Guess which three cities account for a two year spike in murder rates in the USA?

Hotair ^ | 04/25/2016 | Jazz Shaw

While you couldn’t tell it from most of the headlines over the past 18 months, there’s actually some good news on the law enforcement front. Violent crime rates continued to drop over the past two years on a national per capita basis, including the murder rate. The motto of if it bleeds, it leads likely keeps the focus of many news media consumers on some regularly occurring violence, but overall we’re still experiencing record low levels of the worst violence in the modern era, as was described this past winter by the Washington Post.
In 1993, there were seven homicides by firearm for every 100,000 Americans, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. By 2013, that figure had fallen by nearly half, to 3.6 — a total of 11,208 firearm homicides. The number of victims of crimes involving guns that did not result in death (such as robberies) declined even more precipitously, from 725 per 100,000 people in 1993 to 175 in 2013.
Most of that decrease obviously was the result of a national reset in our approach to law enforcement in the early to mid nineties, including Bill Clinton’s much maligned crime bill (which his wife now claims was a mistake) but local efforts in cities along the same lines contributed as well. Believe it or not, that trend continued through 2014 and 2015 across the nation as a whole. Murder and other gun related violent crimes have continued to dip or at least remain flat at levels not seen in the living memory of the majority of voters.
Sadly, that doesn’t apply everywhere. There’s been an uptick in both the murder and other violent crime rates which have halted that good progress on a national level and it’s localized in a few specific areas. The hot spots for homicide probably won’t startle anyone who’s been following the news. (Washington Free Beacon, emphasis added)
Three major cities accounted for more than half of the rise in the national murder rate between 2014 and 2015, a new report shows.
Though overall crime rates were stagnant in America’s 30 largest cities the murder rate rose 13.3 percent, according to a reportfrom the Brennan Center for Justice. The violent crime rate also rose by 3.1% in those major cities, lead by increases in Los Angeles, Baltimore, and Charlotte.
Three cities were also mainly responsible for the rise in murders. “Final data confirm that three cities (Baltimore, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.) account for more than half (244) of the national increase in murders,” the report said.
There are five cities on the two combined lists, with Baltimore winning the prize as the one to achieve a significant increase in bothcategories of violence. And for the most part they have a few things in common. The first factor – and the one which both liberals and conservatives are likely to agree on – is that these cities are the epicenters for chronic poverty and high unemployment, particularly among minorities. Drug abuse and its associated “business structure” contribute to widespread depression, gang activity and violence. The lack of wealth (aside from government infusions of cash) contributes to structural decay, failing schools and a host of other factors which result in a socioeconomic death spiral, both figuratively and literally.
The second factor is the one which the Left and the media (though I repeat myself) are less eager to discuss. These are all cities which have been governed by Democrats and liberals for generations, choosing more “progressive” policies when it comes to dealing with crime and a firm belief that if we simply keep pouring more and more tax money into failing systems they will somehow right themselves. Almost entirely unmentioned in these public discussions is The Ferguson Effect, and the fact that it’s even harder to keep a lid on violent crime when you begin treating your police officers like the enemy.
You can have this debate on MSNBC and CNN every day of the week, folks, but the numbers speak for themselves. A couple years worth of data is now available and it’s telling a story which at some point will have to be examined. After more than twenty years of progress we are now losing ground to the worst, most violent criminals in some of the most at-risk communities. What we do about it is in the hands of the leaders these cities keep returning to office.
Who was it again who coined the phrase about the definition of madness being, doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results?

Donald Trump is right: The Republican nominating process is a scam!

Business Insider ^ | Josh Barro

If Donald Trump arrives at the Republican National Convention with less than a majority of delegates bound to him, his message will be simple: I got way more votes than anyone else, and party insiders are conspiring against me to give the nomination to somebody else.
This complaint will be true, it will be valid, and anti-Trump Republicans will dismiss it at their peril.
There has been a weird epidemic of short-sighted schadenfreude among Republican insiders over the last week, as they have watched Trump's campaign blunder through the intricacies of delegate selection.
It is true that Trump's campaign is doing badly at the small stuff, and it's costing him delegates. Trump failed to organize for Colorado's complex delegate conventions, in which voters never got to express a direct preference for a candidate. He has just started the process of selecting hundreds of delegate candidates in California. He has failed to stack relevant convention committees with his allies.

American Workers Matter: A Chicago Wake and Wake-Up Call

Michelle Malkin website ^ | April 13, 2016 | Michelle Malkin

Circle this date on your calendar: April 22. I’ll be in Chicago that day attending what may be a very significant milestone in American politics and domestic policy. It’s going to be a wake and a wake-up call, part memorial and part protest.
If you are a so-called American “STEM worker” in science, technology, engineering or math, if you have college-age children studying in the STEM fields, or if you have younger children who aspire to work in STEM industries and you are concerned for their future, you should do everything you can to join us.
April 22 is the last day of work for nearly 200 American workers at Abbott Laboratories, the pharmaceutical giant founded by Chicago doctor Wallace C. Abbott in 1888. The company sacked some of its most high-skilled workers in February to make way for H-1B and L-1 visa replacements from Indian offshore outsourcing firm Wipro.
One Abbott worker, who asked to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation, told me: “We were given an agreement which basically says that in order to get compensation you must sign away your rights to sue or disparage the company. I have 3 small children and a wife to provide for — I have nowhere to go because of the H1-B visa loopholes” that “every major company” is exploiting.
Intimidation. Layoffs. “Dig your own grave” severance agreements contingent on training foreign replacements before getting the boot on 60 days’ notice. Promises from Washington to “end H-1B abuse” that is entirely legal because it was baked into the gargantuan immigration law cake crafted by self-serving lobbyists for Big Business working on both sides of the political aisle.
Sara Blackwell, a Florida lawyer and mom of three, knows this pattern well. She’s representing American tech workers at Disney who suffered the same fate and are fighting back with a lawsuit against the entertainment conglomerate and its Indian offshore outsourcing conspirators, HCL and Cognizant. It was Blackwell’s brilliant idea to hold a memorial for the terminated Abbott workers.
She’s inviting the pink-slipped Abbott casualties’ colleagues, families, friends, supporters, other compatriots “affected by the outsourcing or offshoring of American jobs,” and, Blackwell urges, anyone else across the country “who cares about the American worker and the future of America.”
The gathering will take place at Flanagan’s Bar and Grill in North Chicago, Illinois at 5:30 p.m. on April 22, right after work lets out at Abbott Labs. (More information here: protectusworkers.org/2016/03/memorial-for-the-american-worker/.) Because of the stiff sanctions many American high-skilled employees have faced in the past for challenging the H-1B racket (including death threats, bullying and legal threats), Blackwell will be handing out “dark veils” to “conceal mourners’ identities.”
My friend and co-author of “Sold Out,” programmer-turned-lawyer-John Miano, and I will be there to pay our respects not only to the Abbott workers, but also to pay tribute to the thousands of best and brightest IT workers and engineers whose identical plights we spotlighted in our book — along with the many brave whistleblowers John has represented as founder of the Programmers Guild and attorney for tech workers suing over bipartisan executive expansions of sovereignty-undermining guest worker visa programs.
For decades now, U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Silicon Valley lobbyists have dominated Capitol Hill and public debate with theirfraudulent claims that there’s a U.S. tech worker shortage and that wage-suppressing H-1B visas “create jobs.” (I dare Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and Google’s Eric Schmidt to come to Chicago and tell it to our faces.)
The good news: A long-brewing perfect storm — created in part by the rise of Donald Trump, the fall of Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio, high-profile layoffs at Disney, Southern California Edison and Abbott, and transcendent disgust with the immigration expansionist gravy train — has changed the equation for U.S. workers.
Ignored by Washington, fed-up citizens like Sara Blackwell and John Miano are representing the invisible victims of H-1B and the rest of the cheap labor pipeline in court. Even better, they’re entering the political arena themselves. Blackwell last week launched a bold congressional bid in Florida’s House District 72. And you can bet there will be many more like her, inspired to do the job that too many American politicians refuse to do:
Protect American workers and put America first.

A Slow Motion Train Wreck-Watching the end of Western civilization unfold

Frontnpagemagazine ^ | April 13, 2016 | Phyllis Chesler

Reprinted from IsraelNationalNews.com.
The four horsemen ride again; no, the bloody beast is back, slouching its' way towards Bethlehem; no, it is an ancient genie unbound and its’ foul breath smells of more and more blood and human anguish as it grows ever-closer.
Yesterday, I screened a superb film about terrorism and anti-Semitism: "Watching the Moon at Night." It is written and directed by two Swedes: Joanna Helander and Bo Persson. We see, on camera, the late, great Robert Wistrich and Andre Glucksman—and Walter Laqueur, Anthony Julius, Vladimir Bukovsky, Zuhdi Jasser, Ramin Jahanbegloo, Hannah Rosenthal—and Dan Alon, one of the Israeli athletes who survived the Palestinian massacre in Munich in 1972.
We see and hear from the victims of terrorism, those who survived an attack, those who lost loved ones, and we see scenes of carnage in Algeria, Spain, Jerusalem (not identified as Israel in the press materials), New York, Russia, Northern Ireland, Colombia, Norway. We are lulled by the words of Polish Nobel laureate Wislawa Symborska and by bewitching cinematography.
My great good friend Richard Landes has come to visit. He tells me that these Swedish filmmakers have been censored in their own country. (I have had no time to check this out but will do so).
.
Then, he describes our lives, specifically his and mine: "We are watching a slow motion train wreck and we can do nothing to stop it."
"Ah, Richard," I say, "The train is gathering speed even as we speak.”
"Where have we gone wrong? Why didn't they listen to us?" Richard asks.
"Shall we consult Isaiah or Jeremiah on this? Far greater prophets than we two have not been heeded."
"But why don't those who care about Israel and Judaism and Western Civilization listen? Why do they always tell me that I should be doing something else, something that I know is beside the point, something that will make no difference?"
"Richard, those who are on our side are as blind and as arrogant as our opponents are. Ignorance, smallness of vision surrounds us. That is our challenge, our dilemma, our task, possibly our downfall."
I've been writing about what was to come from the moment the two Israeli reservists were lynched in Ramallah in 2000. I saw the handwriting on the sky long before 9/11.
Actually, I've been fighting for Israel since the early 1970's. Back then, I knew that the UN-led scapegoating would lead to something far, far worse--but I did not foresee the end of Western Civilization--and by its own multi-culturally relativist hand. That took a decade. I said so but was not heeded in 1980; Richard said so too, but was not heeded in 1990.
Richard was all over the Al-Dura Blood Libel because he understood that cognitive warfare was fully upon us--and as he says, "Just because an idea is wrong does not make it inconsequential." (I am paraphrasing him here).
The wrong idea is that of Islamic supremacism, Islamic Jihad, radicalized, apocalyptic Islam.
We two are not funded to work on this or on the true meaning and nature of rising anti-Semitism. Others are; some are worthy, most are treading water as fast as they can.
"So-and-so would not fund me because, I was told, he did not much like women."
Richard, tall and male, tells me: "He would not fund me either. He just said: "Nah, I'm not gonna do this."

Under Obama, race relations at all-time low!

The Washington Times ^ | April 11, 2016 | Bradford Richardson

A new poll finds that more than one-third of Americans say they worry “a great deal” about the current state of race relations in the United States, the highest number in the poll’s 15-year span.
Thirty-five percent of Americans in Monday’s Gallup survey said they are extremely worried about the state of race relations, up from 28 percent in 2015. That number is also up by more than 100 percent since 2014, when 17 percent of Americans said they were greatly worried about racial strife in America.
Although the numbers fluctuated in the teens during President Obama’s first six years in office, the first black president’s last two years have seen race relations tumble to a new low.
Heightened concerns over race relations coincide with the rise of the “Black Lives Matter” movement, which was sparked after a series of high-profile incidents in which black men were shot by white police officers.

FUNNY!

Donald Trump spent Thursday in Washington D.C. smoothing over his differences with GOP officials. While in the capital, Mr. Trump also met with his foreign policy team. They consist of a brick-layer, a cement contractor and a guy with a tape measure to make sure the wall is high enough.

Donald Trump refused to fire his campaign manager, saying the female reporter had pulled on Trump's jacket and his aide was trying to protect him by grabbing her arm. It was all so avoidable. They had an ironclad rule in Bill Clinton's campaigns never to pull a woman away from the president.

Bill Clinton campaigned for Hillary at four events in Manhattan Thursday. Bill's sex scandals are changing with the times. Six months from now, the number-one issue in the 2016 campaign will center around what bathroom Bill Clinton intends to use when he becomes America's First Lady.

Superman vs. Batman fell seventy percent at the box office in the movie's second weekend on Sunday. It makes total sense. If anyone wants to see a billionaire with an anger problem fighting a guy from another planet, they can always watch Donald Trump and Ted Cruz on the news for free.

Donald Trump admitted on Fox News Sunday he wished he hadn't engaged Ted Cruz in a war over their wives' looks in TV ads last week. Some women took it as a sign of misogyny. Donald Trump denied he's a misogynist but he admits he goes to a couple of Asian women every week for one.

Democratic strategists worried about low voter turnout in Hillary's primaries this year. They'll turn out in November. A survey of undertakers found the most-requested tombstone inscription in America is Rest in Peace, except in Chicago, where the number one tombstone inscription is, I Voted.

Hillary Clinton sent out a fundraising e-mail to her donors Tuesday lecturing them that she is being out-raised by the Bernie Sanders campaign. Even her e-mails are strident. If we subjected captured terrorists to listening to Hillary Clinton's speeches they'd beg us to return to water-boarding.

Hillary Clinton ridiculed Bernie Sanders campaign promises Tuesday, calling them unrealistic and unaffordable. She's also returning to her centrist Methodist roots. In the last debate, Hillary said that several times a week she speaks to God but never for less than two hundred thousand dollars.

Warner Bros. announced Monday the studio is making a cartoon movie starring the Mexican cartoon mouse Speedy Gonzalez. The political reaction was swift. Donald Trump complained that due to no border controls, Speedy Gonzalez was in Los Angeles taking jobs away from Mickey Mouse.

NYPD corruption scandal leads straight to de Blasio

New York Post ^ | April 7, 2016 | 11:29pm | Michael Goodwin

As Bob Dylan told us long ago, “You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.” These days, a foul wind blows from City Hall.
With subpoenas issued, investigations spreading and at least one federal grand jury at work, the question isn’t whether Bill de Blasio’s administration has a corruption problem. The questions are how big is the problem, how many agencies are tainted and how high up the pecking order does it go? […]
The two biggest and most recent scandals involve lucrative gifts and cash given to current and former top officers in the NYPD, and the removal of a deed restriction and sale of a city-owned Manhattan building that netted private investors a cool $72 million profit.
The rub is that both cases feature donors who contributed large sums to the mayor’s campaign and his slush fund. That would suggest the fish stinks from the head. …

US Giving 2X More Green Cards to Muslim Migrants Than Europeans

FrontPage Mag ^ | April 9, 2016 | Daniel Greenfield

This in a nutshell is why we have a terrorism problem. To have a major problem, you need a base recruiting population inside your borders. Just look at Europe. Without that population base, terrorism is harder. And widespread terrorism of the so-called "Lone Wolf" kind that we're seeing more of now is even harder. But if you keep bringing Muslims to America... then you have the population base.
And the terror.
As Rachel Stoltzfoos at the Daily Caller reports, the priority is for Muslim immigrants over European immigrants.
The United States issues twice as many green cards to migrants from Muslim-majority countries than from Europe, adding to a Middle Eastern migrant population in the country that is one of the fastest growing demographics.
From 2009 to 2013, the U.S. issued 680,000 green cards to migrants from Muslim countries, more than twice the approximately 270,000 green cards issued to migrants from European countries. Green cards entitle migrants to legal permanent residency in the country and work authorization, federal benefits, and the chance to apply for citizenship.
This is consistent with the larger Ted Kennedy shift in immigration which prioritizes Third World immigration over European immigration. But it's also consistent with Obama taking Muslim Syrian refugees over Christian ones. And the growing status of Muslims as the leading victim group.

Hillary Clinton — a student of Saul Alinsky

Post Independent ^ | April 7, 2016 | Mitch Mulhall

I feel confident that I could persuade a millionaire on a Friday to subsidize a revolution on Saturday out of which he would make a huge profit on Sunday even though he was certain to be executed on Monday.”
— Saul D. Alinsky.
...
born in 1909 to Jewish Russian immigrants in a Chicago ghetto. .. Saul’s father instilled in his son a distrust of capitalism and minimized the connection between hard work and economic reward.
...
Alinsky .. achieved entrée into Al Capone’s inner circle: ...
Frank Nitti, known as the Enforcer, Capone’s number-two man, and actually in de facto control of the mob because of Al’s income-tax rap. Nitti took me under his wing. I called him the Professor and I became his student. Nitti’s boys took me everywhere, showed me all the mob’s operations, from gin mills and whorehouses and bookie joints to the legitimate businesses they were beginning to take over. Within a few months, I got to know the workings of the Capone mob inside out.”
Alinsky spent two years as a “nonparticipating observer” of Capone’s mob. “I learned a hell of a lot about the uses and abuses of power from the mob .. lessons that stood me in good stead later on, when I was organizing.” Alinsky may have also learned that a community’s political arena is as ripe an environment for mob tactics as the Chicago streets.
...
a Wellesley College coed submitted a thesis titled, “There is Only the Fight … An Analysis of the Alinsky Model.” In her thesis’s acknowledgments, Hillary D. Rodham thanks Alinsky for his ideas, assistance and even a job offer. She then evaluates three Alinsky community organizing efforts, one of which was Rochester.

Senate Dem: National debt is not 'a threat to our country'

The Washington Examiner ^ | April 6, 2016 | Joel Gehrke

Senate Democrats on Wednesday couldn't agree that federal debt is a national security problem, in a hearing aimed at assessing the long-term strategic implications of the government's $19 trillion debt.

"A realistic discussion about it, and accepting expert opinion that this debt that we have is not actually right now a threat to our country, is I think a more realistic and honorable way of talking to the American people about it," Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., said during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on Wednesday.

That surprised committee chairman Bob Corker, who concluded the hearing by describing such views as "crackpot," and repeatedly said he expected the panel to demonstrate consensus about the need to limit the debt. Markey also insisted that Republicans drop their interest in changing entitlement programs as they try to mitigate the projected federal debt.

Trump proposes funding wall by cutting off remittances

Associated Press ^ | Apr 5, 2016 10:12 AM EDT

Donald Trump would force Mexico to pay for a border wall by threatening to cut off billions of dollars in remittances sent by immigrants living in the U.S., according to a memo released by his campaign Tuesday.

The memo outlines how Trump would try to compel Mexico to pay for a 1,000-mile wall if he becomes president.

In his proposal, Trump threatened to change a rule under the USA PATRIOT Act, an anti-terrorism law, to cut off funds sent to Mexico through money transfers known as remittances. Trump said he would withdraw the threat if Mexico makes “a one-time payment of $5-10 billion” to finance the wall. …

Pat Buchanan Joins Trump – Cruz Convention Unity Movement (Brilliant - Retain Rule 40 Movement!)

Conservative HQ ^ | 5 Apr 16 | George Raisley

While we disagree with Mr. Buchanan on which candidate is the best standard bearer for the conservative movement there is one thing we do agree on – passionately.

No matter who gets the Republican nomination, the establishment must lose.

In a recent column “Lock Out The Establishment In Cleveland!” Pat Buchanan echoed the conclusions of our four-part series on what conservatives should do if Trump wins the nomination:

As Buchanan explained, to accomplish that goal, “All Trump and Cruz need do is instruct their delegates to vote to retain Rule 40 from the 2012 convention. Rule 40 declares that no candidate can be placed in nomination who has failed to win a majority of the delegates in eight states.”
Trump has already hit that mark. Cruz almost surely will. But no establishment favorite has a chance of reaching it.

With Cruz and Trump delegates voting to retain Rule 40, they can guarantee no Beltway favorite walks out of Cleveland as the nominee — and that Ted Cruz or Donald Trump does.

As Pat Buchanan said, “No matter who wins in Cleveland, the establishment must lose.” We urge Trump and Cruz delegates across the country to do what their compatriots in Tennessee and a few other states have started to do; get together and form an informal alliance that commits them to voting for Cruz or Trump – and only Cruz or Trump.

What Trump Has Wrought

Townhall.com ^ | April 5, 2016 | Pat Buchanan

As Wisconsinites head for the polls, our Beltway elites are almost giddy. For they foresee a Badger State bashing for Donald Trump, breaking his momentum toward the Republican nomination.
Should the Donald fall short of the delegates needed to win on the first ballot, 1,237, there is growing certitude that he will be stopped. First by Ted Cruz; then, perhaps, by someone acceptable to the establishment, which always likes to have two of its own in the race.
But this city of self-delusion should realize there is no going back for America. For, whatever his stumbles of the last two weeks, Trump has helped to unleash the mightiest force of the 21st century: nationalism.
Transnationalism and globalism are moribund.
First among the issues on which Trump has triumphed -- "We will build the wall -- and Mexico will pay for it!" -- is border security.
Republican candidates who failed to parrot Trump on illegal immigration were among the first casualties.
For that is where America is, and that is where the West is.
Consider Europe. Four months ago, Angela Merkel was Time's Person of the Year for throwing open the gates to the "huddled masses" of the Middle and Near East.
Merkel's Germany is now leading the EU in amassing a huge bribe to the Turks to please take them back, and keep them away from the Greek islands that are now Islam's Ellis Island into Europe.
Africa's population will double to 2.5 billion by 2050. With 60 percent of Africans now under 25 years of age, millions will find their way to the Med to cross to the Old Continent where Europeans are aging, shrinking and dying. Look for gunboats in the Med.
If immigration is the first issue where Trump connected with the people, the second is trade.
Republicans are at last learning that trade deficits do matter, that free trade is not free. The cost comes in dead factories, lost jobs, dying towns and the rising rage of an abandoned Middle America whose country this is and whose wages have stagnated for decades.
Economists who swoon over figures on consumption forget what America's 19th-century meteoric rise to self-sufficiency teaches, and what all four presidents on Mount Rushmore understood.
Production comes before consumption. Who owns the orchard is more essential than who eats the apples. We have exported the economic independence that Hamilton taught was indispensable to our political independence. We have forgotten what made us great.
China, Japan, Germany -- the second, third and fourth largest economies on earth -- all owe their prosperity to trade surpluses run for decades at the expense of the Americans.
A third casualty of Trumpism is the post-Cold War foreign policy consensus among liberal interventionists and neoconservatives.
Trump subjects U.S. commitments to a cost-benefit analysis, as seen from the standpoint of cold national interest.
What do we get from continuing to carry the largest load of the defense of a rich Europe, against a Russia with one-fourth of Europe's population?
How does Vladimir Putin, leader of a nation that in the last century lost its European and world empires and a third of its landmass, threaten us?
Why must we take the lead in confronting and containing Putin in Ukraine, Crimea and Georgia? No vital U.S. interest is imperiled there, and Russia's ties there are older and deeper than ours to Puerto Rico.
Why is it the responsibility of the U.S. Pacific Fleet to defend the claims of Hanoi, Manila, Kuala Lumpur and Brunei, to rocks, reefs and islets in the South China Sea -- against the claims of China?
American hawks talk of facing down Beijing in the South and East China Seas while U.S. companies import so much in Chinese-made goods they are fully subsidizing Beijing's military budget.
Does this make sense?
Patriotism, preserving and protecting the unique character of our nation and people, economic nationalism, America First, staying out of other nation's wars -- these are as much the propellants of Trumpism as is the decline of the American working and middle class.
Trump's presence in the race has produced the largest turnout ever in the primaries of either party. He has won the most votes, most delegates, most states. Wisconsin aside, he will likely come to Cleveland in that position.
If, through rules changes, subterfuge and faithless delegates, party elites swindle him out of the nomination, do they think that the millions who came out to vote for Trump will go home and say: We lost it fair and square?
Do they think they can then go back to open borders, amnesty, a path to citizenship, the Trans-Pacific Partnership and nation building?
Whatever happens to Trump, the country has spoken. And if the establishment refuses to heed its voice, and returns to the policies the people have repudiated, it should take heed of John F. Kennedy's warning:
"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable."

SURE WE WILL!

Hillary Clinton: ‘The Unborn Person Doesn’t Have Constitutional Rights’

CNS ^ | 04/03/16 | CNSNews.com Staff

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on NBC’s “Meet the Press today that “the unborn person doesn’t have constitutional rights.”
Clinton made the statement in response to a question from “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd. Clinton also said that an unborn child’s constitutional rights are “not something that exists.”
Todd asked: “When, or if, does an unborn child have constitutional rights?”
“Well, under our laws, currently, that is not something that exists,” said Clinton. “The unborn person doesn’t have constitutional rights. Now that doesn`t mean that we don’t do everything we possibly can in the vast majority of instances to, you know, help a mother who is carrying a child and wants to make sure that child will be healthy, to have appropriate medical support.
“It doesn’t mean that you don’t do everything possible to try to fulfill your obligations, but it does not include sacrificing the woman’s right to make decisions,” Clinton continued. “And I think that’s an important distinction that under Roe v. Wade we’ve had enshrined under our Constitution.”

Donald Trump's Unusual Plan to Lower the National Debt: Sell Off 19 Trillion In Government Assets!

NBC News ^ | 4 hours ago | by ANNE THOMPSON and CHRISTINA COLEBURN

As president, Donald Trump would sell off $16 trillion worth of U.S. government assets in order to fulfill his pledge to eliminate the national debt in eight years, senior adviser with the campaign Barry Bennett said.
"The United States government owns more real estate than anybody else, more land than anybody else, more energy than anybody else," Bennett told Chris Jansing Sunday on MSNBC. "We can get rid of government buildings we're not using, we can extract the energy from government lands, we can do all kinds of things to extract value from the assets that we hold."
In a wide-ranging interview with The Washington Post, Trump said he would get rid of the $19 trillion national debt "over a period of eight years." The article noted that most economists would consider Trump's proposal impossible, as it could require slashing the annual federal budget by more than half.
However, when pressed on whether the United States could sell off $16 trillion worth of assets, Bennett responded affirmatively on Sunday.
"Oh, my goodness," he said. "Do you know how much land we have? You know how much oil is off shore? And in government lands? Easily."
The federal government's assets totaled $3.2 trillion as of September 2015, according to the U.S. Government Accountability Office. However, that does not include include stewardship assets or natural resources.

The Hillary Irony: Near-Rock-Bottom Ratings among Women!

National Review ^ | April 4, 2016 | John McLaughlin & Jim McLaughlin

Steven Shepard of Politico wrote an important article last week about Donald Trump's "rock bottom" ratings with women. And his low standing with women has certainly become a much-discussed topic among pundits analyzing the Donald Trump candidacy.
An overlooked story, however, is that Hillary Clinton, who might become the first female president in the history of the United States, isn't far behind in her unfavorability ratings among women. Our just-released poll shows that Donald Trump has a 68 percent unfavorable rating among women. But 58 percent of women say they view Hillary Clinton unfavorably. In fact, Hillary's unfavorable rating was two points higher among women than it was among men.

Free College Is Too Expensive

The American Mirror ^ | April 2, 2016 | Steve Feinstein

There’s a reason why old clichés tend to hang around for decades. The reason is they’re based on fact.
Example: “There’s no such thing as a free lunch.” When someone says that a critically-important product or service is “free,” it isn’t. Everything costs money. Everyone who performs a service or delivers a product gets paid, as well they should. The only question is, by whom?
A popular recent theme is free college, which joins free preschool and free healthcare as the latest thing they say we’re “entitled” to for free, that we “deserve.”
Everything provided by other people costs money, in the form of salaries, rent, transportation, etc. -- every aspect of a delivered product or service is paid for by someone. If the government is going to provide something to the population for “free,” then the Government has to raise the funds to do so, by collecting taxes. The government has no “money;” it’s not like there is some big bank account that the government can tap when they need something extra and just write a check the way you do to cover rent or a car repair or a new refrigerator.

Poll: Romney's favorability lower than Trump's

The Hill ^ | March 31, 2016 | Jesse Byrnes

Mitt Romney's national favorability rating is even lower than Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's, according to a new poll. The 2012 GOP presidential nominee is viewed favorably by 23 percent of registered voters, according to the left-leaning Public Policy Polling survey released Thursday, while 65 percent view him unfavorably.
Trump is viewed favorably by 29 percent, while 63 percent hold an unfavorable view.
Romney denounced Trump during a major speech earlier this month, calling him a "fraud." He's since campaigned against the businessman.
Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) also faces stark numbers, with 37 percent of those polled approving of his handling of Speaker duties and 44 percent disapproving.
The poll saved its harshest numbers for Congress in general: A whopping 79 percent of voters disapprove of the job Congress is doing, while 13 percent approve.
Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders both hold double-digit leads over Trump and GOP rival Ted Cruz in hypothetical head-to-head matchups.

Chalk Markers terrorizing college students!

Canada Free Press ^ | 04/02/16 | Jeff Crouere

Today, our young people are captives of a system that is turning them into sniveling cowards afraid to debate and face the challenges of the real world
Another week, another campus threatened by the dangerous slogan, “Trump 2016.”
Last week, the students of Emory University in Atlanta needed counseling and mental health evaluations after noticing their campus was polluted by disgusting chalk markings. The offensive words included “Trump,” “Trump 2016,” and “Vote Trump” and they were found on concrete steps and even, heaven forbid, the sidewalk.
Immediately after noticing the horrific chalk graffiti, 50 students demanded a meeting with Jim Wagner, Emory University President, because they felt “genuine concern and pain.” Even worse, Wagner met with the lunatic liberals and promised an “investigation,” which raises the true concern of whether free speech is even allowed on the campus.

Clinton aide could prove criminal acts in Hillary probe

WND ^ | 03/31/2016 | Jerome R. Corsi

Justin Cooper, a little-known Clinton political operative with important financial ties to both Bill and Hillary Clinton, is certain to be at the center of the “official acts” part of the FBI investigation into Secretary Clinton’s use of a private email server, which is examining whether she committed criminal acts by using her State Department office to influence donations to the Clinton Foundation.
Cooper was copied in an email that shows, contrary to Hillary Clinton’s original claims, she used more than one private account while serving as secretary of state.
As first reported by Breitbart in September 2015, archived Internet records establish that Hillary Clinton’s private email server was registered to Justin Cooper on Jan. 13, 2009, approximately one month before she was sworn in as secretary of state.

Obama hails Iran deal as a model for nuclear diplomacy (what crap)

Associated Press ^ | Apr 1, 2016 11:14 AM EDT | Josh Lederman

President Barack Obama hailed the nuclear deal with Iran on Friday as a “substantial success” and a model for future diplomacy, as world leaders took stock of the world’s most worrisome nuclear threats.
Hosting his last nuclear security summit, Obama sought to use the controversial Iran deal as an argument for his carrot-and-stick approach to deterring nuclear proliferation, and he credited Iran with taking steps to meet its commitments. Critics of the deal in the U.S. and abroad are livid about the sanctions relief Iran is receiving in response.
“It will take time for Iran to reintegrate in the global economy, but Iran is already beginning to see the benefits of this deal,” Obama said as he met with the leaders of China, France and other U.N. Security Council members that negotiated the Iran deal alongside the U.S. […]
“This is a success of diplomacy that hopefully we will be able to copy in the future,” Obama said. …

3 Examples of Voter Fraud Across US

Daily Signal ^ | 3/31/2016 | Jason Snead

With the 2016 election season well underway, millions of voters across the country have already cast their ballots in primaries and caucuses. Republican and Democratic candidates are locked in close races for the highest office in the land, and every vote cast makes a difference.
The Heritage Foundation’s voter fraud database catalogues over 400 cases of proven voter fraud throughout America. Whether it be vote-buying, ineligible voting, false registrations, or fraudulent use of absentee ballots, the database makes clear that voter fraud is a real issue and one that must be effectively addressed—not denied, as some voter reform critics have done—in order to preserve the integrity of the electoral system.
Here are some recent additions to the database:
Pennsylvania
Robin Trainor pleaded guilty to two charges of voter impersonation fraud at the polls in the 2014 primary. While serving as judge of a polling place, Trainor went inside a voting booth with her husband to “assist” him—that is, she told him whom to vote for. Trainor then stepped out, falsely signed the election register under her son’s name, reset the voting machine, and cast a vote in his name. Trainor was placed on one year of probation and stripped of her right to vote for the next four years.
Alabama
Daniel W. Reynolds was recently sentenced to two years of probation for falsifying absentee ballots in a 2013 campaign for commissioner. Reynolds, the chief campaign volunteer for the re-election campaign of Commissioner Amos Newsome, pleaded guilty to three counts of absentee ballot fraud. Newsome won re-election by a mere 14 votes, after winning 119 of the 126 absentee ballots cast.
New Hampshire
Derek Castonguay, a resident of Manchester, N.H., pleaded guilty to a charge of duplicate voting. Castonguay voted in the towns of Salem and Windham in the 2014 general election. Following his guilty plea, he was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and received a 12-month suspended sentence. In addition to the fine and sentence, Castonguay was stripped of his right to vote.
Minnesota is an example of a state that had rampant voter fraud between 2008 and 2011. In that time frame, there were over 100 convictions for various voter fraud offenses throughout the state, including ineligible voting, false registrations, and fraudulent use of absentee ballots.
For those who deny the impact voter fraud may have on elections, consider that the 2008 Minnesota election unseated incumbent Republican Sen. Norm Coleman. Although it is impossible to know whether this rampant fraud changed the outcome of the election, it is worth remembering that the declared victor, Democrat Al Franken, became the sixtieth Democratic senator, creating a temporary filibuster-proof majority that paved the way for the ultimate passage of the Affordable Care Act.
These are just a few of the hundreds of documented examples of voter fraud that have occurred and continue to occur throughout the country due to lax laws and a lack of vigilance. For every case of voter fraud that is successfully discovered and prosecuted, there are undoubtedly many more that go undetected.
In a report entitled “Does Your Vote Count?,” the Heritage Foundation examines the problem of voter fraud, as well as potential steps and solutions that can be taken by government at all levels in order to ensure the integrity of the electoral process.
The report tackles the persistent myths about voter fraud and voter ID laws and makes clear that election fraud is an issue that must be acknowledged and confronted. There is nothing more central to American democracy than free, fair elections. Without them, the entire system is in jeopardy.
