight gain on all the pancakes she eats to salve her anger while watching the morning news. The Democrats are splitting apart. BLM activists were just arrested for plotting to blow up Jewish centers, now Streisand launches an unprovoked attack on Aunt Jemima.

President Trump drew rave reviews from U.S. business leaders after their White House meeting this past week. He's nothing if not considerate. Every time President Trump picks up the phone and orders in Chinese food he remembers to look into the mouthpiece and ask Barack if he wants anything.

President Trump's new travel ban allows Iraqis into the U.S. but it bans anyone trying to enter the U.S. from Somalia, Yemen, Libya, Syria and Iran. The idea is to stop terrorists from direct entry into the U.S. Now they will have to go to a truck stop in Mexico and wait their turn like everybody else.

Wikileaks released proof showing the CIA stole Russian malware, allowing the CIA to mimic Russian hackers and now no one knows who hacked who last year. This could help the Democrats recover. The first step in Trumpoholics Anonymous is to admit you lost the election fair and square.

The CIA hunted for leakers after Wikileaks revealed they can spy on foreign agents through their smart-phones. They're outraged that somebody leaked secret information they stole in the first place. It's like the prostitute who told the judge she decided she'd been raped when the check bounced.

The New York Times says Barack Obama is irked and aggravated by the charges by President Trump that Obama bugged his Trump Tower campaign office phone just before the election. He's acting guiltier by the day. He's just vowed to spend the rest of his life looking for the real wire-tapper.

President Trump called Senator Rand Paul from the Oval Office to push for the GOP health care bill. It was just Trump and Senator Paul on the line, plus the CIA, the NSA, Barack and the Russians. Whenever Trump calls Domino's, it's like ordering pizza for an entire fraternity house.

Fox News cited a jobs survey saying three hundred-forty-six thousand jobs were created in the U.S. during President Trump's first month in office. And that excludes paid protestors. Whistling Dixie is when CNN commentators complain it's going to be a long four years under President Trump.

The GOP health care bill rolled out this week ends the ten percent Obamacare tax on tanning salon sessions that helped fund Obamacare. Trump has reversed Obama's Mexican border policy and now he's ending Obama's ten percent excise tax on indoor tanning sessions. Leave it to Democrats to help brown people become Americans and then tax Americans who want to become browner people.

House Republicans split over the American Health Care Act rolled out by Speaker Ryan this week. Conservatives called it Obamacare Lite. The phones lines on Capitol Hill were so tied up by angry callers that lawmakers had to use their own cell phones to place their NCAA tournament bets.

-- Argus Hamilton

A group of Republicans revealed their plan to repeal and replace Obamacare. Pete Sessions has a healthcare plan of his own. I do know a catchy title when I see one. He calls it -- this is 100 percent real -- he calls it the world's greatest healthcare plan of 2017. You can't vote no on the world's greatest healthcare plan of 2017. You'd have to be an idiot. This guy is smart.
