"HR4038 - American Security Against Foreign Enemies Act of 2015" (Flashback: Paul Ryan voted yes)

Congress.gov ^ | 12/08/15 | self

Someone needs to remind Paul Ryan that he needs to think before he comes out and 'tries" to put down anyone (including Donald Trump). Paul Ryan and most of the GOP voted YES for H.R.4038.

That would make them a hypocrite dissing Trump then (in my opinion). The fake outrage of the right (and left) is funny to watch as Trump will win this again!

Part of this bill states... "A covered alien may not be admitted as a refugee until the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation certifies to the Secretary of Homeland Security and the Director of National Intelligence that each covered alien has received a background investigation that is sufficient to determine whether the covered alien is a threat to the security of the United States.".

A. G. Loretta Lynch, Obama Regime’s latest 1st Amendment opponent should resign

Coach is Right ^ | 12/8/15 | Alec Rooney

If Loretta Lynch had a shred of understanding of her true role as Attorney General of the United States, she would be resigning about now.
So join the chorus letting her know that she should do just that. Sign the Christian Action Network’s petition calling for her resignation.
Immediately after 14 people were shot to death and nearly two dozen wounded in San Bernardino, Calif. last week, Lynch put on her top-nationwide-United-States-official hat and roundly condemned anyone who might dare speak ill of Muslims.
She even threatened prosecution of anyone whose words about Islam “edge toward violence.”
Who committed the atrocity in California? Why, it was Muslims. Acting in the name of Islam. The same kind of bitter, murderous, peace-and-freedom-hating malcontents who have been murdering and destroying all over the globe for nearly as long as anyone can remember.
When she made her “edge toward violence” warning, take a look at the kind of violence that had just occurred. Fourteen people dead, a variety of races, ethnicities and religions, gathered for a holiday party. Yet it is a new, as-yet-nonexistent, hypothetical violence on which she chose to focus.
On Pearl Harbor Day, no less.
The blood was barely dry on the pavement.
What about the victims, Ms. Lynch? What about their families? What about the rest of us out here, left wondering where the next vicious Islamic husband-and-wife murder team will choose to start killing Americans, and when?
A real attorney general, at a time like this, addresses those concerns. She goes to...

Obama hasn't learned the most important lesson of 9-11

Tashfeen-Malik1
Flashback: Obama ridicules the GOP for worrying about women and children refugees:
President Obama is lashing out at Republican politicians who oppose allowing Syrian refugees into the U.S., accusing them of being "scared of widows and orphans."Speaking to reporters Wednesday morning in the Philippines, Obama scoffed at attempts to block refugees following the Paris terror attacks as "political posturing" that "needs to stop."
"Apparently they are scared of widows and orphans coming into the United States of America," Obama said of Republicans. "At first, they were too scared of the press being too tough on them in the debates. Now they are scared of three year old orphans. That doesn't seem so tough to me."
Who's afraid of women? I mean, really.
Obama defended the screening for Syrian refugees as the "most rigorous process conceivable," hours after White House officials held a conference call with governors to reassure them about the security procedures for refugees.
Tashfeen Malik passed a Department of Homeland Security Counterterrorism background check.
And you know who greased the skids for Malik's entry into the US?
That would be one Barack Obama, who relaxed the rules for fiancée waivers.
Orphans? Did someone say orphans?

Did someone say kids?

Rush Limbaugh: Obama Says "ISIL" (Not "ISIS") to Insult and Threaten Israel

Gateway Pundit ^ | 12/08/2015 | Rush Limbaugh

isil obama
It’s all about Israel.
Rush Limbaugh explained the difference between ISIS and ISIL – it’s all about Israel.
Via the Rush Limbaugh Show:
I think most people are wondering, “What is this ISIL? Why does he keep calling it ISIL? It’s ISIS.” They’re not saying, “Well, that’s because ISIS he can pin to Bush, but ISIL he can’t, so he doesn’t want to –” I just don’t think that anybody in the Regime even thinks that people are going to think in these terms. I think there’s a totally different reason for this. And I don’t know how to say it. (laughing) (interruption) Well, it does. Snerdley is asking me, “Doesn’t it have something to do with Israel?” Yes, because the Levant is the entire region.
ISIS stands for the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq, or Iraq and Syria, that’s the I-S, and ISIL, the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant includes more than Iraq and Syria. It would include Israel, which, to these people, Israel is a fraud. Israel doesn’t deserve to be there. That’s all Palestine and that’s what I think is behind the pronunciation, this insistence that it be called ISIL. He’s the only one that does it. I mean, others in the Regime do. Even the media calls it ISIS, but he sticks with ISIL.
I think he’s got a different audience for the term. I don’t think he’s talking to the American people. I think he’s talking to Iran. We just heard Walid Phares say that Obama’s linkage here is not to oppose ISIL because Iran supports ISIL, and it’s all to do with the sectarian violence between the Sunnis and the Shi’ites and the fact that Iran capitalizes on the sectarian violence, does not want it solved because they hope to end up controlling the entire Levant — uh, sorry — region. Didn’t mean to say that.
So your explanation makes total sense if people were attuned, the American people domestically were attuned to when ISIS began, when it didn’t began. See, I don’t think — I could be wrong about this. Very rare that I would be wrong, but it’s possible. I think the American people are so far beyond “Bush did it” and this and that. I mean, Bush is eight years ago now, seven-years. They know Bush had nothing to do with San Bernardino. He had nothing to do with Fort Hood. People know that when Bush was president, this stuff didn’t happen. People know that when Bush was president, there wasn’t an ISIS. ISIS and all of this happens to coincide with the election of Barack Hussein O. But the use of the word “Levant” has an audience in the Middle East. He’s not talking to us.

Hispanic voter clout imperiled by Texas case before U.S. top court

Reuters ^ | 12/7/2015 | By Lawrence Hurley

The growing influence of Hispanic voters in the United States could be blunted by a case coming before the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday in which two voters backed by a conservative group are challenging the way Texas draws electoral districts.
At issue is whether these districts should contain the same number of people or whether they instead should contain the same number of eligible voters. The distinction may seem mundane, but the court's ruling in the case could be consequential.
Hispanic advocates and civil rights groups said a ruling backing plaintiffs Sue Evenwel and Edward Pfenninger could trigger nationwide political upheaval by diminishing the influence of Hispanic voters, who tend to back Democrats, and boosting the power of rural white voters, who tend to back Republicans.
Counting everyone and not just eligible voters magnifies the electoral influence of locales, typically urban, with sizable populations of people not eligible to vote, including legal and illegal immigrants as well as children.
Evenwel and Pfenninger maintain that the Texas process, based not on eligible voters but on total population, violated the long-established legal principle of "one person, one vote" endorsed by the Supreme Court in the 1960s.
The challengers said the state Senate redistricting map signed into law in 2013 did not equally distribute voters, improperly inflating the voting power of urban areas.
Among the people living in the urban districts are large populations of mainly Hispanic non-citizens and their children.
A broad win for the plaintiffs would be a "game-changer," according to Ilya Shapiro, a lawyer at the Cato Institute, a libertarian think tank that filed a brief backing the challengers.

Planned Parenthood spearheads new initiative to propagandize students on homosexuality

LifeSiteNews ^ | 12/8/15 | Dustin Siggins

WASHINGTON, D.C., December 8, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) – Sex education promoting "positive representations of LGBT-related topics" may be coming to a school near you, thanks to a partnership among Planned Parenthood, a sex education group, and three LGBT organizations.

According to a document published by the organizations, abstinence-only education and traditional views on family are eschewed in order to provide LGBT students with education that empowers sexual relationships between members of the same sex. "In qualitative research conducted ... LGBTQ youth reported either not having any sex education in their schools or having limited sex education that was primarily or exclusively focused on heterosexual relationships between cisgender people (people whose gender identity matches their sex assigned at birth), and pregnancy prevention within those relationships," it claims.

The groups – which include Advocates for Youth, GLSEN, the Human Rights Campaign, and Answer – say that "lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth need and deserve to learn in settings that are inclusive of their experiences[.]"

The groups also say that traditional values are not constructive. Their program specifically criticizes federal funding of abstinence-only education, and claims that noting that men and women are functionally different "reinforce[s] gender stereotypes and heterosexual relationships." It also targets the idea that "[t]he only safe sex is in a marriage relationship where a man and a woman are faithful to each other for life" and disparages criticism of single-parent families and of the destruction of marriage in America.

Ascend president Valerie Huber, whose organization promotes abstinence among teenagers, told LifeSiteNews that the effort to "normalize teen sex" is part of "a sex education agenda that increases risk for youth."

"They are, in effect, creating a new sexual double standard, that insists that LGBTQ students should be receiving sex education that differs from the student population in general," she explained. "We believe that all youth deserve the encouragement, skills, and information that will help them avoid all sexual risk. We believe that youth, regardless of their sexual orientation, are better served if they avoid sex and focus on their education and future goals instead."

Perhaps surprisingly, the groups say their goals include "[d]elaying the age of first sexual intercourse," "[r]educing the overall number of sexual partners" students have, "[r]educing unintended teen pregnancy," and "[r]educing rates of teen HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs)."

A recent federal report showed that men who have sex with men are at the greatest risk for numerous STIs, including HIV/AIDS. Two years ago, another report showed that two thirds of men who have sex with men while knowing they have HIV/AIDS do so without condoms.

Additionally, the group document declares, "Comprehensive sex education delivered in schools from kindergarten through 12th grade is the best way to provide truly LGBTQ-inclusive sex education and ensure positive sexual health outcomes for all youth" – something refuted by numerous studiesthat show that sexual abstinence until marriage is best for relationships and children.

"The CDC reveals that LGBTQ students are at increased risk for a variety of risk behaviors," continued Huber. "Rather than normalizing risky activities, health classes and sex education classes should help all youth aspire to a worry-free and risk-free adolescence by giving them the skills to avoid all risk, including sexual risk."

"Social science research tells us that high expectations move students forward toward optimal health and low expectations do the opposite. The Planned Parenthood et al sex education proposal uniquely offers low expectations to LGBTQ youth, putting them at even greater risk. Such should not be the case."

While Huber said that "sex education, ideally, should be taught in the home," she noted that "sex education has been a part of school curriculum for decades, so it’s doubtful that it will go away anytime soon."

"As long as schools teach sex ed, it should follow the paradigm used for addressing other risk behaviors, and that is by encouraging youth to avoid all sexual risk – and, if they are already engaged in sexual risk, to move toward a risk-free lifestyle in the future."

Sanctuary cities put law-abiding citizens at risk

The Washington Times ^ | December 8, 2015 | Hans A. von Spakovsky

San Francisco and other cities across the United States have created so-called "sanctuaries" for illegal aliens. These municipalities are defying federal immigration law, just like some Southern jurisdictions that defied federal civil rights laws in the 1960s.
But unlike that earlier era, today's sanctuary cities are creating safe havens for known criminals. Their policies have victimized innocent Americans, enabling illegal aliens to commit thousands of crimes that would not otherwise have occurred.
There is no question that sanctuary policies violate federal immigration law. One provision of the law (8 U.S.C. 1373) bans local governments from preventing law enforcement or other government officials from sharing information with the federal government on the "citizenship or immigration status, lawful or unlawful, of any individual."
So sanctuary policies such as those in San Francisco that ban local police officers from notifying the Department of Homeland Security when they arrest a criminal alien -- or release him after he has served his sentence -- are plainly illegal. Unfortunately, in keeping with its general non-enforcement policy regarding immigration law, the Obama administration announced in 2010 that it would not sue sanctuary cities for flouting the law.
We know these criminal aliens are victimizing Americans. In 2011, the Government Accountability Office released a study on approximately 250,000 illegal aliens locked up in our federal, state and local prisons. Those prisoners had been arrested nearly 1.7 million times and committed 3 million offenses, averaging about seven arrests and 12 offenses each. Their convictions ran the gamut from drug-dealing and sex crimes to kidnapping and murder.

Reminder: Jimmy Carter banned all Iranians from entering US (Trump is correct ...again)

Poor Richards News ^ | 12/08/15 | Poor Richard

This is just a reminder to all the liberal Democrats out there wringing their hands about Donald Trump’s latest comments.
from Front Page:
During the Iranian hostage crisis, Carter issued a number of orders to put pressure on Iran. Among these, Iranians were banned from entering the United States unless they oppose the Shiite Islamist regime or had a medical emergency.
Here’s Jimmy “Hitler” Carter saying it back in 1980.
Fourth, the Secretary of Treasury [State] and the Attorney General will invalidate all visas issued to Iranian citizens for future entry into the United States, effective today. We will not reissue visas, nor will we issue new visas, except for compelling and proven humanitarian reasons or where the national interest of our own country requires. This directive will be interpreted very strictly.
Apparently barring people from a terrorist country is not against “our values” after all. It may even be “who we are”. Either that or Carter was a racist monster just like Trump.
Meanwhile here’s how the Iranian students in the US were treated.
Carter orders 50,000 Iranian students in US to report to immigration office with view to deporting those in violation of their visas

Fmr.FBI Agent: We have Received 'Nearly Zero Help' from U.S. Muslim Community Since 9/11

Breitbart.com ^ | 12-7-2015 | Tony Lee

Fmr. FBI Counterterrorism Agent: We've Received 'Nearly Zero Help' from U.S. Muslim Community Since 9/11
by Tony Lee 7 Dec 2015
Though President Barack Obama claimed that America must "enlist Muslim communities" to combat terrorism in his Sunday evening Oval Office address, former FBI Counterterrorism Agent John Guandolo said on Monday's Breitbart News Daily (6AM-9AM EST on Sirius XM Patriot channel 125) that since 9/11, "we collectively have received nearly zero help from the Muslim Community."
Guandolo, who pointed out on Friday's Breitbart News Daily that a "vast majority" of U.S. mosques and Islamic centers are a part of a much larger "jihadi network," told host and Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon that though Muslim community leaders "certainly give the air as if they are helping," if one looks at the "major Islamic organizations, the major Islamic centers in the United States," they have "condemned all of the counter-terrorism policies and they've gotten the government to kowtow to them, to turn only to them for advice."

The real reason why Ted Cruz is surging in the polls [Not what you will read elsewhere]

American Thinker ^ | 12/07/2015 | Ed Straker

Ted Cruz is shooting up in the polls. In two recent national polls he has surged into a virtual three way tie for second place with Ben Carson and Marco Rubio with 16% support. It was just a month and a half ago that Cruz was in the low single digits.

And in Iowa one new poll shows him in second place, and another shows him actually beating Trump, 24% to 19%!

Two things have happened here. First, Ben Carson supporters have been deserting him in droves, due to concerns about his knowledge of foreign policy and his soft-spoken manner.  But secondly, Ted Cruz has changed his speaking style dramatically.

It was just a month or two ago that I criticized the timid tone of Cruz's campaign. When asked about transgendered people serving in the military, Cruz merely said

"We shouldn't view the military as a cauldron for social experiments," Cruz said.

That's not very inspiring. He talked like a political science professor. Even his tone of voice, was soft, gentle. I remember the very soft, non-confrontational way he spoke to Jorge Ramos. Cruz made his conservative points, but in an almost apologetic tone.

That Ted Cruz is gone now. Just listen to him at the Freedomworks summit in Iowa. When I heard him speak, I didn't recognize his voice. He has literally changed his tone of voice, going down an octave. He is now louder and more assertive. He talks about  carpet-bombing ISIS into oblivion. He talks about abolishing the IRS, Department of Energy, Department of Education, the Department of Commerce, and HUD. He makes challenging statements

Mass Murder and Identity Politics

National Review ^ | 12/7/2015 | Victor Davis Hanson

Too many Muslim immigrants are angry rather than grateful toward their new country.

Why would Ms. Tashfeen Malik, who was born in Pakistan but lived most of her life in Saudi Arabia, want to come to the United States?

She obviously hated the United States and its values, at least enough to help stockpile an arsenal and to kill 14 people and wound another 21 in San Bernardino.

Or for that matter, why did her husband and co-mass-murderer Syed Rizwan Farook, if he was unhappy with his native America, not return to his parents' Pakistan, where he might, in greater peace, have practiced Sharia law, memorizing his Koranic verses without the temptations of crass and uncouth American culture?

Or why did not family members or friends notice the couple's assembling of a veritable arsenal of assault in their townhouse? And if they did notice, why did they not help to protect their adopted country?

And why did a spokesman for the Council on American–Islamic Relations (CAIR), Hussam Ayloush, as if suffering from a politically correct tic, almost immediately tie terrorism in the U.S. with American foreign policy? "Let's not forget that some of our own foreign policy, as Americans, as the West, has fueled that extremism," he said. " . . . We are partly responsible. Terrorism is a global problem, not a Muslim problem." Was that pop exegesis designed to show Americans how CAIR abhors Islamic-inspired terrorism inside the U.S.?

As part of the "Other," the San Bernardino terrorist tandem did not seem to direct their furies against the so-called dominant white culture or white privilege, given that their innocent victims were of all races and both sexes and representative of multiracial America, a country both far more diverse and far more tolerant of diversity than, say, Pakistan.

Common Core Computer Crack-up

Accuracy in Academia ^ | December 6, 2015 | Malcolm A. Kline

What do Common Core and Obamacare have in common, other than the enthusiasm they engender in the White House and widespread disappointment they generate outside of it? Both programs have fatal computer glitches.
"New Hampshire-based company Measured Progress, which developed online Common Core tests used in Montana, Nevada, and North Dakota, has acknowledged a major glitch in the tests' rollout," Chris Neal reported in School Reform News. "Technical malfunctions, such as servers crashing during testing, resulted in only 37 percent of Nevada students being able to take their exams."
"Meanwhile, Montana and North Dakota only managed to test 76 percent and 84 percent of students, respectively." That would put Measured Progress in hot competition with the servers that deliver Obamacare for the dubious distinction of delivering the worst computer system to get a federal contract. School Reform News is published by the Heartland Institute.
"Though Measured Progress admitted the online test completion rate in all three states failed to meet the federal mandate of 95 percent of 3rd through 8th graders, the company denies any breach of contract," Neal goes on to report. "Measured Progress was tasked with rolling out the Common Core-aligned Smarter Balanced assessments online for all three states."

1932 and 1944: Two new books shine spotlight on success, failure of FDR

watchdog.org ^ | December 8, 2015 | John Bicknell

Franklin Delano Roosevelt loved to keep secrets.
He didn't want the public to know he was bound to a wheelchair, so he went to elaborate lengths to hide his inability to walk on his own. And when he was dying, his doctors hid it from the public. Even Roosevelt himself didn't want to know.
Secrets of a different sort lie at the heart of two new books about Roosevelt the candidate and Roosevelt the president, with a special guest appearance by Adolf Hitler, before he became der fuehrer.
David Pietrusza's 1932: The Rise of Hitler and FDR--Two Tales of Politics, Betrayal, and Unlikely Destiny and Jay Winik's 1944: FDR and the Year That Changed History bookend the Roosevelt presidency and perhaps the most tumultuous dozen years of the 20th century. Both are well written, well researched from secondary sources and good reads. But they are very different books.
