After Lynch Pressure, Comey Agreed To Mislead Public In Accordance With Clinton Campaign

Hidden Americans ^ | 06/08/2017 | Richard Saunders

During the Senate Intel hearing Thursday, former FBI director James Comey revealed that during the 2016 election, then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch ordered him to downplay the investigation into Hillary Clinton by calling it a "matter" instead of a criminal investigation and Comey obliged.
Comey mislead the entire country to go along with the Clinton campaign talking points. He's a democrat shill that bowed down to political pressure to protect Hillary Clinton.
Senator Lankford probed Comey saying," And then you made a comment earlier about the Attorney General, previous AG [Lynch] asking you about the investigation on the Clinton emails, saying that you were asked not to call it an 'Investigation' anymore, but to call it a 'Matter.' And you said that confused you. Can you give us additional details on that?"
Comey replied, "Well, it concerned me, because we were at the point where we refused to confirm the existence of an investigation --as we usually do-- for months,. And it was getting to a place where that looked silly, because the campaigns were talking about interacting with the FBI in the course of our work.
The Clinton campaign at the time was using all kinds of euphemisms, 'security review,' 'matter.' Things like that.
For what was going on. We were getting to a place where the Attorney General and I were going to have to testify and talk publicly about it, and I wanted to know if she would authorize us to confirm we had an investigation. And she said yes, but don't call it that, call it a 'Matter.' And I said why would I do that? And [Lynch] said just call it a 'Matter.'
And again, you look back in hindsight, should I have resisted more? I just said this wasn't a hill worth dying on, so I said, okay, the press is going to completely ignore it, and that is what happened. When I said we opened a matter, they all reported the FBI had an investigation open. And that concerned me because the language tracked the way the campaign was talking about the FBI's work, and that is concerning... It gave the impression that the Attorney General was looking to align the way we talked about our work with the way a political campaign was describing the same activity, which was inaccurate. We had a criminal investigation open... And so that gave me a queasy feeling."

Gregg Jarrett: Comey exonerates Trump – so much for obstruction (good read)

Fox News ^ | June 8, 2017 | Gregg Jarrett

James Comey’s public testimony exonerates President Trump of obstruction of justice.
To put it simply, “hoping” that something happens is not a crime. The law demands much more than that. Felony obstruction requires that the person seeking to obstruct a law enforcement investigation act “corruptly.” The statute specifically defines what that includes: threats, lies, bribes, destruction of documents, and altering or concealing evidence. None of that is alleged by Comey.
Instead, the fired FBI Director recounts how President Trump expressed compassion for the man he dismissed as his National Security Adviser, calling Michael Flynn “a good guy” who “has been through a lot.” Comey agreed. Then the president said, “I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go.”
The president’s statement is not an order or mandate. It is not even a “request,” though Comey insists he understood it to be. But even if we construe it as such, it is not enough to constitute obstruction. Not even close. There must be a “corrupt” act that accompanies the directive.
For example, if the president had said, “Bury whatever incriminating evidence you have, exonerate Flynn, and terminate the investigation of him entirely… or I will fire you.” That is, arguably, obstruction. It includes two corrupt elements –a threat and concealing evidence. However, this is not what happened.
Comey knows all this. Sen. James Risch, R-Idaho, posed the key question: “Do you know of any case in which someone has been charged with obstruction based on the word ‘hope’?” Comey answered, “I don’t.” On that point, Comey is correct.

FBI: Handgun Murders Dropped when These States Abolished Concealed Permit Requirements! ^ | 6/7/2017 | AWR Hawkins

FBI crime report figures show that Alaska, Arizona, and Wyoming–three states that abolished their concealed requirement years ago–have since witnessed a decreased in handgun murders.

This runs completely counter to the left’s doom and gloom predictions whereby they claim doing away with a government-issued carry permit will mean more bad guys carrying guns, more shootings and violence, etc.

FBI figures published by the NRA show that Alaska’s handgun murder rate “declined after the state enacted permitless carry in 2003.”

Moreover, in the years since Alaska’s permit requirement was abolished “handgun murders have declined as a percentage of the total number of murders.”

The Week we Learned that Leftists Are Horrible People

Flopping Aces ^ | 06-07-17 | Brother Bob

It's amazing how insanely short the news cycle has become under President Trump. Remember when the Radical Left lost their collective minds over our president's decision to not transfer gobs of American wealth to 3rd world dictators and warlords while giving India and China a massive competitive edge over the American economy? That was less than a week ago, and already seems like an eternity has passed as the Radical Left has moved back to Chicken Little mode, howling that Russia is falling.
At any rate, I didn't get the time to write this post as quickly as I would have liked, but I didn't forget and this is too telling to let drop. If you caught what has become my weekly roundup in Radical Leftism for the week ending 6/2 one of the items I featured was The Federalist's Bre Payton's collection of 15 insane reactions to America's withdrawal from the Paris deal. I noticed this across Facebook and Twitter, but I haven't seen Leftists in this kind of purple faced rage since... what was it one week, two? Anyway, I decided to look at the Twitter timelines of the fifteen feeds Payton listed versus how they reacted to children being slaughtered in Manchester the week before.
1. Billionaire sugar daddy for radical leftist causes, Tom Steyer:

On Manchester all that he had was a lukewarm retweet from some weak-kneed has been:
Scientific American

I have to admit, that based on the nature of the publication I wasn't expecting anything on the Manchester attacks and would have given these guys a pass had they ignored the story.  Not quite.

I have to admit a few of the points in the linked article weren't bad, although some were. And unfortunately there was no mention of the science behind which forms of ordnance are the most effective at transforming terrorists into hamburger.
Washington Post - no tweet, just this completely rational statement
The prospect of an enormous iceberg afloat in the seas around Antarctica could draw further attention to the threat of climate change at a time when President Trump is considering whether to exit the Paris agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
And since that particular author only writes about theology (of the Climate Cult variety), I went to other general coverage in The Post.
Manchester police chief reports increase in hate crimes since attack
Yes, we should be concerned about offending people who want to kill us.

California Use to be a STATE, NOT A COUNTRY!

 by hapnHal

Jerry, (GET HELP). California use to be a STATE, NOT A COUNTRY!

With President Donald Trump pulling the U.S. out of the Paris climate accord, China and California signed an agreement Tuesday to work together on reducing emissions, as the state's governor warned that "disaster still looms" without urgent action.
Gov. Jerry Brown told The Associated Press at an international clean energy conference in Beijing that Trump's decision to pull the U.S. out of the Paris agreement will ultimately prove only a temporary setback.
For now, he said, China, European countries and individual U.S. states will fill the gap left by the federal government's move to abdicate leadership on the issue.
"Nobody can stay on the sidelines. We can't afford any dropouts in the tremendous human challenge to make the transition to a sustainable future," Brown said. "Disaster still looms and we've got to make the turn."
Brown later held a closed-door meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, during which the two pledged to expand trade between California and China with an emphasis on so-called green technologies that could help address climate change, Brown said. Trump's announcement last week that he wants to pull out of the Paris accord did not come up, according to the governor.

“Cease and Desist” Global Warming Hoax, says Founder of Weather Channel John Coleman

Fairfax Free Citizen ^ | June 8, 2017 | Jonathon Moseley

Diligent observers of news and politics already know that the idea of man-made global warming is rejected as a hoax by the founder of the Weather Channel, John Coleman. However, a video released by Coleman and news interviews provide valuable resources and specific details for better understanding the public controversy over the possibility that human activity is causing climate disruption.
Coleman produced and released an informational video titled “How the Global Warming Scare Began” which is extremely detailed and a great resource. Although it has been available for a few years, the information has been ignored in the global warming debate until recently re-published by Mark Simone on WOR radio out of New York here:
Coleman issued a ‘cease and desist’ letter to “The Scientists and Organizations that take 4.7 Billion Tax Dollars a year to continue Global Warming research.” (See video starting at time 4:20).
"please cease and desist the global warming and climate change scare campaign. … The four point seven billion dollars of our tax money a year being issued to you and your organizations to is funding a wide range of meaningless studies based upon the bad science of carbon dioxide radiative forcing warming. … Your manipulated climate computer models have dramatically failed both in temperature predictions and predicted warming signatures. Please admit your errors."
Coleman chastises the Weather Channel which he founded. He explains how he extensively investigated the hypothesis of global warming and found it to be false, even though he insists that if it were true he would certainly want to protect the planet at all costs. He points out that those promoting climate alarmism are being funded to spread the alarm with $4.7 billion per year of government funding.
