Sons of Climategate: Dodgy Scientists Caught Red-Handed by FOIA Lawsuit

The dodgy scientists who wrote to resident Obama and Attorney General Loretta Lynch demanding that RICO laws be used to prosecute climate skeptics just got even more badly screwed.
Already one of them — George Mason University professor Jagadish Shukla — is under Congressional investigation for what has been described as the “largest science scandal in US history.”
Now the background to their footling conspiracy has been exposed thanks to a FOIA request by the Competitive Enterprise Institute which has forced them to release their private letters and emails.
Like Climategate, it makes for some fascinating reading, mainly because — yet again — it shows the climate alarmist establishment in such a terrible light.
Remember, these guys are supposed to be the experts on whose judgment our political leaders base their policies; every year they snaffle millions and millions of dollars worth of grant funding courtesy of the U.S. taxpayer — some of them may even be teaching your kids.

Socialism Is Dying Everywhere — Except The U.S.

Around the world, nations that have been foolish enough to adopt socialist policies either collapsed or well on their way to doing so. Why, then, are so many in the U.S. enthralled with the idea?
Countries in direst economic shape have one thing in common: They rely on top-down socialist control to run their economies.
There are no long-term socialist success stories. None.
France, for instance, elected a socialist, Francois Hollande, as president in 2012. Today, France suffers a 10.3% jobless rate and 25% youth unemployment. Growth is less than 1%.
Brazil impeached Socialist President Dilma Rousseff for corruption, but her damage to the economy will last. As recently as 2010, Brazil was considered a bright star, awarded both an Olympics and a World Cup because of it. Rousseff’s massive borrowing and spending choked the economy, GDP shrank 3.8% and joblessness soared.
Venezuela’s nightmare. After the death of socialist dictator Hugo Chavez, his successor kept socialist policies in place. Today Venezuela is falling apart. Venezuelans now forage dirty streets for food — including stray dogs and cats.
Argentina’s economy was run into the ground by leftist populist President Cristina Kirchner. Newly elected centrist President Mauricio Macri has stabilized the economy, fixed the nation’s finances, and has returned to global debt markets for the first time since the nation defaulted 15 years ago.
Socialism is a failure, a brutal one. In its name, during the 21st century, millions of people were impoverished and disenfranchised, while over 100 million were murdered.
And yet, as Europe and South America move away from socialism, some in the U.S. embrace it. Polls show socialism is popular among millennials, and many young Americans support socialist Bernie Sanders for president.
Sadly, the left will never face the reality of their utopian central control’s failure everywhere.”

Obama, the Potty Bully

With a few strokes of a keyboard, President Obama is seeking to change the daily experience of thousands upon thousands of schoolchildren by ordering all U.S. schools to allow transgender students access to the restroom of their choice.
He sent a letter stating his progressive decree to the nation’s schools Friday morning — threatening schools not just with legislation but with a loss of funding if they fail to comply.
The New York Times had an early copy of the letter, from which it excerpted the following, which essentially bans the one-stall bathroom option: “A school may not require transgender students to use facilities inconsistent with their gender identity or to use individual-user facilities when other students are not required to do so.”
“It does not have the force of law,” The Times reports of the letter, “but it contains an implicit threat: Schools that do not abide by the Obama administration’s interpretation of the law could face lawsuits or a loss of federal aid.”
The letter is addressed to all schools that receive federal funding, including 16,500 school districts and 7,000 colleges, universities, and trade schools. It also applies to charter schools, for-profit schools, libraries, and museums that receive federal aid, USA Today reports.
One Boston, Massachusetts, father told LifeZette that he was “stunned,” and said, “I need to call my kids’ school and get the facts, but we will not be quiet in the face of this. My first reaction is to say that Obama was scared by the pushback that Americans gave Target when they essentially did the same thing to their customers. He knows that the way to subvert the will of the people is to use the power of his office. ...

Obama Admin Rule Forces Hospitals, Doctors Accepting Federal Funds to Provide Gender Transition

The Obama administration is capping off a week of forcing Americans to accept gender ideology as normal with a final rule on Obamacare’s nondiscrimination policies in healthcare.
The rule will require physicians, hospitals, insurers, and other healthcare entities that receive federal funds — such as Medicare and Medicaid — to include gender transition treatments and even abortion among their services for the alleged sake of “equity.”
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued the final rule on Obamacare’s (Affordable Care Act’s) Section 1557 Friday, stating it will “help to advance equity and reduce health disparities by protecting some of the populations that have been most vulnerable to discrimination in the health care context.”

Hillary Clinton’s long road ahead

Hillary Clinton’s second inevitable triumphal march to the Democratic nomination is even more depressing than her first one. At least eight years ago there was an ascendant star, a rare political phenom, with a smooth manner and glitzy style. Once Obama got traction there really was no way to stop him. To paraphrase one of his own gnomic gems: he was the one everyone was waiting for.

This time it is so different. This time Hillary may finally get the nomination — after a life in politics, cashing in on a generation or two of IOUs, deploying her army of gender warriors, leaning on her cohorts in the liberal press, dusting off Bill and sending him out to rouse or agitate the dwindling number of true believers. She has every possible means of campaign support, from the fear she inspires among her allies, to the Clinton hold on much of the party, to some of the most wicked campaign doctors in the business, all fused and fired by her own ardent, fever-ridden ambition and preternatural sense of pure entitlement. Remember:

But with all that, and with the lock on the numbers she strong-boxed from the outset — those mummified super delegates — she is barely crawling her way to the convention, being bested in primary after primary, by one of the most unlikely, ungainly, unhip and unscripted candidates in a presidential election ever: the awesome socialist septuagenarian Bernie Sanders.

Female WWII Pilots Approved For Burial At Arlington Cemetery

Congress has approved a burial plot in Arlington National Cemetery for women who served as pilots during WWII. The women served as Women Airforce Service Pilots, or WASP. They flew noncombat and training missions, but their jobs weren't entirely without danger--38 women died in service. Despite this, they weren't considered to be veterans until 1977, when federal law changed to acknowledge their service. Even still, the Army revoked the right of WASP to be buried at Arlington in 2015. Pending President Obama's signature, that will change shortly.
The legislation to reinstate their eligibility was introduced by Rep. Martha McSally (R-AZ).

[...]the WASP spent years fighting to win status as war veterans before a federal law finally recognized their military service in 1977. As veterans, the WASP had been eligible for years to have their ashes buried in Arlington National Cemetery. But that changed last year, when the Army revoked their right to be laid to rest in the veterans cemetery, citing limited space.
"The Army is giving some bureaucratic answer that makes absolutely no sense," said Rep. Martha McSally, R-Ariz., on Here & Now in March. McSally introduced the legislation to allow the WASP the honor of being buried at Arlington.
"These women should have been active duty at the time," McSally said. "The requirements to being in Arlington are very clear: To have your ashes inurned you have to have served on active duty and you have to have been honorably discharged. And they meet that criteria retroactively."

About 100 women who served in WASP are still alive.
This is fantastic news. These women served their country during a time of need, and should be recognized as such. Roles in the military for women were extremely limited in the 1940s--and these women did what they were able to do, bravely.

Probe catches agency in corrupt deals to help Syrian refugees!

NGO that gets tens of millions in U.S. taxpayer money to resettle foreign refugees into dozens of U.S. cities is being investigated for corruption involving contracts with Turkish companies.
The International Rescue Committee is one of the nine volunteer aid agencies, also called VOLAGs, that contract with the federal government to resettle refugees into the United States from Syria, Somalia, Burma, Iraq, Bhutan, Afghanistan and elsewhere.
New York-based IRC, headed by former British Foreign Secretary David Miliband, is being investigated by the Office of the Inspector General within the U.S. Agency for International Development for bid rigging and bribery that allegedly took place among its staff members lining up supplies and services for displaced Syrians in Turkey, according to government documents turned over to WND from the Inspector General’s Office.
In November 2013, Miliband’s organization gave billionaire George Soros its highest award, the Freedom Award, and Soros responded by donating $1 million to the IRC.
Miliband is also a close friend of Hillary Clinton, who was secretary of state at the same time he was foreign secretary.
