Trump wins the media war, battle by battle

The Washington Times ^ | July 2, 2017 | Jennifer Harper

There is a reason why the mainstream news media and the Democratic Party are in an uproar: They’ve been left out of the political equation by a player who understands the game better than they do. And that player is President Trump, who has conducted a masterful war against his media foes over the last 72 hours, launching a series of strategic tweets that deemed the hostile press not only “fake” but “fraudulent.”
The president himself declared that he was the victor to his 31 million Twitter followers, adding one more telling tweet that summarizes his very effective skill set: “My use of social media is not Presidential — it’s MODERN DAY PRESIDENTIAL,” Mr. Trump advised.
“Trump is Trump. He does what he does, which is what he did during the campaign and before. And now, in the White House, he has enlisted his media adversaries, wittingly or not, in a campaign against ‘fake news’ that resonates with his core supporters,” writes Byron York, a columnist for the Washington Examiner, who says that those who engage in “sloppy fights” with Mr. Trump often emerge diminished in the aftermath.
“President Trump knows how to communicate directly with his supporters by using Twitter and having campaign-style rallies. His supporters like this because they see President Trump fight the mainstream media,” writes J. Marsalo, a contributor to American Thinker, who adds that journalists fear Mr. Trump is making them irrelevant.....

UN Warns Trump – US Can Be Replaced, Cough Up The Cash (absolute BS)

Rick Wells.us ^ | 6/22/2017 | Rick Wells

Warnings to the United States are being issued by the globalist leech in charge at the UN, Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. On Tuesday, the open borders communist operative cautioned President Trump that we could be replaced. We should be so fortunate and ought to, in fact, work to help guarantee that happens. There must be plenty of countries around the world ready to take on the “developing nations” as national dependents, though they may have to “sweeten the deal” with a little slave labor or territory, something that isn’t presently required.
Guterres told reporters at his first press conference since taking over the UN on January 1st, that the new funding levels proposed by the United States would be disastrous and create, “an unsolvable problem to the management of the U.N.” Can it be possible there is a problem that the globalists can’t solve? How obvious has it become that their “problem solving” is based solely upon the model of throwing American money at a problem? If the cash flow is restricted they can’t function.
Guterres, who was previously in charge of the UN’s global human trafficking operations as United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, boasts of his willingness to engage in confrontations with the America-first President. He brags about his vocal opposition to America’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Welfare scam as if opposing what ultimately took place is in itself some sort of victory. It’s called losing, Antonio. Grasping at face-saving straws, he said the Democrats’ empty promises to act in place of the federal government are “a signal of hope that we very much encourage.” That “signal of hope” and ten bucks will get you a cup of water with free Wi-Fi at Starbucks, Guterres.

Supreme Court Case Could Have Huge Impact on Who Wins Future Elections

Rolling Stone ^ | June 23, 2017 | David S. Cohen

What do you think is the most important issue in American politics today? Criminal justice reform? Health care? Global climate change? Immigration? Gay rights? Economic justice? ISIS? Creeping totalitarianism?
All of those things (and more!) are incredibly important, but they may all be secondary to something else: gerrymandering. And earlier this week, the Supreme Court announced that it was going to decide a case that could potentially reform the practice entirely.
For those not familiar with the term, gerrymandering is the process by which state legislators draw voting district boundaries, for both congressional and state legislature districts. That sounds pretty boring, but in essence the power to draw voting district boundaries is, in many situations, akin to the power to determine who wins elections.
This process usually happens every 10 years, and the party in control of the state legislature is, in most states, the one that's in charge. In theory, re-drawing boundaries happens in order to balance the districts with population changes. Every 10 years, the census data is released, so if a district has grown in size, then the boundaries need to change so that each district in the state has roughly the same number of voters.....

Joe and Mika, wallowing in the mud

americanthinker ^ | July 1, 2017 | Patricia McCarthy

As surely as Ted Kennedy set out to destroy Robert Bork, our left has set out to destroy Trump.

Kennedy's campaign to ruin Bork succeeded; he ruined the career of a fine and brilliant man.
And what was Ted Kennedy? A coward of incomparable proportions; he let a woman die rather than be caught in an affair and then went on to collude with the Soviet KGB.
The left thinks Trump is a cad, a misogynist! The Kennedys and the Clintons make Trump look like an altar boy. That truth is just another reason why they hate him so much.
Joe Scarborough and Mika Brezenski are nothing more than a couple of drones of the left. Not many people watch their program so Trump's tweet was a boon for their ratings but that won't last. They are boring and pathetic. They have for many months covered themselves with mud in their feeble attempt to smear Trump.
Unlike the passive George W., Trump smeared back and they are shocked! Shocked that he could be so un-presidential. Un-presidential his response to their daily venom may be but they earned it. Trump was ever so justified. Some of their mud may have stuck to Trump but Joe, Mika and the rest of the MSM are wallowing in it.

Trump, Congress Should Halt Transgender Military Policy That Costs Billions

CNS News ^ | June 30, 2017 | Peter Sprigg

Last year, without any systematic study of the consequences, the Obama administration reversed longstanding policies that excluded those who identify as transgender, on both psychological and medical grounds, from serving in the U.S. military. The armed services immediately stopped discharging existing service members who suffer from gender dysphoria (unhappiness with their biological sex at birth). Phase Two of this policy—allowing persons who identify as transgender to join the military—was scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2017.
Family Research Council has now calculated both the direct medical costs and the cost of lost deployable time, and concluded that the transgender policy could cost taxpayers up to $3.7 billion over the next ten years.
The Williams Institute, a pro-LGBT think tank, estimates that there are currently 7,300 biological males and 1,500 biological females with gender dysphoria serving on active duty in the military. FRC used data from the National Transgender Discrimination Survey to calculate how many of those would seek surgery. Under the military’s new policy, all eligible service members will receive 100 percent of their “necessary” care—including gender reassignment surgery and hormone therapy—at no cost to the service member.
According to data from the Philadelphia Center for Transgender Surgery, a comprehensive package of male-to-female surgical procedures would cost $110,450, and female-to-male procedures would cost $89,050. Adding the cost of counseling and hormone therapy—which must continue indefinitely after surgery—would result in a total cost of medical interventions for current active duty service members of nearly $1 billion over the next ten years. These calculations do not include additional possible expenses, such as electrolysis (hair removal) and voice therapy or vocal surgery.
Service members will also be unavailable for deployment for several months after surgery—adding $504.3 million in cost to replace them. Service members who have had reassignment surgery or hormone therapy may actually be permanently non-deployable, because they require specialized medical care which may not be available everywhere in the world. Adding on similar costs for new recruits who identify as transgender yields a total estimated cost for the new transgender policy of nearly $2 billion ($1.88 billion) over ten years. (The additional administrative costs of preparing and overseeing individualized care plans for each service member who identifies as transgender, the costs of training the entire force regarding the new policy, and the loss of time associated with that training, have not been included in these estimates.)
Service members undergoing gender transition will also be permitted to take leave from the military for one full year prior to surgery, for a “real life experience” living as the desired gender. The cost of this lost time would total nearly $1.8 billion, for existing service members and new recruits, over ten years.
If these direct and indirect costs are all included, the total cost rises to $3.7 billion over ten years. Consider some examples of what that money could buy instead:
- 1 AEGIS Destroyer ($3.5 billion)
- 22 F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Planes ($166.7 million each)
- 116 Chinook Helicopters ($31.8 million each); or
- 3,700 Tomahawk missiles ($1 million each).
Family Research Council has concerns about the psychological fitness of persons who identify as transgender to serve (because of high levels of psychopathology within that population), and about the effect of allowing people to present themselves as the opposite of their biological sex on good order and discipline, readiness, recruitment, and retention.
However, the financial costs alone are reason enough to put a halt to this policy. Both the Trump administration and Congress should act to postpone implementation of the July 1 transgender recruitment policy, and ultimately roll back a policy that promotes political correctness at the expense of military readiness.

Why the generation after millennials will vote Republican

The New York Post ^ | July 1, 2017 | Salena Zito

ERIE, PA — Max Bloomstine has a positive view of the nation’s growing diversity, believes the American dream is attainable (but doesn’t believe he’s entitled to it) and is more into the “we” instead of the “me.”
He is politically independent but leans conservative, attends church on a regular basis, and views his parents — not sports figures or celebrities — as role models.
Right now, though, two things weigh heavily on his mind: where to attend college next year (It’s either going to be the University of Pittsburgh or Rochester) and working on a summer job.
“I am a good entrepreneur when it comes to online gaming administration,” he said.
Say hello to Generation Z, the most recent to come of age. It is the youth of America, with its oldest members in their early 20s.
Sometimes referred to as the iGeneration, as they literally grew up with technology and social media in their hands, they are poised to dramatically change the cultural, economic and political landscape for some time to come.
Born between 1996 and 2010, they are very similar to their Gen X parents, that small, pragmatic generation that fell between the larger baby boomer and millennial generations.
“Gen Z actually like and trust their parents, who have been transparent with them, much more than any generation before,” said Jeff Brauer, a political-science professor at Keystone College in suburban Scranton, Pa., who has produced one of the first comprehensive studies on the next generation.
Analyzing research from Wright State University in Ohio on 1,200 Generation Z students at 15 colleges and universities across the country, Brauer also used exit polling from CNN and census data to draw his conclusions.....

RHODE ISLAND HAD 150,000 FAKE VOTERS – AND HILLARY WON THE STATE BY 70,000!

Today Dispatch ^

Oops!

Apparently, the state of Rhode Island had 150,000 people incorrectly placed on their voter rolls and nobody noticed.

During the November election, the state had a total of 781,770 registered voters. That’s even after Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea purged the rolls of almost 65,000 names. Then she declared another 30,000 voters as “inactive.”

Still, there were 150,000 more names of “fake” voters.

U.S. to Arrest Parents, Sponsors Who Hire Smugglers to Bring Children Across Border!

Wall Street Journal ^ | 06/30/2017 | Associated Press

The Trump administration said Friday it will begin arresting parents and others who hire smugglers to bring children into the U.S., in an effort to break up human-trafficking operations.
The new “surge initiative” by Immigration and Customs Enforcement marks the latest get-tough approach to immigration by the federal government since President Donald Trump took office.
It is also a sharp departure from policies in place under President Barack Obama, during which tens of thousands of young people crossed the border illegally. The children were then placed with sponsors—typically parents, close relatives or family friends—who cared for the minors while their cases moved through the immigration court system.
The government said it plans to arrest the sponsors.
“ICE aims to disrupt and dismantle end-to-end the illicit pathways used by transnational criminal organizations and human-smuggling facilitators,” agency spokeswoman Sarah Rodriguez said. “The sponsors who have placed children directly into harm’s way by entrusting them to violent criminal organizations will be held accountable.”
Immigrant advocacy groups said they were investigating a dozen arrests that may involve sponsors, including the arrest of an unaccompanied child’s brother in Texas, as well as other cases in New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
-----------------------------------------------------
Immigration enforcement was a centerpiece of Mr. Trump’s presidential run, and he has sought to carry through on his campaign promises by cracking down on people in the country illegally. He has vowed to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border and go after “sanctuary cities” that enact favorable policies toward immigrants, while emboldening ICE to arrest more people.
Since October 2013, nearly 170,000 unaccompanied minors have been placed with sponsors in all 50 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and many are still awaiting their day in court, according to federal data.
