Trump is Right, DNC Did ‘Collude’ With Clinton — They Basically Admitted It

Law Newz ^ | 6/25/17 | Rachel Stockman

In another early morning tweet, President Donald Trump once again harkened back to the election — this time to accuse the Democratic National Committee of colluding with the Clinton campaign. While critics have blasted Trump for his “fake news” tweets, this time he might actually have a point. In fact, in recent court filings, attorneys for the Democratic National Committee basically conceded this point.

A lawsuit, filed by Bernie backers in Florida, seeks to answer that very question. Is the DNC legally allowed to collude with Clinton? Did they violate DNC rules by allegedly favoring her?
“The DNC was biased in favor of one candidate – Hillary Clinton – from the beginning and throughout the process,” the plaintiffs wrote in their original lawsuit filed last July. The complaint alleges fraud, as well as negligence as it relates to a Russian Hack on the DNC server. The Bernie backers contend that the trove of DNC emails posted by Wikileaks further proves that the Democratic Party was working against Bernie Sanders from the start.
In order to get the case dismissed, attorneys for the DNC have utilized some very clever lawyering — and in the process basically confirmed every Bernie backers’ worst fear — that the DNC was biased against their man. The attorneys, in a motion to dismiss, argued that Sanders’ supporters donated knowing that the DNC favored Hillary Clinton, and therefore the lawsuit should be thrown out.
“Indeed, publicly available information demonstrates that several proposed class representatives made donations in spite of—indeed, in many cases likely because they accepted as true—the claims of bias,” the DNC’s response reads.
The filing goes on to give some examples:
For example, Rick Washik, donated to the Sanders Campaign between February 2016 and June 2016, months after posting a link to a petition that claimed that Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz was biased. Catherine Cyko, donated to the Sanders Campaign between February 28, 2016 and June 30, 2016, after she posted an article accusing the DNC of bias Marlowe St. Cloud Primacy made her first reported donation to the Sanders Campaign on March 8, 2016, several days after posting an article accusing the DNC of bias. H. Rosalie Consiglio, made her first reported donation to the Sanders Campaign a week after posting an article accusing the DNC of bias. And Sean Lynch, a proposed class representative for the DNC Donor Class, announced in a June 17, 2016 post he “donated three bucks to the Dem party so [he] can participate in the class action law suit against them.” Ex. K. This sample demonstrates that, aside from not being actionable, Plaintiffs’ theory that donors relied upon Defendants’ statements about neutrality to make donations they would not have otherwise made is not plausible
So basically, the theory is that because there Bernie backers knew that the DNC was biased (or thought it was), they weren’t duped, and therefore the lawsuit has no merit. At last check, a judge has not made a ruling on the motion to dismiss, and the litigation is ongoing. Trump has been accused of forgetting to consult his lawyers before he tweets, but this time it appears the DNC lawyers did the same with their P.R. team before picking that legal strategy. The legal maneuver might work for a judge, but in the court of public opinion, it reeks of collusion.

In 10-years Your IPhone Won't Be A Phone Anymore

wsj ^ | June 25, 2017 | Christopher Mims

It's 2027, and you're walking down the street, confident you'll arrive at your destination even though you don't know where it is. You may not even remember why your device is telling you to go there.
There's a voice in your ear giving you turn-by-turn directions and, in between, prepping you for this meeting. Oh, right, you're supposed to be interviewing a dog whisperer for your pet-psychiatry business. You arrive at the coffee shop, look around quizzically, and a woman you don’t recognize approaches. A display only you can see highlights her face and prints her name next to it in crisp block lettering, Terminator-style. Afterward, you'll get an automatically generated transcript of everything the two of you said.
As the iPhone this week marks the 10th anniversary of its first sale, it remains one of the most successful consumer products in history. But by the time it celebrates its 20th anniversary, the "phone" concept will be entirely uprooted: That dog-whisperer scenario will be brought to you even if you don’t have an iPhone in your pocket.
Sure, Apple AAPL 0.45% may still sell a glossy rectangle. (At that point, iPhones may also be thin and foldable, or roll up into scrolls like ancient papyri.) But the suite of apps and services that is today centered around the physical iPhone will have migrated to other, more convenient and equally capable devices—a "body area network" of computers, batteries and sensors residing on our wrists, in our ears, on our faces and who knows where else. We'll find ourselves leaving the iPhone behind more and more often.
Trying to predict where technology will be in a decade may be a fool's errand, but how often do we get to tie up so many emerging trends in a neat package? VIDEO

Absolute Liberal Insanity: Combat White Supremacy With More Abortions

newsbusters ^ | June 24, 2017 | Corinne Weaver

Listen up, America! The feminist left wants you to know that the solution to the white supremacy plague, that began when the pilgrims hit Plymouth Rock, is more white abortions. In fact, “the white family unit must be destroyed.”

In an article published by Medusa Magazine, (a magazine whose website is headed by the slogan “Feminist Revolution Now!”) columnist Nicole Valentine argued that the concept of abortion is something that is radically misunderstood. The pro-choice argument that abortion is a constitutional right inherently implies that it is an idea rooted in white supremacist thought. Why?
Because the Constitution “was drafted and signed by white men, for white men.” This is why there are so many shootings and hate crimes in the United States, in her opinion. Somehow, the author completely forgot that one of the Supreme Court Justices who aided the Roe v. Wade decision was Thurgood Marshall, the first African American justice on the Court. So. . .is abortion still a hate crime against “women of color” if the decision made was by a relatively diverse Supreme Court?
The author tried to say that “women of color” are not granted the same access to abortion facilities as white women are, since apparently the United States is based on a mentality that only the health of the white woman should be preserved. Valentine is here to tell us the hard facts: “women of color simply do not have the absolute choice when it comes to their bodies.”
How does the author propose to “level the playing field?” It is so simple. “White women should be encouraged to abort their white children, and to use their freed-up time and resources to assist women of color who have no other choice but to raise their children.” It’s an interesting statement, because in this case, the author is not denying that there is some element of genocide in the idea of abortion. If anything, it seems like she is calling for a low-key infant genocide to solve what she considered to be an intrinsic problem.
Except the genocide is already happening, just not to the babies Valentine would prefer. According to the CDC, in 2013 black women had 35% of all the nation’s abortions, while blacks make up just 13.3% of the population. Tragically, access to abortion doesn’t seem to be a problem for black women.
“White women: It is time to do your part!” she stated. Adopt colored children, and prevent the conception of white children at all costs. Since your forefathers started this “parasitic” culture by oppressing anyone who was not white with their “white fathers, submissive white mothers, and most critically, white children,” the solution is to end the existence of anyone who claims descent from these people. Clearly.
Her statements do a grave injustice to the efforts that the United States has put forth to ensure equality. By offering death and murder as a solution, she only makes the problem infinitely worse.

The more dismal deluded Democrats scream about Trump in the media bubble, the more he keeps winning!

The London Daily Mail ^ | June 21, 2017 | Piers Morgan

‘Democrats lose again (0-4),’ gloated President Donald Trump last night after his party won Georgia’s vacant 6th Congressional District.

Then he added an extra ball-spiking slam: ‘Total disarray.’

Unlike some of Trump’s public statements, this was one that no Democrat could legitimately contest for factual accuracy.
They really HAVE lost all four special House elections since he won the White House.
And they really ARE in total disarray.
I’ve spent the past few months warning liberals their constant hysterical behaviour in relation to Trump would backfire and simply strengthen his position.
Weeping, wailing and marching every time he breaks wind isn’t going to work.
Now we are beginning to see hard ballot box proof of this theory.
Make no mistake, last night’s defeat was a devastating one for the Democrats.....

Trump just ended a long tradition of celebrating Ramadan at the White House

The Washington Post ^ | June 24, 2017 | Amy B Wang

In the early days of December 1805, a handful of prominent politicians received formal invitations to join President Thomas Jefferson for a White House dinner.

Whatever Jefferson could have foreseen for the young country’s future, it appears the modern-day White House tradition of marking Ramadan with an iftar dinner or Eid celebration has come to an end.
Ramadan, which falls on the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, started on May 27 this year and ends at sundown Saturday. Muslims around the world will mark the end of the holy month by celebrating the holiday Eid al-Fitr, the “feast of breaking of the fast.”

For the first time in nearly two decades, Ramadan has come and gone without the White House recognizing it with an iftar or Eid celebration, as had taken place each year under the Clinton, Bush and Obama administrations. In recent weeks, several former White House staff members told The Post they would usually begin planning an iftar “months in advance” and didn’t anticipate the Trump White House could pull something off before the end of Ramadan.

White House officials did not respond to repeated requests for comment.

In late May, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson reportedly said the State Department would break with recent tradition and not host a Ramadan reception, as it had done nearly annually for two decades. On Saturday, Tillerson released a brief statement sending “best wishes to all Muslims celebrating Eid al-Fitr.”

“This holiday marks the culmination of Ramadan, a month in which many experience meaning and inspiration in acts of fasting, prayer, and charity,” Tillerson said in the statement. “This day offers an opportunity to reflect on our shared commitment to building peaceful and prosperous communities. Eid Mubarak.”

Planned Parenthood spent $734,000 in failed Georgia race

The Washington Times ^ | Wednesday, June 21, 2017 | Bradford Richardson

Jon Ossoff lost the House race in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District despite receiving nearly three-quarters of $1 million from the Planned Parenthood Action Fund.

With $734,000 in campaign contributions, the abortion giant was the second-biggest spender on the Democratic side of the ledger — only trailing the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, which poured $4.9 million into the race.

Remember that California single payer plan? Yeah… never mind.

Hot Air.com ^ | June 24, 2017 | JAZZ SHAW

Earlier this month we reported that California was in a bit of a quandary. They were bound and determined to have a single payer health plan for their citizens no matter what the Republicans wanted to do on the national level. And by golly, they got a plan put together in the state legislature and moved it out of committee, despite the fact that it was going to cost more than the total GDP of the state.
Then it made it out onto the floor of the Assembly. As Leslie Eastman of Legal Insurrection tells us, the cold light of day seems to have given some of the legislators second thoughts and the plan has gone back on the shelf.
I recently reported that California Senate Bill 562, which would establish a single payer healthcare system within the state, had recently cleared a major hurdle by passing through a state legislative committee.
However, the measure died upon entering the California Assembly.
A high-profile effort to establish a single-payer healthcare system in California sputtered Friday when Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Paramount) decided to shelve the proposal.
Rendon announced late Friday afternoon that the bill, Senate Bill 562 by state Sens. Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens) and Toni Atkins (D-San Diego), would not advance to a policy hearing in his house, making it all but certain the measure will not be acted upon this year.
“SB 562 was sent to the Assembly woefully incomplete,” Rendon said in a statement. “Even senators who voted for SB 562 noted there are potentially fatal flaws in the bill, including the fact it does not address many serious issues, such as financing, delivery of care, cost controls, or the realities of needed action by the Trump administration and voters to make SB 562 a genuine piece of legislation.”
Really? The bill was “woefully incomplete?” Which part, exactly? I’m just taking a shot in the dark here, but it might be the bit about “financing, delivery of care, cost controls.” You mean you couldn’t figure out those details once it came out of committee?

While you consider that news, keep in mind that this is what the liberals in not only California but around the rest of the nation want to push on the entire country. And that attitude remains even after the dismal day when none other than the Washington Post threw in the towel and said that it might just sink the fiscal ship.
The government’s price tag would be astonishing. When Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) proposed a “Medicare for all” health plan in his presidential campaign, the nonpartisan Urban Institute figured that it would raise government spending by $32 trillion over 10 years, requiring a tax increase so huge that even the democratic socialist Mr. Sanders did not propose anything close to it.
Single-payer advocates counter that government-run health systems in other developed countries spend much less than the United States does on its complex public-private arrangement. They say that if the United States adopted a European model, it could expand coverage to everyone by realizing a mountain of savings with no measureable decline in health outcomes, in part because excessive administrative costs and profit would be wrung from the system.
In fact, the savings would be less dramatic; the Urban Institute’s projections are closer to reality. The public piece of the American health-care system has not proven itself to be particularly cost-efficient.
Much of this is a problem of scale. The smaller the population of a given country or state and the more they are already used to socialist style control of all their assets, the easier it is to pull off something approaching single payer. (But even in Canada, with their tiny population and devoted socialist climate they’ve run into serious delivery problems, wait times and a hard time finding doctors.) When you crank it up to even the size of a state like California the balloon bursts quickly.
But fear not, California, because I HAVE A PLAN. Your problems will soon be a thing of the past. You know how west coast liberals are always preaching the evils of giving “tax cuts to the rich” and how the wealthiest among us should pay their fair share? Surely that applies at the state level also. With that in mind, I invite any California legislators to steal this idea from me at no cost and introduce the “Movie Star Single Payer Subsidization Act of 2017.”
Under this bold plan, every Hollywood Star, Writer, Director, Producer or Studio executive who earns more than two million dollars in a single year will generously forfeit all income in excess of that amount to fund a single payer health care system for the state. On top of that, the movie studios will be even more helpful. The profits from all films which exceed 25% of the production costs will go into the same fund. Just working off the back of a napkin here it seems to me that they could recover a nice chunk of that $400B this year alone with room to spare.
That may sound drastic, but I know what big fans of Barack Obama you all were for the last eight years, so let’s keep in mind what he said. At some point, you’ve made enough money, right?

Justice Department developing strategies to shut down ‘sanctuary cities’!

The Hill ^ | June 24, 2017 | Brandon Carter

The Wall Street Journal reports that the DOJ is developing legal strategies to cancel out sanctuary cities across the country. The goal for DOJ would be to effectively force cities to comply with federal officials, according to the report.
A senior DOJ attorney told the newspaper that the department is pursuing several different options. One option would see Justice officials argue that local police departments refusing to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement illegally pre-empts federal law.
Another would argue that municipalities refusing to comply with ICE are discriminating against ICE because those cities honor requests from other federal agencies, like the FBI.
The DOJ source also said that the federal government is seeking friendly court circuits to present cases against sanctuary cities, and expressed hope that as Trump fills more vacancies on federal courts, the DOJ’s chances of securing a legal victory will improve, according to the Journal.
Trump and his Justice Department have clashed with sanctuary cities since the beginning of his presidency. His first budget proposal included several changes to immigration law that would crack down on sanctuary cities.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions also announced in March that local governments seeking DOJ grants would not be able to receive those grants if they are a sanctuary city.

Republican Lawmakers Call for Investigation Into James Comey and Robert Mueller

Breitbart ^ | 23 June 2017 | KRISTINA WONG

Three Republican House Oversight Committee members on Friday called for an investigation into former FBI Director James Comey and Special Counsel Robert Mueller for acting in a partisan manner and applying double standards when it came to the Obama and Trump administrations.
Reps. Jim Jordan (OH), Mark Meadows (NC), and Jody Hice (GA) said Comey misled the American people last year when he agreed to then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s request that he call an investigation into Hillary Clinton a “matter” instead of an investigation.
“He did it willfully. He did it intentionally. And he did it at the direction of Attorney General Loretta Lynch,” they wrote in a piece published on foxnews.com.
They also said Comey misled the American people in the early weeks of the Trump administration by “furthering the perception that President Trump was under investigation, when in fact he was not.”
“He again did this willfully and intentionally,” they wrote.
They also pointed out that Comey recently admitted having a friend leak one of his memos detailing a private conversation he had with Trump, after Trump fired him.
Comey admitted doing so to spark the appointment of a special counsel for the investigation into Russian interference and any collusion with the Trump campaign.
That person appointed was Robert Mueller — Comey’s “mentor and predecessor,” they wrote.
“The American people want justice to be blind. They want equal justice and equal protection for everyone. But Mr. Comey’s actions continue to call his impartiality, and the impartiality of the Holder and Lynch Justice departments, into question,” they said.
They pointed out that on May 7, 2014, the House passed a resolution calling for a special counsel to investigate the IRS targeting of conservatives for their political beliefs.

California Assembly leader shelves single-payer health plan (Commiecare dies again)

ABC News ^ | 6/23/17 | SOPHIA BOLLAG

The prospects of a government-run health care system in California dimmed Friday when the leader of the state Assembly announced he doesn't plan to take up the single-payer bill this year.

Speaker Anthony Rendon called the bill "woefully incomplete."

"Even senators who voted for SB 562 noted there are potentially fatal flaws in the bill," the Los Angeles-area Democrat said in a statement.

The bill, which has passed the Senate, lays out a plan for a government-run health system in California, but it doesn't include a way to pay for it. Rendon said the bill also doesn't adequately address delivery of care and cost.

Army Howitzer Has ‘Covfefe’ Stamped On The Gun

dailycaller.com ^ | 06/23/2017

A U.S. Army howitzer is trolling the world thanks to a Trump-related message one soldier stamped on the gun.
A photo provided to The Daily Caller shows the word “Covfefe’ stamped on the gun of an M109 Paladin.

Twitter exploded about the possible meaning of “covfefe” when Trump made a typo in a tweet on May 30, accidentally writing, “Despite the constant negative press covfefe.”
He followed it up, “Who can figure out the true meaning of ‘covfefe’ ??? Enjoy!”
Most Twitter users joked about the typo, but some oddly suggested it might be secret message to the Russians. Trump supporters on Twitter started changing their names to “covfefe” to show solidarity with the president.
Now, a service member with a sense of humor has gotten in on the action with the freshly painted howitzer.

With Two Tweets, Trump Settles Tape Question Raised in Earlier Tweet

Townhall.com ^ | June 24, 2017 | Debra J. Saunders

"I don't know there was a game," White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Thursday in response to a question about President Donald Trump's latest tweets, in which he denied taping former FBI chief James Comey.
Actually, it is a game -- a 41-day back-and-forth marathon called "snooker," played not with cue sticks and red balls, but with cryptic social media posts prodding reporters' raised hands and shouted questions. Once again, Trump has managed to make journalists look easily dispatched on a fool's errand to investigate what turned out to be a nonissue.
But why? What, if anything, did Trump himself gain?
This chapter began on May 12 -- two days after the president fired Comey -- when Trump tweeted, "James Comey had better hope that there are no 'tapes' of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!" Trump apparently was angry over a New York Times report that he had asked Comey for his loyalty in an early meeting.
News hounds' noses turned toward the new scent. Trump's tweet spawned hours of cable TV debate over what the president meant. Had Trump actually taped White House conversations or was this a feint? Was the tweet a threat that might constitute obstruction of justice? Or was this typical Trumpian bluster engineered to push his critics off balance?
A Friday deadline was looming for Trump to turn over to the House Intelligence Committee any tapes, if they existed, when he took to Twitter Thursday afternoon. Minutes before Sanders was set to enter the briefing room, the president denied that he had taped Comey.
In two tweets, Trump told the world, "With all of the recently reported electronic surveillance, intercepts, unmasking and illegal leaking of information, I have no idea ... whether there are 'tapes' or recordings of my conversations with James Comey, but I did not make, and do not have, any such recordings."
When reporters followed up with questions -- such as "Why the game? What was he doing?" -- Sanders schooled the room. "Look," she said, "I think the president's statement via Twitter today is extremely clear. I don't have anything to add beyond the statement itself."
Then followed the predictable after-game arguments. GOP consultant Bryan Lanza defended the gambit. With that action, Lanza said, Trump "forced Comey's hand so that he revealed that he told Trump on three separate occasions that the president was not under investigation."
Comey never said as much before the Trump tape tweet, Lanza added.
Also, Comey admitted when he testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee in June that he arranged for a friend to leak information from memos he wrote after meeting with Trump.
On the left, disgust replaced admiration. "The first thing I thought was, duh, I never thought there was any tape," said Democratic strategist Maria Condona. "I always thought this was a distraction" designed to "keep us in suspense for weeks on end. It is such buffoonish behavior from someone who is supposed to be the leader of the free world."
For his part, Lanza pointed out that after months of probing and leaking, there is "not one shred of evidence of collusion between the campaign and any Russian officials."

Trump Sucker-Punches Deep State and Fake News Media on Cuba

Townhall.com ^ | June 24, 2017 | Humberto Fontova

“Now that I am your President, America will expose the crimes of the Castro regime and stand with the Cuban people in their struggle for freedom….For nearly six decades, the Cuban people have suffered under communist domination. To this day, Cuba is ruled by the samepeople who killed tens of thousands of their own citizens, who sought to spread their repressive and failed ideology throughout our hemisphere, and who once tried to host enemy nuclear weapons 90 miles from our shores.” (President Donald Trump, June 16, 2017.)
In a vicious sucker punch to the Fake News Media and Deep State last Friday from Miami President Trump reminded many Americans (and revealed to others) that the regime occupying the large Caribbean island 90 miles south of Florida isn’t mostly an innocent provider of “free and fabulous healthcare.”
If the term “In-Your-Face” still means anything—then President Trump cranked it up several notches last Friday in Miami. To wit:
From their fetal positions in their safe-places, liberals and libertarians constantly whine and whimper about our “shameful gunboat diplomacy” about our “discredited and universally-reviled cowboy diplomacy.” The Bay of Pigs invasion always ranks near the top instigator of these liberal/libertarian whine and whimper-fests.
Well, here’s President Trump last Friday addressing the group (Cuban-Americans) who voted for him at the highest rate of any “ethnic” group in America-- at the same rate, in fact, as their bosom- partners as targets of media-derision “southern whites” :
“I am so thrilled to be back here with all of my friends in Little Havana! I love it. I love this city!...One of the big HONORS….was the HONOR of getting the Bay of Pigs award (by the Bay of Pigs Veterans Assoc. ) just before the election! (several Bay of Pigs veterans stood behind him on the stage) ... and it’s great to be gathered in a place named for a TRUE HERO of the Cuban people! “
President Trump gave his address last Friday at Miami’s Manuel Artime theatre. Manuel Artime was among the leaders of the Cuban freedom- fighters who landed at the Bay of Pigs, fought to their last bullet, and inflicted casualties of ten to one against their Soviet-led enemies. This feat of arms by these mostly civilian volunteers--though it horrifies liberal and libertarian snowflakes-- still amazes professional military men:
“They fought magnificently and were not defeated,” stressed Marine Col. Jack Hawkins a multi-decorated WWII and Korea vet who helped train them. “They were abandoned on the beach without the supplies and support promised by their sponsor, the Government of the United States.”
Indeed, modern history records few soldiers with the burning morale of the Bay of Pigs freedom-fighters. Their goal, after all, was to topple the mass-murdering, terror-sponsoring regime co-headed by Raul Castro, the man Obama high-fived in Havana last year and has greatly enriched with his anti-embargo policies to thunderous applause from the Deep Sate, Fake News media and libertarian “Think” tanks.
But OK, enough with the pageantry of the event. Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty: You see, amigos, as all that free Venezuelan oil stops flowing to the Castro family and Putin starts demanding actual payment (imagine that?) for Russian oil, the Castro regime was desperately counting on a “boom of U.S. tourists and U.S. hotel-building” as a new economic lifeline. Thanks to Obama’s “rapprochement” (i.e. surrenders and violations of U.S. law as codified in the Helms-Burton Act) this lifeline was already starting to gush.
With the Deep State/Fake News Media-complex deeply committed to succoring the Castro-regime, all the odds pointed to this lifeline of U.S. dollars (estimated at about $5.2 billion last year, mostly in remittances and travel expenditures) gushing ever stronger and further enriching the terror-sponsors on our doorstep.
Alarmingly, some say even Secretary of State Tillerson originally sided with Obama Deep-State Deptartment holdovers on the Cuba issue.
Whatever the case, the multi-billionaire Castro-Family-and-Military-Crony-Crime-Syndicate (habitually and obscenely labeled “Cuba” by the Deep-State/Fake News Media complex) was already rubbing their hands in anticipation and glee of the scam they’d pulled on U.S. law and the saps they’d made of the U.S. voter.
Well, if the term “putting the kibosh on” still means anything, President Trump cranked it up several notches last week in Miami. Though hardly a comprehensive “rollback” of Obama’s capitulations to Castro as some claim, Trump’s announced Cuba policy still WHACKS the Castro-Family-Crime-and-Terror-Sponsoring-Syndicate smack in the family jewels.
While leaving much of the window dressing intact (embassies open, cruise and airlines free to travel to and from the U.S. and the Castro family fiefdom), Trump’s announced policy very shrewdly aims for the very heart (or gonads) of the matter: U.S. tourism, the Stalinist regime’s cherished economic lifeline as all others dry-up.
In brief, as PRECISELY predicted by your humble servant two weeks ago, Trump’s new policy drastically tightens the rules for travel to Cuba from the U.S. Though 614,000 people visited the Castro fiefdom from the U.S. last year (depositing $BILLIONS in the coffers of the Castro regime’s military and secret police, who majority-own Cuba’s entire tourism infrastructure)—even given all that travel and spending, tourism to Cuba from the U.S. is technically illegal!
In brief, Trump’s policy will simply start enforcing U.S. law as codified by the U.S. Congress. (Quite a “revolutionary” concept after the Obama administration, no?)
So “sure!” the new policy says. “Knock yourselves out on U.S.-based cruise lines and airlines! You’re still perfectly free to dock and land in Cuba!” (But will they continue this Castro-regime-enrichment-scheme with half-empty ships and planes?) And while sending remittances to Cuba will remain legal, the category of Cubans who can receive U.S. cash remittances (estimated at $3 billion last year) is also being “reviewed.”
Hence, my use of the word “shrewd” to describe Trump’s policy.
President Trump’s policy was crafted, word has it, by Cuban-American Republican legislators Marco Rubio and Mario Diaz-Balart. Who better! These gentlemen know exactly what makes the Castro-Family-Crime-Syndicate tick.
Some academic “experts” will try chicken-entrail-reading the Castro regime’s official pronouncements for clues to its (genuine) reaction. We won’t bother with so fatuous an exercise. We won’t waste our time with such silliness.
Instead we’ll note the PANIC(!!!) of the Stalinist regime’s legions of U.S.-based agents and their Obama State Department colleagues. The former fear for their paychecks, the latter for their “legacy.” And both of these rewards are now twirling like the contents of a slowly flushing-toilet.
If you need more proof—right on the heels of Trump’s big announcement in Miami last week-- Moody’s Investor Service slashed the Castro fiefdom’s already abysmal credit rating to toilet contents level.

This Is What It Looks Like When Democrats “Tone Down The Rhetoric”

DB Daily Update ^ | 6.24.2017 | David Blackmon

- The Fake Indian Sen. From Massachussets – aka, Little Big Mouth Warren – responded to the GOP plan to repeal and replace the collapsing Obamacare system by calling it “blood money.”
- Not to be outdone, shameless Senator Richard “Stolen Valor” Blumenthal claimed that “Senate Republicans want to gut Medicaid – throwing children and families who rely on it to the wolves” and “The Republicans’ health care plan will literally cost American lives.”
- Chuck Schumer was tame by comparison: “The Senate Republican health care bill is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Only this wolf has even sharper teeth than the House bill.”
- A Democrat Party official in Nebraska was fired when a tape went public that showed him saying of Scalise “I wish that m*****f***** had died!” This was the Nebraska state Democrat Party, of course. If he were part of the national Democrat Party, he’d have been lionized and elevated to DNC chairman with cussing skills like that. BTW, the guy hilariously claimed his taped remarks were “taken out of context.”
- Tatted-up, meth-head, wife-beating actor Johnny Depp, seeing what’s left of his fading career swirling around the proverbial toilet bowl, issued a semi-apology for the remarks he’d made Thursday, outright advocating for some actor to assassinate the sitting President of the United States.
- An Illinois Democrat was tossed into the pokey for making multiple on-line posts saying that he wants to assassinate the President. This used to be a crime everywhere, for anyone who did it, but now it’s apparently only a crime for Joe Schmoes who live in Podunk, Ill. Hollywood has-beens, dog-whistling fake journalists and Democrat members of congress are obviously exempt these days.

How the Myth of "Harmless" Wolves was Created

Gun Watch ^ | 13 June, 2017 | Dean Weingarten

Valerius Geist is a Professor Emeritus of Environmental Science at the University of Calgary, Canada.

He believed in the myth of the "Harmless" wolf until he personally experienced evidence to the contrary, four years after he retired.  In this heavily documented paper, written in 2010, He explores how the mythology came to be. From wolfeducationinternational.com:

The effects of thousands of impoverished trappers and wolf bounties in northern Alberta early in the 20the century on predators, and its relation to the myth of the harmless wolf.

Dear Colleagues,

I have been digging into historical literature in my quest to understand why in North America the myth of the “harmless wolf” took such a severe hold, to the point of perverting scholarship and quite  probably leading to the death of some believers. The conventional view of the harmless wolf, which I also believed in throughout my academic career and four years into retirement, is in sharp contrast to experiences elsewhere. Yet, it certainly coincided with my personal experience pre-1999, after which a misbehaving pack of wolves settled about our and our neighbor's properties at the edge of a farming district in central Vancouver Island. The unexpected behavior of these wolves led me to investigate wolf behavior for the first time. I subsequently discovered that the wolves were much the same in their behavior, whatever their origins, but that circumstances lead to vastly different outcomes. In general, the evidence indicates that wolves are very careful to choose the most nutritious food source easiest obtained without danger. They tackle dangerous prey only when they run out of non dangerous prey, and they shift to new prey only very gradually, following a long period of gradual exploration. Wolves are very sensitive to strangeness, including a potential prey species strange to them. Garbage is the easiest and safest food source for wolves, and they do take advantage of such. Once they are habituated to people due to their proximity, they may begin to investigate people. The ultimate exploration of a strange prey by a carnivore is to attack such. Hence, the danger from habituated wolves. However, they need not have garbage, just a shortage of prey to begin investigating and eventually attacking humans. This means that as long as wolves have sufficient natural prey, they leave livestock alone. As long as they have livestock they leave humans alone. When short of natural prey and livestock they turn their attention to humans and their habitations and may even break into such to extract cattle, horses, pigs, sheep or poultry. Dogs and cats are attacked before that. We humans are next in line, primarily children. But even then the initial attacks are exploratory in nature and clumsy, allowing some victims to escape. however, this scenario is of exceptional scarcity in North America, though it is practiced occasionally by coyotes targeting children in urban parks.

The discrepancy, however, between global and conventional American experiences with wolves is crass. Wolves have killed thousands upon thousands of people as chronicled by European and Asian sources, yet in North America documented fatal attacks are few and disputed. The differences are real.

What then was going on in the past century in North America to make wolves so harmless? I felt I had obtained part of the answer that showed that wolves are wolves wherever they occur, but that circumstances can generate very different outcomes in wolf behavior.

I continued digging.
In a teleconference with a committee of the Montana legislature on or about April 27th I suggested that in Canada trapping and official wolf control via hired predator control officers was likely a good part of the answer. I ran subsequently into most unlikely sources, plus follow-ups. These are the memoirs of  two German authors, the first is the two volume work of Max Hinsche (1935)  Kanada wirklich erlebt (Canada really experienced) and Reinhold Eben Ebnau (1953) Goldgelbeds Herbstlaub (Golden yellow fall leaves). In addition I examined C. Gorden Hewit's (1921) The Conservation of the Wildlife of Canada, and followed up with some reading by a like-minded and qualified author on Russian and Siberian conditions Egon Freiherr von Kapherr (1941) Wo es trommelt und röhrt (Where [wildlife] drums and roars).
More Here. The paper is 7 pages long.  Here is the conclusion of the paper:

Recipe for “harmless & romantic” wolves (based on Alberta data): License trappers so as to have one trapper per 25 square miles. Give him leg-hold traps, snares, poison and an accurate gun, insist that he live off the land, give him a monetary reward for killing wolves, hire predator control officers to kill all wolves entering agricultural lands, let game wardens poison wolves after the big game season, remove all legal protection from wolves so that hunters, ranchers, farmers etc can shoot them all year long, drop by the ton frozen horse meat injected with strychnine or 1080 from aircraft on frozen lakes all winter long, (note killings of wolves by native people as ongoing). With this recipe re-implemented, expect very few, shy wolves with limited distribution, virtually free of  Echinococcus grnaulosus or rabies, expect strong game populations, expect little if any predation on livestock, and expect no attacks on humans (the odd rabid wolf excepted) and, by all means, offer a monetary reward for anybody proving an attack on humans by a healthy wolf! Enjoy the occasional wolf howl in “real” wilderness setting! It is under conditions such as described by above recipe that American wolf biologists convinced themselves that wolves were utterly harmless, good for the ecosystem, and the global experinece to the contrary, as symbolized by the Red Riding Hood fairytale, was irrelevant at best, and malicious, ignorant garbage at worst.

White middle schoolers forced to stand in front of classmates, apologize for ‘privilege’

EAGnews.org ^ | June 21, 2017 | Victor Skinner

EDEN, N.C. – “White privilege” training in the Rockingham County school system is causing a lot of headaches.

Superintendent Rodney Shotwell told Rockingham Now the state threatened to withhold federal funding when a disproportionate number of minority students were suspended in a special exceptional children’s program in 2012 and 2013, so district leaders implemented mandatory “equity training” for school staff.

Now, some teachers are complaining that the training materials focused on white privilege and transgender issues violate their principles, while parents are speaking out about other teachers who are taking what they learned and imposing it on students.

At a May 8 school board meeting, parent Farran Wilkinson took to the podium to out one educator who recently forced white students to apologize to black students for their white privilege, according to the American Lens.

Canadian sniper sets world record with 2.2-mile pickoff of ISIS fighter

Fox News ^ | June 22, 2017 | Michael Obel

A Canadian sniper set what appears to be a record, picking off an ISIS fighter from some 2.2 miles away, and disrupting a potentially deadly operation by the terror group in Iraq.

Shooting experts say the fatal shot at a world-record distance of 11,316 feet underscores how stunningly sophisticated military snipers are becoming. The feat, pulled off by a special forces sniper from Canada’s Joint Task Force 2, smashed the previous distance record for successful sniper shots by some 3,280 feet, a record set by a British sniper.

“ ... the true challenge here was being able to calculate the actual wind speed and direction all the way to the target.” -- - Ryan Cleckner, former U.S. Army Ranger sniper

"The Canadian Special Operations Command can confirm that a member of the Joint Task Force 2 successfully hit a target from 3,540 metres [2.2 miles]," the Canadian military said in a statement.
While officials would not say where the shot took place, the statement noted the command "provides its expertise to Iraqi security force to detect, identify and defeat Daesh activities from well behind the Iraqi security force front line in Mosul."
The new record was set using a McMillan TAC-50, a .50-caliber weapon and the largest shoulder-fired firearm in existence.

Pelosi Strikes Back: 'I Think I'm Worth the Trouble'

NBC News ^ | 06/22/2017 | Alex Seitz-Wald

WASHINGTON — Pushing back on criticism from fellow party members after the Democratic loss in a Georgia special election this week, Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that she's "worth the trouble" as Democrats' leader in the House.

"I feel very confident about the support that I have in my caucus," Pelosi said at a press conference in the Capitol after Republicans featured her in almost every ad attacking Democrat Jon Ossoff in the Georgia congressional race which he lost Tuesday.

"I think I'm worth the trouble, quite frankly," she concluded. "I love the fray."

Democratic critics say it's time to change the party's House leadership, which has been static for over a decade, to make room for fresh voices and a new direction. But Pelosi insisted she's already done that by bringing younger members into leadership.

"We're paving a way for a new generation of leadership, and I respect any opinion that my members have," she said. "But my decision about how long I stay is not up to them."

And while Democrats have been on a losing streak lately — going down to defeat in all of the special congressional elections so far this year — she said that would turn around soon.

"History is on our side," she said, noting that presidents almost always lose House seats in their first midterm election.

"You want me to sing my praises?" she asked defiantly. "Well, I'm a master legislator. I am a strategic, politically astute leader. My leadership is recognized by many around the country, and that is why I'm able to attract the support that I do."

Pelosi added that Republican opponents will always go after the other party's leaders — "and usually they go after the most effective leader."

Pelosi beat back a leadership challenge late last year from Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH), with two-thirds of her caucus supporting her.

Blumenthal, Matthews Swoon: History Will View the Liberal Media as ‘Heroes’ of the Trump Era (?)

MRC NewsBusters ^ | 06/22/2017 | Curtis Houck

Further illustrating the blatant collusion between the Democratic Party and the news media, MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews and Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal (Conn.) spent Wednesday night predicting that history will look back on the Trump era and conclude the liberal media were “the heroes” who stood for decency and truth.

Matthews swooned to Jeremy Peters of The New York Times that “one thing that is important from your end from The New York Times and the other great papers of the country is the public knew” nothing about the supposed Russia-Trump team ties since the Trump administration wouldn’t admit to anything (which most people would do).

76% of GOP Voters Believe Most Reporters Biased Against Trump!

Rasmussen Reports ^ | 06/22/2017 | na

Voters are still critical of the news coverage President Trump is getting and continue to believe most reporters are out to get him.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that only 34% of Likely U.S. Voters rate the media coverage of the president as good or excellent. Forty-four percent (44%) describe the coverage of Trump as poor. Both findings are up slightly from January just before Trump took office and are consistent with views of the media coverage of last year's Clinton. vs. Trump presidential campaign.

(To see survey question wording, click Link.)

Fifty percent (50%) think most reporters are biased against the president, up two points from January. Just four percent (4%) think most reporters are biased in Trump's favor, a 12-point drop from the previous survey. Forty percent (40%) think the majority of reporters try to be fair and balanced, up from 31%.

Democrats’ real problem is that Nancy Pelosi is their true face!

NY Post ^ | June 22, 2017 | Post Editorial Board

Furious at their loss in yet another Trump-era special election, Democrats are calling for the head of . . . House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

It’s understandable: Republican ads in Georgia painted the Democrat, Jon Ossoff, as sure to be a Pelosi pawn — a charge that has scored for the GOP in race after race over the last decade.

New York’s own Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-Nassau) is far from alone in saying, “It’s time for Nancy Pelosi to go, and the entire leadership team.”

And Rice backed Pelosi in last year’s leadership fight. The challenger, Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio), is even more brutal, warning, “Our brand is worse than Trump’s.”

Thing is, Ryan’s got more of an eye on the real problem: the Democratic brand, which Pelosi in fact embodies perfectly.

She is, after all, a millionaire San Francisco party-line liberal incapable of understanding what most of America wants and needs. (Indeed, seeing eye-to-eye with the Democratic-voting elite is what makes her one of the party’s best fund-raisers.)

Hey Democrats: You Might Win More Elections If You’d Stop Killing Your Voters in the Womb!

Life News ^ | 06-22-2017 | Micaiah Bilger

Democrats keep puzzling about why they are losing so many elections, but they do not seem to want to hear the answer that so many people are giving: abortion.

Pro-life advocates — Republican, Democrat, independent and otherwise – have been shouting out this answer repeatedly for years, but the words seem to fall on deaf ears.

The abortion industry has embedded itself deeply into the Democratic Party, and many voters have turned away because they cannot stomach the party’s new taxpayer-funded abortion-on-demand up until birth platform. Just a small minority of voters hold such a radical position.

If You’re White and Have Opinions, You’re Now Guilty of ‘Whitesplaining’

HeatStreet ^ | 6/22/2017

“Mansplaining” was so 2016. Half way through 2017, the Huffington Post is peddling a new complaint to add to the American lexicon:

“Whitesplaining.”

HuffPo’s “social justice blogger,” Jade Greear, explains this new offense.
“Have you ever had an experience where someone is explaining to you, in a patronizing way, something you actually already know quite a lot about?” she asks. “Possibly about your own life experiences as an African American or Latino? That is whitesplaining—to explain or comment on something in a condescending, overconfident, and often inaccurate or oversimplified manner, from the perspective of the group one identifies with, thereby clearly exhibiting their own bias.” Greear says that while “whitesplaining” can be well-intentioned, it is inherently subjective. It perpetuates racism, she argues, precisely because “racism is not subjective.”
“My life experiences and oppression—my truth as a 19-year-old black woman—cannot be invalidated because of the inability of someone with privilege to see it,” she writes.
Greear cites a few examples of “whitesplaining,” referencing issues where she apparently feels white people have no right to weigh in. It was “not only condescending [but] particularly harmful,” she says, when TV hosts weighed in on Colin Kaepernick’s protests, or when “self-professed political pundits whitesplain[ed] why blacks should have voted for Trump.” She adds: “Whitesplaining perpetuates white privilege, which fuels racism and only serves to erode the progress we have made in the fight for racial equality in America.”
By that line of reasoning, any dispute with Greear’s opinions, which are rooted in her impenetrable personal experience, are not only illegitimate; they’re actually racist. Instead of civil discourse, she demands deference

Evidence Trump Was Right About Illegal Voting!

Rush Limbaugh ^ | June 21, 2017 | Rush Limbaugh

RUSH: You remember leading up to the presidential election in November that Donald Trump alluded to the fact that there might be as many as two million or millions of illegal alien votes? And do you remember the reaction from the Democrats and the media? It was like a bunch of stuck pigs in a barnyard on the way to slaughterhouse that had just figured out what was happening. They went bananas. And they said, “This is outrageous! This is outrageous! Trump is tampering with the election with Russia and now he’s claiming that illegals are voting. This is outrageous, this is irresponsible, Trump is destroying our democracy,” blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
And all the while, none of them could say that it wasn’t true. Nobody could say it wasn’t true. So here’s the thing. At the time the Democrats were accusing the Russians of tampering with, of hacking the election, Trump comes along and says, “Yeah, there may be as many as two million illegal people voting.” Democrats say, “No way. It’s not possible.” You remember this. I’m sure you do. It was one of the many incidents Trump had said something that the reaction from the Democrats and the media was, “See, I’m telling you, this guy is insane. This guy is unfit! This guy is a danger.”

I had seen that figure alluded to, it was a blog post, not a news story. I forget the blog. But I think it was the same place Trump got it, actually. I had seen it as well. Anyway, our old buddy Rowan Scarborough here at the Washington Times: “A research group in New Jersey has –” have you seen this? You’ve got a smile on your face like you know where this is going, but you haven’t seen this. “A research group in New Jersey has taken a fresh look at postelection polling data and concluded that –” by the way, this is election poll. This is not opinion polling. This is at the polling place.
“A research group in New Jersey has taken a fresh look at postelection polling data and concluded that the number of noncitizens voting illegally in U.S. elections is likely far greater than previous estimates. As many as 5.7 million noncitizens may have voted in the 2008 election, which put Barack Obama in the White House. The research organization Just Facts, a widely cited, independent think tank led by self-described conservatives and libertarians, revealed its number-crunching in a report on national immigration.
“Just Facts President James D. Agresti and his team looked at data from an extensive Harvard/YouGov study that every two years questions a sample size of tens of thousands of voters.” Remember the Harvard YouGov study, that contained a lot of data shocking to Democrats. I can’t remember anything off the top of my head, but I’ll be able to dig it up because we reported on two or three elements of the Harvard study, and it is of thousands of people, which is one of the reasons it’s paid so much close attention, and it revealed some really shocking things to left-wing conventional wisdom. I promise I’ll dig some stuff out. My memory on this is failing at the moment.
But they looked at data from “Harvard/YouGov study that every two years questions a sample size of tens of thousands of voters. Some acknowledge they are noncitizens and are thus ineligible to vote. Just Facts conclusions confront both sides in the illegal voting debate: those who say it happens a lot and those who say the problem nonexistent. In one camp, there are groundbreaking studies by professors at Old Dominion University in Virginia who attempted to compile scientifically derived illegal voting numbers using the Harvard data, called the Cooperative Congressional Election Study. On the other side are the professors who conducted the study and contended that ‘zero’ noncitizens of about 18 million adults in the U.S. voted. The liberal mainstream media adopted this position and proclaimed the Old Dominion work was ‘debunked.'”
In other words, the Drive-Bys said there wasn’t any illegal voting, we can’t cheat like that in this country. Now, that was absurd, because we know the objective, at least as far as the Democrats are concerned and many Republicans, too, is to get as many illegals in the country and register them. The Democrats think that they’re automatically gonna register as Democrats. The Republicans think they can get them if they simply stand for comprehensive immigration reform, i.e., amnesty.

“The ODU professors, who stand by their work in the face of attacks from the left, concluded that in 2008 as few as 38,000 and as many as 2.8 million noncitizens voted.” That’s a big range. Mr. Agresti, the president of Just Facts, the think tank doing all this, that “analysis of the same polling data settled on much higher numbers. He estimated that as many as 7.9 million noncitizens were illegally registered,” to vote in 2008, and that between “594,000 to 5.7 million voted.”
And Mr. Scarborough reports here that “These numbers are more in line with the unverified estimates given by President Trump, who said the number of ballots cast by noncitizens was the reason he lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton.” So no one really knows. This is the bottom line. No one really knows because most illegals are not gonna tell you the truth about this. “Hi. I’m from the Harvard YouGov survey, and we’re trying to find people that voted illegally. Are you one of them?”
“Yes. I will confirm I voted illegally.”
“You did?” People are not gonna admit they voted illegally. Here’s the bottom line. Trump was reacted to by, “That can’t be true. There’s no way.” But they couldn’t prove that Trump was wrong. By the same token, nobody else could prove that they were wrong. Common sense has to enter this picture. Common sense must accommodate the likelihood that there are Democrats seeking to get illegal aliens registered to vote. That’s the primary reason behind their support for amnesty.

Congressional Black Caucus rejects invitation to meet with Trump!

CBS News ^ | June 21, 2017 | Jacqueline Alemany

The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) has rejected the invitation to meet with President Trump for a follow up meeting at the White House, according to a letter released by the chair of the committee, Cedric Richmond, on Wednesday.

Citing actions by the Trump administration "that will affirmatively hurt black communities," Richmond wrote that concerns discussed during a preliminary meeting with Mr. Trump on March 22nd "fell on deaf ears."
"Given the lack of response to any of the many concerns we have raised with you and your administration, we decline your invitation for all 49 members of the Congressional Black Caucus to meet with you," Richmond said.

"I fail to see how a social gathering would benefit the policies we advocate for," Richmond added.

Mr. Trump's adviser Omarosa Manigault extended an invitation to the 49 members of the CBC to return to the White House for a follow up meeting on June 9th, first reported by CBS News last week.....

Why Your Kids Hate Capitalism

THE CRUX ^ | June 20, 2017 | Alexander Green

From Alexander Green, Chief Investment Strategist, The Oxford Club:
Equity investors rarely stop to think about it, but the stock market is the essence of capitalism: the private ownership of the means of production. With very little money and a quick phone call – or a click of the mouse – you can own a fractional interest in any of thousands of the nation’s most profitable businesses.

The system is fair too.

You will pay (and receive) no more or less for your shares than the wealthy do. And thanks to technology and market liquidity, commissions and spreads are now negligible.
If you own Microsoft (MSFT), for instance, your investment returns in the years ahead will be identical to those of the world’s richest man, Bill Gates. (Sure, he may own a few more shares than you do. But your percentage returns will be the same.)
Given the many benefits of capitalism, I was surprised when a survey by the Institute of Politics at Harvard showed that the majority of Americans between 18 and 29 do not support the free-market system that underpins our economy.
A full one-third said they preferred socialism. The question, of course, is “why?”
I began polling friends and colleagues to get their views.
Some insisted that too many young people have not been raised to be responsible, productive adults. They were on the dole from the day they were born. Their helicopter parents did most things for them. And they grew up with a sincere belief that “everyone gets a trophy.” (For more on this subject, you might read Senator Ben Sasse’s new book The Vanishing American Adult.)
Others said their kids don’t understand that capitalism is a profit and loss system. When companies fail – as many do eventually – it causes economic disruption for employees (not to mention investors).
It’s unsettling to find yourself suddenly out of a job. We all prefer economic security to anxiety and uncertainty.
Unfortunately, that’s not how modern economies work. In our globally competitive world, most workers today will hold not just multiple positions over a lifetime, but also will work in multiple industries. And sometimes job skills don’t transfer easily.
Others said that anti-capitalist attitudes are all their kids have ever been taught. They graduated from high school without even a basic understanding of compound interest, adjustable-rate mortgages, 401(k)s or why we have a stock market.
Then they enrolled in institutes of higher learning where their professors explained that we live in an unfortunate economic system – based on greed, selfishness and exploitation – that allows a few to benefit at the expense of the many.
It’s not just the anti-business ideology that is hurting them…
The Wall Street Journal just reviewed the latest results at some of the most prestigious universities in the country and found that college kids are graduating without basic critical thinking skills. At more than half of schools, a third of seniors were unable to interpret data in a table, assess the quality of evidence in a document or make a cohesive argument. As a result, many companies today are struggling to find qualified workers.
It’s a shock to kids who spent a small fortune getting a degree in bitterness studies to find that what prospective employers really want is analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills. They don’t have them. What they do have is tens of thousands of dollars in student loans. That’s not a good way to start off in life…
Capitalism, however, is not the problem.
The free market creates jobs, lifts people out of poverty, and meets virtually all of our wants and needs. (It also creates investment opportunities inside and outside the financial markets.)
Capitalism promises that you can have anything you want if you just provide enough other people with what they want.
Unlike government, business is about freedom and individual choice, not coercion. If you don’t like a particular company or its policies, you don’t have to work for it, sell to it, buy from it or own its shares.
Businesses focused solely on short-term profits don’t last long. If you cut corners on quality, your customers will leave. If you bargain with suppliers too hard, they won’t trade with you. If you undervalue your key employees, they will take their talents elsewhere. It is in the best interests of business owners to make sure all stakeholders – employees, suppliers, customers and communities – are satisfied.
Now here’s a newsflash: Businesses are run by fallible human beings.
Sometimes they make mistakes, breach contracts, use poor judgment, harm individuals or damage the environment. When they do, the transgressors should be punished.
But that doesn’t make capitalism wrong any more than democracy is wrong when a congressman is found to have stacks of $100 bills in his refrigerator.
The majority of wealthy Americans achieved their affluence not by inheritance or real estate speculation, but by owning a profitable business. Most of us don’t have the time, the investment capital or the experience necessary to found and run a successful company, but we can still own a piece of one through the stock market.
And owning a piece of a firm is a whole lot easier than running one. You don’t have to sign personal guarantees, hire or fire employees, grapple with an avalanche of federal mandates and regulations, pay lawyers and accountants, or even show up for work. How great is that?
Capitalism drives innovation. It creates prosperity. It raises our standard of living. And it improves our quality of life. If your kids don’t understand this, do them a favor.
Tell them. Good investing, Alex

Liberals Went Down to Georgia, They We’re Lookin’ for an Election to Steal…

US Defense Watch ^ | June 20, 2017 | Ray Starmann

Liberals were in a bind, they were way behind, they were willin’ to make a deal…
The Democrats; the party of Madonna who wants to blow up the White House, the party of Ashley Judd, the nasty woman, the party of violence, the party of denial, the party of real collusion with Russia, went down like Jerry Quarry, in the Georgia Special Election tonight.
Republican candidate, Karen Handel, soundly defeated Justin Trudeau wannabe, scruff ball hipster and barista lookalike, Jon Ossoff, 52.7 to 47.3 percent.
The election results tonight are what you call in the military, a catastrophic kill. In Georgia, it’s just a good ole ass stompin’.
Mr. Ossoff was the Democrats’ Great Liberal Hope, to capture a Republican seat in a sea of steadfast, rock-ribbed Republicans in suburban Atlanta. The Democrats assumed that soccer moms, disgusted with Trump’s late night tweets, Don Draper-esque comments and populist ideals would come out in droves of SUV’s to vote for Mr. Ossoff.
As a wise old drill sergeant once told me, ‘Assumptions are the mother of all foul ups.”
While Ossoff was pushed as the cool guy on campus who would woo young voters and women, he was, at the end of the day, just another toxic liberal. He supports Obamacare, open borders, raising the minimum wage, raising taxes and continuing federal funding of Planned Parenthood.
The Democratic Party establishment and Hollywood had their eyes on Jon Ossoff from the beginning. In the most expensive congressional election in history, 50 million dollars was siphoned into Ossoff’s candidacy.
Truth be told, the Democrats could have pumped in 50 billion dollars to try and buy a congressional seat in a Southern suburb, it wouldn’t have made a difference.
Tonight’s elections in Georgia and South Carolina, where the GOP secured two victories, were a major referendum on President Trump and his policies. America spoke once again. They believe in Mr. Trump and want him to Make America Great Again. They aren’t buying the lies spit out to the American public by the masters of deceit in the liberal, mainstream media.
The Democrats have learned nothing from the 2016 election. They continue to propagate a series of lies which are supposed to explain why they went down with the ship last November. It was Russia’s fault. Trump colluded with Putin. Trump obstructed justice; yada, yada, yada.
The Democrats will simply not accept that they lost the presidential race because their candidate was a corrupt, tainted individual with ZERO messages for the millions of Americans who haven’t seen a raise in 20 years, who are working three jobs to make ends meet and who can’t afford to pay their insurance premiums.
The Democrats cannot understand that calling everyone in Middle America a deplorable is not the road to winning elections.
The Democrats haven’t figured out yet that they are a party of the bi-coastal elite and nothing more.
The election in Georgia tonight was more than just a referendum on President Trump; it was a harbinger of death for the Democrats in 2018 and perhaps 2020.
The best part for Republicans is that the Democrats have no idea why they’re losing.

New study supports Trump: 5.7 million noncitizens may have cast illegal votes!

Washington Times ^ | June 19, 2017 | Rowan Scarborough

A research group in New Jersey has taken a fresh look at postelection polling data and concluded that the number of noncitizens voting illegally in U.S. elections is likely far greater than previous estimates. As many as 5.7 million noncitizens may have voted in the 2008 election, which put Barack Obama in the White House.

The research organization Just Facts, a widely cited, independent think tank led by self-described conservatives and libertarians, revealed its number-crunching in a report on national immigration.

Just Facts President James D. Agresti and his team looked at data from an extensive Harvard/YouGov study that every two years questions a sample size of tens of thousands of voters. Some acknowledge they are noncitizens and are thus ineligible to vote.

Why Obama’s presidency didn’t lead to black progress

NY Post Op-Ed ^ | 6-17-2017 | Jason Riley

Since the 1960s, black leaders have placed a heavy emphasis on gaining political power, and Barack Obama’s presidency represented the apex of those efforts. The assumption — rarely challenged — is that black political clout must come before black social and economic advancement. But as Jason L. Riley argues in this excerpt from his new book, “False Black Power” (Templeton Press), political success has not been a major factor in the rise of racial and ethnic groups from poverty to prosperity.

..... Yet the socioeconomic progress that was supposed to follow in the wake of these political gains never materialized. During an era of growing black political influence, blacks as a group progressed at a slower rate than whites, and the black poor actually lost ground.
In a 1991 book, social scientist Gary Orfield and his co-author, journalist Carole Ashkinaze, assessed the progress of blacks in the 1970s and ’80s following the sharp increase in black officeholders. The thinking, then and now, was that the problems of the cities “were basically the result of the racism of white officials and that many could be solved by black mayors, school superintendents, policemen and teachers who were displacing white ones.” The expectation, they added, “was that black political and education leaders would be able to make large moves toward racial equity simply by devising policies and practices reflecting their understanding of the background and needs of black people.”
But the integration of these institutions proved to be insufficient. “Many blacks have reached positions of local power, such as mayor, county commission chairman or superintendent of schools, positions undreamed of 30 years ago,” they wrote. Their findings, however, showed that “these achievements do not necessarily produce success for blacks as a whole.”.......

EXCLUSIVE: Soros, Clinton-Linked Teneo Among Donors to McCain Institute

The Daily Caller ^ | June 19, 2017 | Richard Pollock

Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain in 2012 turned over nearly $9 million in unspent funds from his failed 2008 presidential campaign to a new foundation bearing his name, the McCain Institute for International Leadership.

The institute is intended to serve as a “legacy” for McCain and “is dedicated to advancing human rights, dignity, democracy and freedom.” It is a tax-exempt non-profit foundation with assets valued at $8.1 million and associated with Arizona State University.
[snip]“This is a very real conflict of interest,” Craig Holman, a government affairs lobbyist at Public Citizen, told TheDCNF. “This is the similar type of pattern we received with the Clinton Foundation in which foreign governments and foreign interests were throwing a lot of money in the hopes of trying to buy influence.”
[snip]McCain and Soros reportedly became friends after the senator was exposed as a member of the “Keating Five” during the savings and loan (S&L) industry scandal during former President George H.W. Bush’s administration. As the S&L bank chairman, Charles Keating paid $1.3 million to bribe five members of Congress to interfere with government regulators on behalf of the savings bank.

The experience so scarred McCain that he became a vigorous advocate of campaign finance reform and in the process reportedly became friends with Soros.

Bill O’Reilly reveals major details about his future plans — and it includes a TV show

The Blaze ^ | Jun 18, 2017 12:36 pm | Chris Enloe

When Fox News announced in April they had fired network star Bill O’Reilly, many of the conservative commentator’s most loyal followers urged other conservative television networks to sign him, such as One America News, Newsmax or even TheBlaze.

But as TheBlaze reported on Friday, O’Reilly plans to hire several journalists and news producers to begin his own in-house video operation at BillOReilly.com. He even poached a producer from Fox News to work for him.
Now more details have been released about O’Reilly’s future.
According to Newser, O’Reilly said during at a public appearance on Long Island Saturday evening that he intends to launch a nightly 30 minute broadcast from a studio that resembles his longtime Fox show “The Factor.”
“I am starting my own operation. We are going to do that,” O’Reilly said, according to Newser.
“It’s basically an experiment to see how many people are going to want this service. That’s coming and will be here before September in a robust form,” he explained.
O’Reilly also hinted at the possibility that a new conservative news network will emerge from his show.
“I suspect there will be another network maybe merging with us. There will be a network that rises up because the numbers for Fox are going down,” he said.
During his remarks, which came during a question and answer session, O’Reilly also explained that in the coming weeks, he will release more evidence that proves his ousting from Fox was an organized effort by his detractors — mainly those on the left.
Since his departure from Fox, O’Reilly has hosted a regular podcast from his website.
