Mitch “the Blocker” McConnell

‘Repeal and Replace Obamacare’ never stood a chance of getting past Mitch "The Blocker" McConnell and is probably doomed this fall in spite of any further praiseworthy Trumpian efforts to help America's middle class escape a law which destroys our health and drains our bank accounts. After all, the Senate Majority Leader has some very close ties to special interest healthcare dollars. Add to that the fact that his wife, new US Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao McConnell, “…received $50,000 in 2015 for a five-minute speech to the political wing of the Mujahedeen-e-Khalq, previously called a cult-like terrorist group" by the US State Department. Why gum up a pleasant and lucrative life style just to do the right thing!
Though it completely escaped media attention, a one minute internet search turned up a report from www.taxpayer.net showing details about the cozy relationship between McConnell and David A. Jones, Sr, the founder of healthcare giant, Humana. According to the report, “…Jones and the charitable foundations he and his family control had donated $1.6 million to the McConnell Center at the University of Louisville, which both men attended." And the generosity works both ways. For when Jones and his associates asked for help in raising $10 million for a Louisville, KY parks project, Mitchie the Blocker nee Kentucky ‘rainmaker’ suddenly opened up a whopping $38 million federal funds giveaway!
And the love-fest was far from over as in 2009, “…an emotional Jones-who retired from Humana four years earlier-donated $1 million to help pay for the Mitch McConnell-Elaine Chao Archives at the McConnell Center." This terribly important center is preserving for posterity such McConnell memorabilia as his high school yearbooks, family photos and campaign records, which I doubt we’ll ever get to examine.
