Thank You Obama for Freeing Me! ^ | February 16, 2014 | Bruce Bialosky

Hi, I’m Dave.
Until recently I was a full-time employee and had a very good job.In fact most years we were so busy I worked some long hours and received some significant bonuses from my employer. But now I have been freed from having to spend so much time supporting my family.Because of some great new policies from our government, I am now working part-time and spending more time with my family. It has been an adjustment. When I told my wife the exciting news that I would spending more time at home, initially she wasn’t delighted. She sure seemed like she did not want me around. She asked how we were going to put the money away for the kids’ college educations.I was a little surprised she was not more focused on the time we could spend together, working on our relationship. She seemed like she thought having me at work was more beneficial for us.Then I told her about all the neat government programs that would help the kids pay for college.Plus, I am confident we will grow closer as we have more quality time together.I did point out we may have less money to spend, but sharing time was what life was all about. The kids were really excited to hear about me being around a lot more.Kinda.Madison asked if I really was not going to work. When I told her it would give us more time to get to know each other, she said “Dad, get real.I’m like really busy with school and my friends.Maybe soon.”And then she stared at her phone and said she was having a conversation with a friend.Buddy Boy was a lot more receptive.I told him I could now learn how to play those video games and we could play together. He said, “Hey, don’t you think it would be geekish for me to be playing video games with my old man?”When I told him no, he turned and closed the door to his room.I am sure once he warms up to the idea we will have a blast together. I went on and found out that my income is now going to be lower so I qualify for some really big subsidies. As long as I don’t go back to working full-time, the government will pay for over half of my family’s health insurance. All I have to do is just keep my work at the current reduced level and we will have some great coverage.I can even pick up some work on the side (if you know what I mean) and not have it affect my ability to have the government pay for most all our health insurance.Once I figured it out, we are really better off with me working less and staying home more. Then with my new free time I found a speech that Mrs. Obama gave to college students. She told them “Don’t leave money on the table.”This was regarding getting student aid that she told them did not have to be paid back.Pondering that I thought why not me?So I applied for Food Stamps -- thankfully now called SNAP -- and it makes me feel so much better.I was really surprised to find out that at my new income level that we qualify as a family. The nice people at the SNAP office told me there are other state and federal programs I qualify for to help underwrite my new reduced income. For example, they will help pay for my utilities. While I was so busy working I never realized there were so many programs to help people.I have researched it and found there are over 100 programs to help pay for me.How stupid I feel working hard all these years when I could have been home and the government would pay for all these things. As I begin my new less demanding life, I am really just beginning to explore the universe I am now part of each day.Who knew I could work so little and still get all this stuff from the government?President Obama, thank you for freeing me from the burden of having to work so hard to support my family. Now I just have to get my family used to having me around. And find something to do with my time. I’m Dave, and I love this new America.

Don't Tread on Me!

On this day in 1724, the “Sam Adams of the South” is born. You may not know this Patriot’s full name, but you have certainly seen the flag named after him!
Christopher Gadsden was nothing if not a fiery patriot. He was among the first to see the need for a declaration of independence. He led the Sons of Liberty in Charleston, S.C., and he rallied his fellow citizens to oppose the Stamp Act passed by the British Parliament. In 1766, he wrote a column in the South-Carolina Gazette and Country Journal. At the head of his column, in bold letters, was the phrase “Aut mors aut libertas”—Liberty or Death! Patrick Henry’s use of the phrase would popularize the expression, later. But Gadsden used it earlier. Indeed, one early historian of the American Revolution, David Ramsay, spoke of the “decisive genius of Christopher Gadsden in the south, and of John Adams in the north.” If that genius had prevailed, Ramsay noted, then perhaps separation from England would have occurred earlier than it did. Gadsden served in the first Continental Congresses in 1774 through 1776. During that time, he served on the Naval Committee (later renamed the Marine Committee). He is credited with designing a personal standard for Esek Hopkins, the commander of the Continental Navy fleet. You guessed it! That flag was a yellow field with a coiled snake and the words “Don’t Tread on Me” emblazoned across the bottom. Later, Gadsden was taken prisoner when the British laid siege to Charleston in 1780. He was held in solitary confinement for 42 weeks. He was eventually freed, but he never really recovered his health. Yet another great Patriot that has gone largely unnoticed in American history textbooks.

Needed: An Attorney General for Americans who are not among Holder’s “people”

Flopping Aces ^ | 02-16-14 | DrJohn

holder serve his people In the latter days of the Clinton administration Eric Holder engineered the pardons of Marc Rich and the FALN terrorists. In the early 2000's Holder was a senior partner in the law firm Covington & Burling. Covington & Burling was one of the law firms that had no interest in defending any US soldiers accused of misdeeds in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars but it couldn't do enough pro bono work for Gitmo detainees, successfully securing the release of one of them:
One of the class of Yemeni Gitmo detainees that Falkoff described as “gentle, thoughtful young men” was released in 2005—only to blow himself up (gently and thoughtfully, of course) in a truck bombing in Mosul, Iraq, in 2008, killing 13 soldiers from the 2nd Iraqi Army division and seriously wounding 42 others.

Holder has done work he'd probably rather you didn't know about:
One wonders what the Obamas would say about Holder’s lucrative work for Chiquita Brands International if it had been performed by, say, John McCain’s top lawyer? As chief counsel for the global company, Holder won a “slap-on-the-wrist plea deal to charges that it had paid off” Colombian paramilitary death squads. Liberal critics of Holder point out that he used his influence as a former Clinton Justice Department official to negotiate a sweetheart deal for Chiquita. The company pleaded guilty to illegally doing business with the “Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia” or AUC (designated as an international terrorist organization by the State Department in 2001). Chiquita admitted negotiating with and forking over $1.7 million in protection racket money to the guerillas beginning in 1997. AUC terrorists slaughtered thousands of civilians to gain control of Colombia’s banana fields.

There were rumors of Holder departing the Obama regime, but an article at The Hill suggests otherwise:
The attorney general’s position has looked perilous at various points during his tenure. But these days, he seems resurgent, pushing states to strike down voting restrictions on ex-felons and fighting hard to restore some of the key powers of the Voting Rights Act. It has been an uphill climb. In 2012, Holder became the first attorney general to be held in contempt by the House of Representatives while, the year before, he had to retreat from his earlier insistence that suspects in the September 11, 2001 attacks should be tried in criminal court in New York. Holder has been a consistent conservative target throughout his time in office, with issues from the Fast and Furious scandal to his stance on the Voting Rights Act raising the ire of the right. Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) has sponsored a resolution in the House with 140 co-sponsors calling for Holder’s immediate resignation.

Holder has absolutely no interest in the rights of conservatives and no particular interest in the rights of whites. During his confirmation hearings Holder told us that hate crime laws do not protect whites from hate crimes. Holder made things very clear when he blurted out "my people." That spelled it out. America consists of "his people" and "not his people." If you're not "his people", you're dog meat. There's more here. He does, however, have great interest in the rights of foreigners and minority felons. Holder wants felons to be able to vote and it's patently obvious why: (Excerpt) Read more at
