Great Once Again ^ | January 18, 2017 | Governor Matt Bevin

This week our nation will experience a wonderful American political tradition, as we witness the peaceful transfer of executive power. The new President will assume office riding a wave of voter enthusiasm not seen since Reagan. For an accurate barometer of that enthusiasm, one should look beyond even the popular vote totals and the Electoral College. The Republican Party now holds 33 Governor’s offices, 32 State Legislatures, and has control of both legislative branches and the Governorship in 24 states. This week’s inauguration is the epitome of America’s rejection of the liberal brand of false hope and negative change. Instead, the people are passionate about the potential for positive change that President Trump represents.
In many ways, the President-Elect has defied both political and conservative orthodoxy. Some still marvel that a candidate who defied conventional political wisdom will soon take the oath of office. As one who ran against the grain in my own state and defied the polls to win election handily, I don’t find his success at all baffling. In order to understand the President-Elect, one needs look no further than his slogan and central promise to “Make America Great Again.”
That slogan has been derided by some. “Apparently, Mr. Trump doesn’t think America is great,” Hillary Clinton chastened in one of her campaign appearances. What Hillary Clinton failed to grasp, and what voters clearly understood, was that the key word in the slogan is again. Both Mr. Trump and the electorate are perfectly aware that America has been great at many points in its history. They embrace the fact that America is still the best country in the world in which to live. However, they also sensed that the greatness of America has faded in recent years. By the same token, Clinton and Obama’s failure to see how much their policies were contributing to America’s waning greatness, speaks volumes about their own worldview.
The “Make America Great Again” slogan, even as it was emblazoned on a simple red ball cap, sent the message to people that Donald Trump loves America. That would seem to be expected in any candidate seeking the highest office in the land. Yet, many in this nation had the palpable sense that for the past eight years, they had been led by someone who placed more emphasis on the country’s flaws than on its virtues. Mr. Obama tended to admonish the nation more often than he lifted it up. On the other hand, Donald Trump never hesitated to declare his love for the country and those individuals who work hard every day to keep the nation vibrant. When Kentuckians heard Donald Trump say he loved them, they believed him. They sensed his sincerity. We are proud that Kentucky was the first state to be called for the President-Elect.
President-Elect Trump has earned even more credibility with voters by those he has chosen to surround him. His first major decision was arguably his best, choosing Mike Pence as his running mate. Mr. Pence has, in recent years, become a close friend of mine both professionally and personally. I know him to be a man of great character, strong faith, and deep intellect. Mr. Trump astutely named Mike Pence as Chair of his Transition Team. Likewise, Mr. Trump has made it clear that he wants Vice President Pence to be intimately involved in the daily work of the Trump administration. These decisions speak to the President-Elect’s talent for finding excellent people to fill key roles, and to his willingness to embrace the good counsel that they provide.
Those attributes have been made all the more apparent by the long list of excellent cabinet appointments that have been made by the Trump team, not the least of which are Kentuckians Elaine Chao as Secretary of Transportation and Scott Pruitt for USEPA Director. President-Elect Trump has selected an exciting team of individuals with outstanding private sector accomplishments and combined them with the likes of Pence, Pruitt and Chao, who have successful track records in public service.
As I travel around Kentucky, I see an optimism and enthusiasm about the future of America under new leadership. That enthusiasm was on full display when I introduced the President and Vice President-Elect at an appreciation rally in Cincinnati. At the rally I stated that people in Kentucky, Ohio, the United States and across the world have been waiting for someone to step up, to stand up, to boldly say what needs to be said, and to speak the truth unapologetically. One of those truths is that America is about to show the world once again how great it can be when its people are empowered.

Liberals Aren't Liking This Newly-Discovered Photo Of The 1924 Democratic Convention…

NEWSVINE ^ | Wed Jan 18, 2017 5:36 AM | Norman-D

The below picture was taken during the 1924 Democratic Convention.
It was also known as “Klanbake.”
In Madison Square Garden, New York City, from June 24 to July 9, a dispute during came up revolving around an attempt by non-Klan delegates, led by Forney Johnston of Alabama, to condemn the organization for its violence in the Democratic Party’s platform.
But Klan delegates defeated the platform plank in a series of floor debates.
To celebrate, tens of thousands of hooded Klansmen rallied in a field in New Jersey, across the river from New York City. This event, known subsequently as the “Klanbake”, was also attended by hundreds of Klan delegates to the convention, who burned crosses, urged violence and intimidation against African Americans and Catholics, and attacked effigies of Smith.
The final vote was 546.15 for the Klan, 542.85 against it.

Democrats: Left in the Lurch... [Trump and Republican Party Sweep 2016]

NBC News ^ | January 18, 2017

When President-elect Donald Trump replaces Barack Obama on January 20, the Democratic Party will find itself more removed from power than at almost any point since the party’s creation.
Scorned by the same voters who once embraced the New Deal, built the Great Society, and put their hope in the nation’s first black president, Democrats are now locked out of power in Washington and out of two-thirds of state legislative chambers across the country.
Simply put, Democrats’ once vaunted coalition of the ascendant — younger, multiethnic, educated, and urban — failed them in 2016, and in 2014 and 2010 before that. That coalition proved to have major handicaps, part demographic and part geographic, that have been hollowing out the party for years.
Democrats may find cold comfort in Hillary Clinton’s ... popular vote lead and ... more people call themselves “liberal” than ever polled. And they ... protest a system ... unrepresentative of the popular vote. But it will be up to Democrats to solve their own problem within the current rules. -snip-
Countless autopsies will be written of the 2016 election. Most will focus on the strategy and tactics of the Clinton campaign. But to understand how Democrats arrived in this mess to begin with, it helps to go back to the party’s founding over 150 years ago.

Professional Activists Are Behind ‘Chaos’ Plot Targeting Trump Inauguration

Breitbart ^ | 18 Jan 2017 | Aaron Klein

While the protest movement plotting to disrupt President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration is largely attempting to portray itself as grassroots, in actuality professional left-wing activists are leading the charge. A main protest coalition group calls itself DisruptJ20.
The organization’s website does not say much about who is behind the group. DisruptJ20 “rejects all forms of domination and oppression, particularly those based on racism, poverty, gender and sexuality, organizes by consensus, and embraces a diversity of tactics,” the site reads.

Trump Jobs Boom Continues Before Inauguration Day

Breitbart ^ | 17 Jan 2017 | Warner Todd Huston

The number of companies announcing investment — and in many cases a return to investment — in the U.S.A. with a corresponding rush to create jobs for Americans has continued to grow even before President-elect Donald Trump takes office.
In the weeks after his election on November 8, a series of large corporations announced major initiatives to expand in the U.S. but, since then, the number has only grown.
By the middle of December, several companies had announced new jobs and expansion plans for the U.S., including Carrier Air Conditioner Manufacturing (1,000 Jobs), SoftBank Telecommunications (50,000 Jobs), U.S. Steel (10,000 Jobs), and IBM (25,000 Jobs). In addition, representatives of America's small businesses noted that Trump's election filled them with hope for a resurgence in startups and a new expansion phase for their constituents.
...Companies announcing large expansion projects include the following:
Ford: 700 Jobs to Start
January, Ford Motor Company went public to tell Donald Trump that they are ready to deal with the new administration and also noted that at least 700 new jobs were on the table with more to come as the year rolls onward.
SAP SE: 400 Jobs
German business-software maker SAP SE is adding nearly 400 jobs to its Pittsburgh and suburban Philadelphia facilities, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer. 100,000 Jobs
Amazon is eyeing a huge expansion starting this year and recently announced it intended to add up to 100,000 workers to its retail staff in new facilities across the nation.
Many of these jobs will be in brand new fulfillment centers the online giant plans to begin building this year.
Lockheed Martin: 1,800 Jobs
GM: 1,500 Jobs and $1 Billion Investment
Bayer AG: $8 Billion Investment
Walmart: 10,000 Retail Jobs, 24,000 Construction Jobs LKQ: 150 Jobs and New HQ in Tennessee

Trump Gores a Sacred Cow, and Liberals Lament

American Thinker ^ | January 18, 2017 | Daniel L. Mallock

The great Broom of Time recently swept away another failed ideology and political movement.
On the 20th of January, the dustbin of history will slam shut on the Utopian American Progressive Left. Followers, leaders, and philosophers of this dangerous and failed global movement will not go quietly, however; ideas die hard, and ideologies, movements, and political theories do not simply disappear overnight.
Inauguration Day 2017 will mark perhaps the greatest political and cultural shift in American history as the Utopians of the Progressive Left kick and scream, wail and whine as they shuffle off into forced retirement and irrelevance. Perhaps not since Lincoln's trip to Washington in early 1861 to begin his first term has so much vitriol, so many official and unofficial attempts to derail and delegitimize the president-elect, been seen.
Many have commented on the astounding and disturbing reaction of those now out of political power in the United States. The gross irony of Mrs. Clinton's admonishments during the election that Mr. Trump must promise to accept the election results (her victory was assured, remember?) in light of her supporters' post-election unwillingness to do the same is lost on the majority of them.
That the reaction of the Utopian Progressive Left is based upon anger, resentment, hatred, intolerance, and pique rather than logic is not important to them; it is a point that remains always unaddressed. Every political "dirty trick" that seems obviously a sham is accepted at face value, and bitter attacks built upon these false accusations immediately begin. The dizzying speed of the reactions, the overwhelmingly standardized nature of the talking points and commonly invoked yet faulty arguments, suggests a uniformity of thought more typical of an ideological movement or cult than of reasoned, cogent advocacy for a political candidate within a democratic open society.

Black History (aka Demonize White America) Month

American Thinker ^ | January 18, 2017 | Lloyd Marcus

As a black conservative Republican, I have been called a traitor to my race. All my life, blacks have maligned me for not relating to fellow human beings through an invisible divisive wall of race. I deal with people as individuals. Good and bad people come in all colors.
Here we are, folks, another Black History Month. How awesomely inspiring it would be if powerful black voices in media, education, and politics used the occasion to celebrate blacks who achieved success via self-reliance, education, hard work and right choices?
Sadly, every Black History Month, Leftists rip the scab off old racial wounds. Their goal is to anger black youths rather than inspiring them to follow extraordinary blacks' paths to excellence. Leftists want blacks to forever view themselves as victims of white racist America where cops murder them at will. The truth is, America is the greatest land of opportunity on the planet. Unfortunately, far too many blacks have been duped into believing that remaining loyal Democrat voters is the only way to keep racist white America at bay.
Ponder this, folks. It is a hot sunny day in 1958. You're driving on a two-lane dusty highway in rural Georgia. To your right, you see a dirty barefoot ten-year-old black kid working in a field of collard greens. Never in your wildest dreams could you imagine that black kid would become one of the most powerful men in the world; Clarence Thomas, Supreme Court Justice of the United States. That's the greatness of America, folks. That's America.
Clarence's upbringing was humble. His home had a corrugated tin roof, wooden siding caulked with flour and water. Newspapers were used for insulation and wallpaper; a dirt floor; no electricity or indoor plumbing. Kerosene lamps lit his home. His family used the neighborhood outhouse.

The Obamas’ post-presidency money machine ^ | 1/18/2017 | Thomas Lifson

How greedy will the Obamas be, once they are free to start making deals with speakers’ bureaus, book publishers, television broadcasters, movie producers, boards of directors, and other providers of part time and episodic employment of the most lucrative sort?

Most unfortunately for the plucky couple, the last Democrats to leave the White House gave a bad name to the shameless pursuit of wealth from megarich interests. So a man in his early fifties vitally concerned over his historical legacy might want to think twice about cashing in.

But the Obamas have demonstrated a love of luxury, perhaps the product of childhood, adolescent and young adult frustrations over status deprivation. Many leftists I have known have been deeply envious of the wealth accumulated by entrepreneurs, in particular, which they see as greedy, mostly uneducated, and certainly unworthy of lording it over themselves, and enjoying financial security while they struggled.

The Washington Post Takes Anti-Trump Bias To A New Level

Investors Business Daily ^ | Jan. 17, 2017 3:31 PM ET | JOHN MERLINE

The mainstream press loves to tell readers that it can be trusted because it employs professional journalists backed by layers of editors. Oh, and they're all unbiased.

So how to explain a recent Washington Post headline, which manages both to misrepresent its own poll and expose the ridiculous extent to which its reporters and editors will go to bash President-elect Donald Trump?
The story is about a Washington Post/ABC News poll that asks, among other things, whether Trump should sell his business to avoid any possible conflicts of interest while president.
Trump has taken steps to avoid these conflicts, although not to the satisfaction of some in the media — many of whom probably wouldn't be satisfied no matter what Trump did.
What did the poll find? It found that most (52%) think the steps Trump has taken are enough...
...Democrats are far out of the mainstream on this question, which is just another way of saying that Democrats deeply loathe and distrust Trump. But you'd never know that reading the Post story, since you have to dig down into the poll itself to discover the partisan breakdown.
The Daily Caller, a conservative news site, wrote the proper headline for this story: "Majority Of Voters Support Trump's Business Decision, Poll Finds."
Simple, direct, and as it turns out, unbiased.
If readers can't count on a major newspaper to fairly represent the results of its own Trump poll, why should they trust them to report anything else about Trump in an unbiased way?

Google was overwhelmingly against Trump, now it's trying to win him over!

CNBC ^ | 1/17/17 | Josh Lipton

President-elect Donald Trump's views on a range of issues, from immigration to climate change, alienated many left-leaning tech employees in Silicon Valley, but none more so than those working at Alphabet.
During the presidential campaign, 33 employees at the tech giant donated $20,000 to Trump, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. That was a tiny fraction of the 1,400 employees who donated to Hillary Clinton's campaign, for a total of $1.6 million.
And it wasn't just political donations.
The revolving door between the Obama administration and the company swung hard and frequently during the past eight years: 22 former White House officials left the administration to work for Alphabet, according to research from the Campaign for Accountability.
Alphabet's support for Clinton was evident in its C-suite as well.
WikiLeaks revealed that Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt emailed John Podesta — Clinton's campaign manager — volunteering to fund, advise and recruit talent for her White House run. CFO Ruth Porat donated $2,700 to Clinton, the maximum amount of money an individual can contribute to a federal campaign.
Like many tech companies, Alphabet has a range of potential political issues that it must consider, from immigration to privacy, taxes to encryption. There are also regulatory concerns.
< snip >
While its relationship with the new administration is uncertain, Alphabet does have plenty of conservative friends on Capitol Hill.
Its top lobbyist is Susan Molinari, the former Republican congresswoman from New York. Last year, the company's political action committee donated $1.5 million to federal candidates, with 56 percent directed to Republicans.
Alphabet declined comment for this story.

Fake Polls! How CNN And ABC Are Fudging The Numbers To Tank Trump’s Favorability

Daily Caller ^ | January 17, 2017 | By Christian Datoc

Two polls released Tuesday — one from ABC and a second from CNN — tout Donald Trump as being the most unfavorable incoming president in modern history — yet on second look, the data is clearly boosted by the pollers’ decision to oversample Democrats.
According to Gallup, 28 percent of Americans identify themselves as a Republican, while 25 percent identify as a Democrat.
Despite this information, eight more percent of participants in both the ABC and CNN polls identified as Democrats, leading to an 11 point swing in partisanship breakdown off the national average.
ABC’s poll sampled 1,005 adults across the nation. However, partisan breakdown shows that only 23 percent of participants identified as Republican.
Conversely, 31 percent of participants identified as Democrats and 37 percent as independent, while nine percent did not answer.
ABC’s poll found 40 percent of participants viewed Trump favorably, while 54 percent viewed him unfavorably. . .

Twas the Night Before Inauguration

Unknown | January 18, 2017 | Unknown

This is a well written poem, author unknown.
Whether you're a "deplorable" or not, I hope you enjoy it. :)

Twas the Night Before Inauguration
Twas the night before Inauguration, and up in the tower, The Donald reflected on his newfound power. The "deplorable" masses had come out in force, And delivered a victory that would chart a new course.
The snowflakes were shell-shocked with tears in their eyes, The media lied to them . . . What a surprise. They had been promised a Hillary win, But the criminal Clinton took one on the chin.
And though from all corners celebrities flew, They made no impression, for they hadn’t a clue. They talked about climate, racism, and such, And they made up good stories . . . But didn’t know much.
The fake news and ignorance came at a cost, And they can’t understand all the reasons they lost. They blame it on Comey and Bernie and Vlad, But fail to acknowledge the one that was bad.
Yes, Hillary Clinton, in many ways flawed, Was her own biggest hurdle toward getting the nod. The campaign exposed her corruptness and greed, And her speeches were punch-less as ten dollar weed.
So out in the streets there arose such a clatter, It was Soros-paid protestors and Black Lives Matter. With cities to pillage and windows to smash, They knew not the issues, but needed the cash.
Eight years of Obama had given them cause, To expect a replacement of their Santa Claus. But soon the protestors will feel the pain, When the wheels fall off of the old gravy train.
And now all the snowflakes are riddled with fear, Upset and offended by things that they’ll hear. The cocoa and crayons will help for a while, But fact-based opinions will soon cramp their style.
I originally supported anyone but Cruz, In the end I would vote for whoever they choose. He may not have been my first choice, but soon I would cede, The one they call TRUMP is the one that we NEED!
I saw him on TV in front of a crowd, He spoke about veterans, it made me feel proud. He spoke about energy, safety, and jobs, Taking this country back from the Washington snobs.
He was dressed in Armani, all tailored and neat, And the Brunos he wore made the outfit complete. For a man of his vintage, he seemed rather fit, And he looked presidential, I have to admit.
His eyes glowed like embers, his smile was the best, And his hair was the color of my old hunting vest. His love for this country was on full display, And his actions spoke louder than his words could say.
He thanked all his voters, and before he was gone, Saved thousands of jobs while Obama looked on. The fate of this country left nothing to chance, So, he filled out his cabinet weeks in advance.
The men he had chosen were of the same mind, Let’s set the bar high, and not lead from behind. He picked up his phone as he rose from his seat, With a flick of his finger, he sent out this tweet;
“Now Mattis! Now Kelly! Now Sessions and Pruitt! On Perry! On Flynn, You’re the ones who can do it. Start lifting restrictions and building the wall, Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!!”
The roar of his audience rose from the stands, He kissed all their babies and shook all their hands. He answered their questions and calmed all their fears, They knew it would be a fantastic four years.
Then he jumped in his limo, and off to his jet, A fellow that Liberals won’t soon forget. He sent one more tweet as the evening expired; “Happy Inauguration to all, AND OBAMA – YOU’RE FIRED!”

Tucker Carlson DESTROYS Demand Protest Leader Dom Tullipso | Paying Protesters Hoax | 1/17/17

youtube ^

Tucker Carlson DESTROYS and DISCREDITS Demand Protest Leader "Dom Tullipso" who claims to pay Protesters 1/17/17. On January 17, 2017 edition of "Tucker Carlson Tonight", Host Tucker Carlson takes on Demand Protest Leader Dom Tullipso who allegedly pay protesters to show up at events.
Tucker Carlson discredits the groups leader calling him out for using a fake name of someone who doesnt exist. wath for more. this video is insane. The video above contains quite possibly one of the most bizarre interviews you will ever watch. Here’s how Tucker Carlson began the interview: “This is a sham, your company isn’t real, your website is fake, the claims you have made are lies, this is a hoax. Let me start at the beginning, however, with your name, Dom Tullipso, which is not your real name.
It’s a fake name, we ran you through law enforcement-level background checks and that name does not exist. So let’s start out with the truth. Tell me what your real name is.” Okay, let’s back up a second. Carlson invited the man identifying himself as Dom Tullipso on his show to talk about this new group that’s popped up called Demand Protest.
It says on the site, “When your strategy demands paid protest, we organize and bring it to life.” A few sites picked up on supposed ads this group was passing around reading “Get paid fighting against Trump!” However, it seems pretty clear this is a hoax. The back-and-forth between Carlson and “Tullipso” was kind of amazing, and this was the moment when Carlson realized he was witnessing performance art before his very eyes: “We are greatly, greatly supportive of national treasures such as Julian Assange, Edward Snowden, and Peyton Manning, and we really support their efforts to really get the truth out there, and in the case of the current client we have right now, uh, that client is, um, very interested in releasing the Roswell papers.” Oh, and in case you’re wondering if the reference to Peyton Manning instead of Chelsea was a slip-up, he did it again a bit later, after he actually said, “We shifted from being against Trump to Trump about 30 minutes ago.
” But towards the end of the interview, even Carlson’s guest couldn’t help but admit his surprise that he was invited on TV in the first place. After, of course, he said this: “We are now supporting Trump in the hope that the Roswell documents from 1947 are finally released and put back into the hands of Fisher Stevens.”

Trump's pick for Ed Sec wants everyone to get a great education. Dems hate her for it!

Fox ^ | January 13, 2017 | Gov. Bobby Jindal

In politics they say that no good deed goes unpunished. That is never truer than on the issue of school choice.

President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to be the Secretary of Education, Betsy Devos, has committed an unpardonable sin. Yes, she has tried to help millions of disadvantaged families have the ability to send their kids to better schools. This is of course reprehensible behavior on her part that must not be rewarded.

Oh, and there is one more thing, she has spent millions of dollars of her own money in order to try to help these kids be able to achieve their dreams.  How awful.

In Louisiana we enacted the biggest school choice statewide program in the country. And in New Orleans every public school will soon be a charter school, allowing for real innovation. There will be literally zero traditional public schools, and education is improving.

But let’s be clear, this is Holy Grail for the American Left. They will fight to the last gasp to stop anyone from delivering equal opportunity in education. They attacked me for it every waking hour after we got our program enacted, in the same irrational and nasty manner they are now attacking Betsy.

Yes, the hard Left and the teachers unions are vilifying Betsy DeVos for exactly the reasons I listed above. They believe that allowing the money to follow the child is an attempt to destroy public education and ultimately the United States.

These people are not rational. They are protecting a one size fits all monopoly that creates winners and losers in our education system. The winners are kids whose families have money and the losers are those who do not.
