DOJ has been trying for months to shut down FBI probe of Clinton Foundation

Canada Free Press ^ | 11/01/16 | Dan Calabrese

Whatever could be motivating them to do such a thing?
This sounds very much like an X-Files episode, except that I doubt the Cigarette Smoking Man, the Well Manicured Man, the Elder or even the aliens themselves are as corrupt as the Clintons. Whoever our real-life Mulder and Scully might be in this case (and it’s surely a lot more than two agents), the task of looking into the Clinton Foundation’s dirty dealings is getting one hell of a lot of resistance from the Justice Department, which wants the whole thing to stop immediately.
I’ll give you three guesses as to why, and the first two don’t count. Excellent reporting here by Devlin Barrett of the Wall Street Journal:

How FIVE separate FBI cases are probing virtually every one of Clinton's inner circle!

Daily Mail ^ | 11/01/16

  • Scale of FBI investigations into Clinton's closest aides and friends is becoming clear
  • Besides Huma Abedin,  a swathe of long-time loyalists are at the center of investigations including Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe
  • John Podesta ran the Clinton Foundation which is under investigation while his brother Tony is also focus of a probe about foreign corruption
  • Cheryl Mills already received limited FBI immunity during Clinton email investigation - and is key Clinton fixer
  • String of other names are being looked at or have been caught up in earlier scandals
The extent to which Hillary Clinton's key advisers are now the focus of major FBI investigations is becoming clear.
The Clintons' long-term inner-circle - some of whom stretch back in service to the very first days of Bill's White House - are being examined in at least five separate investigations.
The scale of the FBI's interest in some of America's most powerful political fixers - one of them a sitting governor - underlines just how difficult it will be for Clinton to shake off the taint of scandal if she enters the White House.
There are, in fact, not one but five separate FBI investigations which involve members of Clinton's inner circle or their closest relatives - the people at the center of what has come to be known as Clintonworld.
The five known investigations are into: Anthony Weiner, Huma Abedin's estranged husband sexting a 15-year-old; the handling of classified material by Clinton and her staff on her private email server; questions over whether the Clinton Foundation was used as a front for influence-peddling; whether the Virginia governor broke laws about foreign donations; and whether Hillary's campaign chairman's brother did the same.

Clinton should step down — she has no business near classified information!

Orlando Sentinel ^

Has America become so numb by the decades of lies and cynicism oozing from Clinton Inc. that it could elect Hillary Clinton as president, even after Friday's FBI announcement that it had reopened an investigation of her emails while secretary of state?
It's obvious the American political system is breaking down. It's been crumbling for some time now, and the establishment elite know it, and they're properly frightened. Donald Trump, the vulgarian at their gates, is a symptom, not a cause. Hillary Clinton and husband Bill are both cause and effect.
This can't be about pervert Anthony Weiner and his reported desire for a teenage girl. But it can be about the laptop of Weiner's wife, Clinton aide Huma Abedin, and emails between her and Hillary. It comes after the FBI investigation in which Comey concluded Clinton had lied and been "reckless" with national secrets, but said he could not recommend prosecution.
If a presidential election is as much about the people as it is about the candidates, then we'll learn plenty about ourselves in the coming days, won't we?

One Week Before Election Day, Early Voting Is Nearly Twice as High as 2012

nbcnews.com ^ | 11/1/16 | Hannah Hartig and John Lapinski

More than 26 million voters have already cast early ballots a week ahead of Election Day 2016, nearly double the amount of early vote at this point in the 2012 election, according to new analysis by the NBC News Data Analytics Lab.
On October 30, 2012, one week ahead of the Obama vs. Romney match-up, roughly 13.5 million voters had cast early ballots nationwide. Ahead of Election Day, early votes are generally cast via early in-person voting, no excuse in-person absentee voting or mail-in absentee voting.

Don't Be Fooled: Hillarygate Probe Is Now a Formal Federal Criminal Investigation

 American Thinker ^ | 11/1/16 | James G. Wiles

"The NY Times and the Wall Street Journal both reported on Monday morning that an FBI warrant application to a federal judge over the weekend for permission to search Huma Abedin's emails and laptop had been granted. The application was made on the basis of the Clinton email investigation. Necessarily, that application (as required by the Constitution's Fourth Amendment) would have been supported by FBI affidavits."
"Because, not only is the probe reopened, it has been upgraded and expanded. It has been upgraded from a preliminary inquiry to a formal criminal investigation with grand jury power."

Hillary’s own Twitter feed admits: she’s ‘one of the most corrupt, least popular, candidates of all

http://canadafreepress.com/article/hillarys-own-twitter-feed-admits-shes-one-of-the-most-corrupt-least-popular ^

No, really. It did.
I don’t know who’s running Hillary Clinton’s Twitter feed. It’s probably some poor, malnourished, lackey chained to a radiator in the basement next to her email server. They post a tweet, a little door opens in the wall, and a food pellet drops out. It’s a meager way to live but, if you’re working for Hillary, it could be worse. You could be Huma.
Whoever does her tweeting, they should be applauded. Yesterday, they interrupted her steady stream of lies, propaganda, and virulent attacks with a brief moment of clarity.

What the Left Really Thinks About Immigrants and Minorities

Townhall.com ^ | November 1, 2016 | Victoria Straub

If the left is good at anything, it’s lying. How else could the party of the Ku Klux Klan come to be the party of Black Lives Matter? As Dinesh D’Souza shows us in Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party, the left is talking out of both sides of their mouth.
D’Souza’s first example comes from none other than Hillary Clinton herself. In November 2014, shortly after Barack Obama signed an executive order limiting law enforcement from enforcing immigration laws, she attempted to defend him during her speech at New York City’s Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
“We should all remember,” she said, “that this is about people’s lives. This is about, I would venture to guess, the people who served us tonight, who prepared our food tonight.”
Wait a second. Hillary said this… in 2014. Trump’s comments from decades ago can and would be brought to the forefront, used to condemn him even after an apology, but Hillary gets a free pass on implying all food service workers are illegal immigrants?
This comment is a glaring indication of what she and her comrades think about immigration. Though illegal immigration is indeed wrong, implying that the only people who would work in food service and maybe enjoy their jobs are illegal immigrants is also wrong.
This echoes two key parts of leftist history, two they have long ignored: Margaret Sanger’s racism and Lyndon B. Johnson’s plan to enslave black voters. Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, was a eugenicist whose work led to the forcible injection of poor blacks with syphilis.
Sanger once told a Women’s Chapter of the Ku Klux Klan of her “Negro Project” to get rid of “human beings who should never have been born” and told the Chapter to hide the fact that “we are trying to exterminate the Negro population.”
It’s a night and day difference on the left now, although not by much: Planned Parenthood still deliberately targets poor minority women in poverty-stricken communities.
Johnson, another hero of the left, was similarly racist. His time in Congress was spent as part of a group that got FDR to block anti-lynching legislation and exclude blacks from his New Deal. His time as President of the United States was no different. Upon signing the Civil Rights Act, which he is often revered for, he declared, “I’ll have them n*ggers voting Democratic for two hundred years.”
This is all horrifying, and it would likely shock many of the millennial idealists who believe voting Democrat is the only way to ensure minority survival. But it’s exactly what the left wants-- a culture where they can keep the immigrant/minority vote to themselves, because “good minorities” side with the people trying to protect them, and (according to them), minorities wouldn’t know what to do with themselves otherwise. To hell with personal responsibility and stopping the cycle of poverty. The left has voting blocs to protect and a racist history to uphold.

Greenfield: Under Obama, the United States won’t defend the United States.

FrontPage ^ | November 1, 2016 | Daniel Greenfield

Obama Won’t Vote With America at the UN

A generation ago the Communist tyranny in Cuba demanded that the United Nations condemn America for the embargo. The brutal Castro regime’s rant accused the United States of threatening “nuclear annihilation,” “countless acts of sabotage and plans to assassinate Cuban leaders.”

On a cold day in October, the European left-wing activist serving as UN Ambassador announced to applause that her administration would no longer be voting to defend the US at the UN.
"UN Member States have voted overwhelmingly for a General Assembly resolution that condemns the U.S. embargo and calls for it to be ended. The United States has always voted against this resolution. Today the United States will abstain," Samantha Power said.
"Thank you," she added, acknowledging the applause.
Under Obama, the United States would no longer defend the United States. A generation ago the Communists had been in Cuba. Now they were in Washington D.C.
Instead of defending America, Obama’s chosen representative agreed that our Communist enemies had a point about our lack of human rights and our imperialist foreign policy.
“Let me be among the first to acknowledge – as our Cuban counterparts often point out – that the United States has work to do in fulfilling these rights for our own citizens. And we know that at times in our history, U.S. leaders and citizens used the pretext of promoting democracy and human rights in the region to justify actions that have left a deep legacy of mistrust,” she said.
If the Cuban representative had been in her place, he could not have done much better. Communist Cuban propaganda was now being parroted by Ambassador Power. If the Castro dictatorship wanted to save money, it could shut down its propaganda department and outsource the labor to Washington D.C.
The Cuban ambassador boasted that Cuban Communists had “rid ourselves of US imperialism” and proclaimed that, “We will never go back to capitalism.” He declared that the resolution was a powerful message to “the peoples of the world.” The message is indeed unmistakable.
Ben Rhodes, the close Obama adviser who sold the media on the Iran sellout, curtly tweeted his justification, “No reason to vote to defend a failed policy we oppose.”
Who is this “we”?
The Cuban embargo is the “law of the land”. It’s the official policy of the United States. It’s based on laws passed by Congress and implemented by President John F. Kennedy and his successors.
This “we” certainly isn’t the United States government, its elected representatives in the legislative and executive branches working together to end the old policy and implement a new one.
One member of the “we” must be Ben Rhodes because he tells us so. Who is Rhodes? An “aspiring” novelist who pushed Obama to back the Muslim Brotherhood takeover of Egypt, the Iran nuke sellout and now, apparently, choosing Communist Cuba over America.
No one has ever elected Rhodes to anything, but under left-wing rule, he outweighs Congress, President Kennedy, the law of the land and the national interests of the United States.
“We” is Obama who made the final decision. It’s Ambassador Samantha Power. It’s a number of other functionaries all of whom derive their power from a single elected official who is only one third of the government. This is the “we” that announced its treasonous opposition to the US at the UN.
America has a “we” problem.
If the “we” of the American left wants to vote its own way, it should secede to form its own country.

When President John F. Kennedy proclaimed the “Embargo on All Trade with Cuba”, he based it on authorization from “the Congress of the United States”. That is how our system used to work.
These days El Teleprompte in D.C. decides that he wants to sign a nuclear treaty with Iran, mandate transgender bathrooms, legalize millions of illegal aliens or open relations with his brother tyrant in Havana and he does so on his own authority. And Congress is dismissed as a bunch of obstructionists.
That’s not how America is supposed to work. That’s how Iran works. That’s how Cuba works.
The first word in the introduction to Obama’s Presidential Policy Directive on Cuba after the date was “I”. Obama’s basis for his authority is his 2014 announcement. L'etat c'est moi. Obama is the State.
JFK, no humble shrinking violet, mentions “I” only in the fourth paragraph, after Congress. What is the context of Kennedy’s “I”? “Now, Therefore, I, John F. Kennedy, President of the United States of America, acting under the authority of section 620(a) of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961.”
The “I” of JFK can only act as a servant, not a master.
In Obama’s “Directive”, Congress exists only to be berated or badgered for its obstructionism. There is no source of authorization for anything other than Barack Obama. There is no law. Only Obama.
Now the big “we” in Washington have decided that they will oppose America at the United Nations. But Ben Rhodes, who aspires to excel at novelistic narratives, made an unfortunate slip. Obama has been accused of Louis XIV’s L'etat c'est moi mentality. But Ben Rhodes isn’t saying, “We are the state”. Instead he tells us that there are two powerful political entities in America. One is US. The other is We.
“We” does not yet entirely control the state. But “we” also feels no obligation to the United States. If “we” agrees with America, then “we” will vote with it at the UN. If “we” opposes America, then “we” votes against it. “We” will choose patriotism or treason based on its own interests. Not ours.
“We” happens to run America. But it isn’t America. It’s the parasite humped on America’s back.
You can call “we” by many names. Deep State is one. It’s a coalition of left-wing special interests networking through politics, the non-profit sector and media corporations to control America.
President Kennedy was quite familiar with the enemy. “We are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence--on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice.”
Kennedy was speaking after the recent Bay of Pigs crisis. The Foreign Assistance Act, mentioned by him, was passed by Congress that year. While the Cuban embargo limited the ability of the Castro regime to sponsor and spread terror around the region and the world, it didn’t stop the “we” in Washington D.C.
It is easy to sit here in the distant future of 2016 and wonder whether Cuba matters at all. But the truth is that we are still enmeshed in the same fundamental struggle of the Cold War. That struggle did not end when the Berlin Wall fell. It is a battle over whether nations will be ruled by “We the People” or by the nameless “We” of the monolithic and ruthless conspiracy of the Nomenklatura of the left.
By backing away from America at the United Nations, the “we” have announced their independence from the laws, responsibilities and duties of the country whose government they have hijacked.
But the “we” offer us no such independence from their treasonous rule. Instead they impose on us the collectivism of Yevgeny Zamyatin's novel “We” in which everyone suffers under the stifling progressive tyranny of the One State that controls every aspect of human life. That novel inspired 1984.
What “we” offer us is what Cuba’s Castro, We’s One State and every Communist regime offer us. It's what George Orwell in 1984 summed up as, “A boot stamping on a human face — forever.”
President Kennedy dated his embargo proclamation from the “one hundred and eighty-sixth” year of “the Independence of the United States of America.” At the United Nations, Ambassador Power cheerfully declared America’s enforced submission to the Communist demands for Cuba.
The Cuban people show no signs of winning independence from their Communist overlords. The question is will the United States of America be able to regain its independence from the “we”?

Philly.com reported:
Pennsylvania state police have raided a Delaware County political field office seeking evidence of possible voter-registration fraud, according to court records.
In a warrant filed late last week in County Court, investigators said they were seeking documents, financial information, and lists of employees at the Norwood office of FieldWorks LLC, a national organization that often does street work for Democrats, records show.
The warrant did not specify the nature of the probe, but said agents also were looking for “templates . . . utilized to construct fraudulent voter registration forms” and “completed voter registration forms containing same or similar identifying information of individuals on multiple forms.”
Read the rest here. But Democrats say voter fraud doesn’t happen? They’re wrong.
We need Voter ID!

State Dept: Oh, hey, we found 323 more Hillary e-mails — and some are classified!

Hot Air ^ | November 1,2016 | ED MORRISSEY

Harry Reid’s explanation of how John Kerry and State are violating the Hatch Act will be awesome. Just days after the FBI notified Congress about a trove of Hillary Clinton’s e-mails found on Anthony Weiner’s laptop, the State Department suddenly released over three hundred e-mails last night. The Washington Examiner reports that the new release includes messages between Hillary and Huma Abedin that were not disclosed prior to now — and they came via a separate FOIA fight:
State Department officials produced 323 pages of correspondence from Hillary Clinton‘s tenure on Monday, including previously undisclosed emails between Clinton and top aide Huma Abedin that have since been classified. …
At least one of those was an email chain Clinton sent Abedin that has since been classified. In it, Clinton asked Abedin to print a sensitive memo from informal advisor Sidney Blumenthal about the political situation in Northern Ireland.
This raises even more questions about how Sid Blumenthal had access to classified information. Before, the explanation was that he was on the ground in Libya and was just passing along information he came across, which was already a bit difficult to believe based on the quality of intel he had. Was Blumenthal also running businesses in Northern Ireland, too? Without seeing the actual redactions, it’s difficult to tell whether it might just be coincidental based on publicly available knowledge, but now we have multiple “coincidences” involving Blumenthal and classified intel while Hillary was Secretary of State.

'Kept me out of jail': Top DOJ official involved in Clinton probe represented her campaign chairman!

Fox News ^ | November 1,2016 | Fox News

The Justice Department official in charge of informing Congress about the newly reactivated Hillary Clinton email probe is a political appointee and former private-practice lawyer who kept Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta “out of jail,” lobbied for a tax cheat later pardoned by President Bill Clinton and led the effort to confirm Attorney General Loretta Lynch.
Peter Kadzik, who was confirmed as assistant attorney general for legislative affairs in June 2014, represented Podesta in 1998 when independent counsel Kenneth Starr was investigating Podesta for his possible role in helping ex-Bill Clinton intern and mistress Monica Lewinsky land a job at the United Nations.
“Fantastic lawyer. Kept me out of jail,” Podesta wrote on Sept. 8, 2008 to Obama aide Cassandra Butts, according to emails hacked from Podesta’s Gmail account and posted by WikiLeaks.
Kadzik’s name has surfaced multiple times in regard to the FBI’s investigation of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton for using a private, homebrewed server. After FBI Director James Comey informed Congress on Thursday the FBI was reviving its inquiry when new evidence linked to a separate investigation was discovered, congressional leaders wrote to the Department of Justice seeking more information. Kadzik replied.
“We assure you that the Department will continue to work closely with the FBI and together, dedicate all necessary resources and take appropriate steps as expeditiously as possible,” Kadzik wrote on Oct. 31.

After nearly two full years of scrutiny what have we found?
In fairness, a long list of details about each candidate will hardly change anything in only one week. The time is now, but the entire panorama of the last two years should bring us to pause and ponder which future we are willing to embrace.
There is a complexity and simplicity to every matter in life. As it pertains to the future of 300 million Americans it behooves us to ponder the essence, the bottom line or the projected outcome of our choices – we will have to live in them for a good long time.

Hillary Clinton Email Scandal Explained

Beitbart ^ | 10/31/2016 | Patrick Howley

The Hillary Clinton email scandal can seem complicated. But it’s easy to understand. Here is the full story:

Hillary Clinton set up a private email server, and a private email network for herself and her family and Abedin. Doing so could prevent her emails from being “accessible” to the federal government, not to mention Congress.

The private network allowed Clinton, Abedin, and aides Cheryl Mills and Jake Sullivan to swap emails with the Clinton Foundation, various world leaders, and Doug Band’s global consulting firm Teneo Holdings, where Abedin also worked during her time at the State Department. This would have been problematic, considering Clinton’s 2009 ethics agreement, leaked on Cryptome, in which she vowed not to coordinate with the Clinton Foundation.............(read more)

This stock market metric says the likely winner is...Trump

CNBC ^ | Oct. 31, 2016 | Patti Domm

The stock market's election year performance between July 31 and Oct. 31 has often accurately predicted the next president — and this year it's pointing to a victory by Donald Trump, if history is a guide.
Sam Stovall, chief investment strategist at CFRA, says the market's decline this fall has been a bad omen for the incumbent party and Hillary Clinton, who still holds a six point national lead in a new poll. The S&P 500 is down 2.2 percent since its close of 2,173 on July 29, a Friday and the last trading day of July.
"Going back to World War II, the S&P 500 performance between July 31 and Oct. 31 has accurately predicted a challenger victory 86 percent of the time when the stock market performance has been negative," he said. The one time in eight that the incumbent party won with a negative stock market was in 1956, when Adlai Stevenson challenged President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Hillary Clinton Fast Losing Advantage Over Donald Trump as Polls Tighten

News 18 ^ | November 1, 2016 | The Press Trust of India

Following FBI's decision to reopen the emails probe against Hillary Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee appears to be fast loosing her advantage over her Republican rival Donald Trump, latest opinion polls showed on Monday.
Two of the three polls, carried out after the FBI announced its decision on October 28 to reopen its probe into her alleged email scandal, showed Clinton leading Trump by three percentage points, while in another (IBD/TIPP), she is leading the real-estate mogul by just one percentage points.
As per IBD/TIPP, considered to be the most accurate poll, Clinton has support of 45 per cent of the likely voters as against Trump's 44 per cent.
Politico/Morning Consult said Trump (39 per cent) is trailing Clinton (42 per cent) by three percentage points, while as per Rasmussen the Republican nominee (42 per cent) is behind the former Secretary of State (39 per cent) by same difference....

Hold Democrats Strictly Accountable for the Clintons

American Thinker ^ | November 1, 2016 | J. Robert Smith

Like me, you must be heartened. Democrats in force are condemning Hillary’s bald-faced corruption. It proves that truth, morality, and justice triumph. Hallelujah. Harry Reid, the outgoing Senate minority leader, has broken dramatically with Hillary. In a letter to FBI Director James Comey, per USA Today, Reid asserts:

"Your [Director Comey’s] actions in recent months have demonstrated a disturbing double standard for the treatment of sensitive information, with what appears to be a clear intent to aid one political party over another," Reid wrote. "I am writing to inform you that my office has determined that these actions may violate the Hatch Act, which bars FBI officials from using their official authority to influence an election. Through your partisan actions, you may have broken the law."

Don't Be Fooled: Hillarygate Probe Is Now a Formal Federal Criminal Investigation!

American Thinker ^ | November 1, 2016 | James G, Wiles

The NY Times and the Wall Street Journal both reported on Monday morning that an FBI warrant application to a federal judge over the weekend for permission to search Huma Abedin's emails and laptop had been granted. The application was made on the basis of the Clinton email investigation. Necessarily, that application (as required by the Constitution's Fourth Amendment) would have been supported by FBI affidavits.
This new fact is a development of immense potential significance – both for Mrs. Clinton personally and for us as American citizens. It is also unprecedented in American history.
At a minimum, it enables us to pierce the thick cloud of black ink and disinformation released over the weekend by Team Hillary and which is being widely misreported in the current news cycle.
The FBI agents had to make this warrant application because their existing Fourth Amendment search authority was on the basis of Anthony Weiner's (unrelated) suspected misconduct with an underage girl. That investigation was already a grand jury matter. However, that grand jury's authority – which is supervised by a federal judge -- did not authorize the Bureau to pursue information which might be pertinent to the inquiry into Mrs. Clinton's use of a personal email server while she was Secretary of State. Making that application, under standard DOJ protocol, required approval from Main Justice. In this case, the assistant attorney in charge of the Criminal Division, if not the attorney general.

You’re Never Gonna Get the Smell Out

American Thinker ^ | November 1, 2016 | Jon N. Hall

As America nears the end of the Obama times, one wonders how such a person could ever have become the Leader of the Free World. Americans haven’t been this divided since the Vietnam War. Obama deserves much of the credit for this sad state of affairs, as he has cynically played Americans off against each other. But voters ate up his pabulum about “hope and change,” as though the only other items on the menu were doom and inertia.
I feel bad for African Americans. The first nominally “black” president has proved to be a flop in so many areas. I’d imagine black folks are relieved that Obama is only half black and that his black half is not of “slave stock.” (You’ve been saying America needs a conversation on race, right.) Some black folks might even make the argument that America still hasn’t had a truly black president.
The election of Barack Hussein Obama tells us a great deal about the American electorate. Rather than voting for an authentic hero who suffered and sacrificed for his country, America opted for the “cool” candidate. When told by ABC’s Charlie Gibson that there’s a good deal of evidence that raising tax rates results in lower tax revenue, Obama said he would raise them anyway, for the sake of “fairness.” If White Boy spouted such nonsense he’d be laughed out of town.

Why Clinton's Emails Matter

The New York Times ^ | October 31, 2016 | Timothy Naftali

It may come as a surprise that one of this country’s greatest experts on Richard M. Nixon’s many crimes is, in fact, Hillary Clinton. In 1974 she was, by many accounts, among the brightest members of the staff of the House Judiciary Committee that investigated Nixon and prepared the articles of impeachment. In this bizarre election year, it must be painful to her that she should find herself at the center of a scandal described by her hyperbolic political opponent, Donald J. Trump, as “worse than Watergate.”
But while “Emailgate” is no Watergate, there are some noteworthy echoes.
For one, the controversial decision by the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, to inform Congress about new evidence in the investigation into Mrs. Clinton’s email server makes sense only if you think of what Watergate meant for the bureau. Its reputation was badly hurt by the behavior of L. Patrick Gray, its acting director at the time, and the revelations of its Hoover-era misdeeds that followed. Subsequent directors like William H. Webster, Robert S. Mueller III and now Mr. Comey have all appeared to understand that the country needs a trusted, nonpartisan F.B.I.
The fact that emails on Anthony Weiner’s computer might be relevant to the investigation into Mrs. Clinton’s private email server had to be reported to an interested congressional investigative committee. If Mr. Comey had sat on the information — with part of the country already voting in the presidential election — he would have not only made the F.B.I. more of a target for partisan fury, but also made himself a target for future House investigations, since he had testified under oath that the F.B.I. had completed its Clinton email investigation.

Liar Reid Slams Comey

American Thinker ^ | November 1, 2016 | Daniel John Sobieski

Chutzpah has a new poster child and his name is Harry Reid. The man who stood idly by as the IRS used its ultimate power to target the Tea Party and other groups in 2012 in order to reelect President Obama, the man who lied on the Senate floor about GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, now claims that FBI Director James Comey violated the Hatch Act by fulfilling his obligation to notify Congress regarding new evidence in the Hillary email investigation:

Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid set off a firestorm of criticism Sunday after he said that FBI Director James Comey "may have broken" a federal law when he disclosed on Friday that his office was pursuing potential new evidence related to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server less than two weeks before the presidential election.
The Senate minority leader from Nevada wrote in a letter that Comey may have violated the Hatch Act, which bars government officials from using their position to influence an election.
"I am writing to inform you that my office has determined that these actions may violate the Hatch Act, which bars FBI officials from using their official authority to influence an election," Reid wrote. "Through your partisan actions, you may have broken the law."
Reid, who is retiring from the Senate at the end of his term, added that Comey's "highly selective approach to publicizing information, along with your timing, was intended for the success or failure of a partisan candidate or political group."

NYT Florida Poll Showcases Pending Trump Landslide Victory….

theconservativetreehouse.com ^ | 30 Oct 2016 | Sundance

The New York Times presents a Florida poll today that has author Nate Cohen trying desperately to frame hope for Hillary Clinton where no hope exists.
Overall the poll presentation shows Donald Trump with a 4 point advantage. However, the real story, reflecting the full scope of what’s happening, is marginally buried in the poll internals:
… [ Trump’s ] so strong that Mrs. Clinton has just 55 percent of the vote among white registered Democrats without a degree, compared with Mr. Trump’s 32 percent.
Yes, that is correct. Donald Trump is winning 32% of the largest Florida Democrat constituency, registered white Democrats without a college degree.
But wait, it gets better:
…[…] Mrs. Clinton had a lead of 41 percent to 33 percent among Cuban voters, with a huge number undecided or supporting a minor-party candidate. Now Mr. Trump leads, 52 percent vs. 42 percent.
Yes, that is correct. Donald Trump is leading 52/42 with Cuban Americans in Florida. A 10 point advantage. Remember what we have always said about the “Patrone” cultural aspect in Florida?
There it is…. Clear as day.

Still Think Hillary Clinton Is a Role Model for Your Daughter?

Townhall.com ^ | November 1, 2016 | Dennis Prager

Three months ago, I wrote a column refuting the claim repeatedly made by supporters of Hillary Clinton that having a woman president -- specifically, Hillary Clinton -- would be a terrific thing for girls and young women.
In light of how much more we now know about Clinton's activities while secretary of state and the renewal by the FBI of its investigation of her private email server as well as the revelation, denied months ago by Clinton, that it is investigating her family-run charities, it is a topic worth revisiting. Good and decent men and women who are Democrats ought to stop thinking this way -- for America's sake and for their daughters' sake.
Only those in willful denial can continue to reject the overwhelming evidence that Clinton is essentially a crook, prone to chronic lying, and, worst of all, she has betrayed America's best interests for those of herself and her husband.
There is nothing I can say to those people.
But to those Democrats who will vote for Clinton but who are nevertheless able to acknowledge Hillary Clinton's extraordinary ethical defects, I make the following appeal: Do not believe, let alone claim, that having her as president, if she is elected, will be a good thing for your daughters.
Quite the contrary.
The notion that Hillary Clinton is a role model for young American women is yet another testimony to the moral decline of America -- not to mention to the moral state of the American Left and the Democratic Party.
While many of us who are voting for Donald Trump readily acknowledge our ambivalence over doing so, one never hears any moral ambivalence from Democrats, liberals or anyone else voting for Hillary Clinton.
Indeed, Clinton supporters -- especially women -- speak of the Democrats' nominee with pride. They actually say that they yearn for her to be president so as to serve as a model for young American women.
If Clinton supporters said, "I will support just about any Democrat for president, no matter how personally immoral, because I consider defeating Republicans the most important thing we Americans can do on Election Day," I could live with that.
The converse, after all, is my position. I will support just about any Republican for president, given the perhaps irreparable damage the Left and the Democrats have wreaked on America -- on its universities, its economy, its race relations, its standing in the world, its allies, on free speech and on the moral fabric of American life.
But Clinton supporters don't say that. Rather, they extol the virtues of a profoundly unethical woman who, mounting evidence indicates, sold her country's interests for her and her husband's personal and political gain. And they endlessly repeat the claim about how wonderful it would be for girls and young women to see this woman in the White House.
In my earlier column, I characterized the argument that it is important for women to vote for a woman president as morally primitive. I feel the same way about blacks voting for blacks, Jews for Jews, Hispanics for Hispanics, and Mormons for Mormons because the candidate is a member of their "tribe." Such group-think is the opposite of what America was set up to be -- a place where, for once, the individual, not the individual's group, is what most matters.
It is also worth noting that the majority of conservative women would not think this way. Women with conservative values are far less committed to female solidarity than liberal women.
Why is that?
Because conservatives do not think as tribally as liberals. People on the left think of themselves as worldly, but this is true only regarding national identity -- they value national identity far less than people on the right. But what the left has done is trade in national identity for race, gender and class identity.
Most conservative women are not impressed with the idea of "female solidarity." And almost all conservatives regard racial solidarity as just another term for racism.
Moreover, far more conservative women think that if a woman is going to serve as a model for their daughters, then her primary responsibility and achievement is making a healthy and character-building home. They are therefore less likely than liberal women to think in terms of astronaut or president when they think about a female role model for their daughter.
Certainly, in terms of America's well-being, they are right. America needs far more great mothers and wives than it needs female astronauts and presidents.
Any support for Hillary Clinton because she is a female is troubling. It is statement that gender identity is more important than moral character. That is the message every parent who asks his or her daughter to look to Hillary Clinton as a model is communicating.

Clinton Foundation Scandal: A Justice Department Cover-Up Exposed?

Investor's Business Daily ^ | 10/31/2016 | Staff

Corruption: Lost in the hurricane of news about the FBI's renewed investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email is a bombshell of possibly greater importance — an apparent attempt by Obama's Justice Department to quash an FBI probe into the troubled Clinton Foundation.

Back in August, the Daily Caller reported that the FBI and several U.S. attorneys offices were conducting a joint investigation of the foundation for financial crimes and influence peddling.

It was a major story that, naturally, other news outlets ignored, until this weekend. In an extensive report on battles within the FBI and Justice Department over how to handle various investigations involving people in Clinton's orbit, the Wall Street Journal revealed deep in the story how senior officials at Justice tried to thwart the FBI from looking too closely at the Clinton Foundation.

"Early this year, four FBI field offices — New York, Los Angeles, Washington and Little Rock, Ark. — were collecting information about the Clinton Foundation to see if there was evidence of financial crimes or influence-peddling," the Journal reported.

But when these investigators presented their findings to the Justice Department in February 2016, Justice refused to grant them the authority to use more aggressive investigative techniques, such as issuing subpoenas or conducting formal interviews.
