Gov. Moonbeam Brown Moves Bill That Would Mandate 50% Reduction In Gasoline Usage by 2030 (stay outta California)!

LA CBS ^ | 07/17/2015 | LA CBS

LOS ANGELES ( — As Gov.Moonbeam Brown prepares to travel to Rome next week for an international climate conference, the debate over a bill aimed at reducing gas usage in California is heating up.
Brown fully supports SB-350, which would mandate a 50-percent cutback in California’s gas usage in the next 15 years, arguing that it’s a prime factor in global warming.
“We’ve got a serious problem here,” he told KCAL9 Political Reporter Dave Bryan via satellite. “Burning oil and gas and coal and diesel is a big part of the problem. We’ve got to find new bio-fuels. We have to be more efficient. We’ve got a lot to do. And by the way, if we do nothing, the cost is unimaginable.”
“We think this is reckless legislation and one that people certainly need to be aware of because it’ll impact every single motorist in the state of California,” Tupper Hull of the Western States Petroleum Association said via Skype.
Critics charge the bill provides no specific plan to achieve the massive cutback in gas usage. That would be left up to the California Air Resources Board, which those critics, like the oil industry say, would have no limits on what it could mandate.
The impact on Californians, they argue, could be devastating.
“What are they supposed to do to get to work? To get their kids to school?” asked Hull. “What is supposed to replace all of this gasoline and diesel that’s gonna be taken out of the system?”
“Well, of course, the people who are gonna sell 50 percent less petroleum are not only gonna have questions, they’re gonna have a fierce, unrelenting opposition. So, let’s be clear about that,” said Brown.
Cutting gas consumption in half, though, may be especially difficult in the Los Angeles area, where sitting in traffic jams is a long hated ritual and the rapid transit system is still decades away from being a truly comprehensive regional people mover, like New York or Chicago have.
While the oil industry have been leading the charge and criticizing the bill, Assemblyman Roger Hernandez, a Democrat from West Covina, was quoted in The Los Angeles Times as questioning whether an appointed board should be making the rules for cutting gas consumption, charging the bill would give them a blank check of unregulated and unlimited power over the lives of Californians.
In an interview, Brown asked in response: who do you want regulating the consumption? The oil companies?
“You saw what they did and what? Did gasoline go up 80 cents in the last week? Who’s regulating that? Well, the companies were. So, you can have a company regulate or you can have an agency of government,” Brown said, adding: “You need an authority within government to set the conditions of survivability.”
The bill appears to be well on its way to passage having already cleared the state Senate and some Assembly committees, but the debate over how to cut in half California’s dependency on gas by 2030 is possibly just beginning.

The Tennessee Shooter Had A Different Name And Now Confirmed A PALESTINIAN TERRORIST

Shoebat Foundation ^ | July 17, 2015 | Walid Shoebat

As stated yesterday prior to media speculation, that the Tennessee shooter was Palestinian, now the government of Jordan confirms it as reported by CNN Arabic. Also, his real name is not Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez. The shooter’s real name is Mohammad Youssuf Saeed Al-Hajjaj born September 5th, 1990 and gained a temporary Jordanian passport. His father had changed his last name to Abdulazeez for unknown reasons in which his son then carried that last name as well. It is common for many Palestinians who are doing nefarious activities to change names.
While the media speculated his background and motive, his features, family Facebook, and connections were easy for us to establish that what we have here is a Palestinian pro-Hamas terrorist who went to Jordan and most likely got involved with ISIS affiliates. Jordan epecially is infested with a huge number of ISIS supporters as has reported previously. All one has to do is to go to the southern city Ma’an and see demonstrations in full support of ISIS as you see in this photo. [Link to article].
In fact, the expert on jihadist movements Affairs, Hassan Abu Haniya, said that between Jordan and Iraq ISIS controls all border crossings.
It is not difficult then to find the motive, the plan and the execution.
We will continue researching and will do updates on this link, so stay tuned.

Abbott orders Texas National Guard to carry guns at military facilities (Texas understands)

Dallas Morning News ^ | 07/18/2015 | Robert T. Garrett

AUSTIN — Gov. Greg Abbott says he is reluctantly asking Texas Military Forces to arm soldiers at their home bases after Thursday’s attacks at military sites in Tennessee that killed four Marines and one sailor.
Abbott said in a release Saturday that he will authorize Adjutant General John Nichols of the Texas National Guard to arm National Guard personnel at military facilities across Texas. Abbott’s move followed shootings on two military facilities in Chattanooga, Tenn.
“It is with a heavy heart that I issue this order,” he said.
The Republican governor said the Chattanooga events made “clear that our military personnel must have the ability to defend themselves against these type of attacks on our own soil.

Hillary Clinton has been doubling down on Obama's radical coalition strategy, but that depends on passionate base turnout and the only people passionate about Hillary hate her. Meanwhile the Democrats are losing white voters badly.
"Democrats are hemorrhaging those voters and need to figure out how to stop the bleeding," said Mo Elleithee, a former top Democratic National Committee official who now runs Georgetown University's Institute of Politics and Public Service. "There could come a point where Democrats cannot afford to lose any more white voters. It's in the interest of Democrats to be taking steps to reverse that now."
Elleithee pointed to Florida, where President Obama's 2-and-a-half-point 2008 victory narrowed to a 1-point 2012 win, which then became a 1-point loss in Democrat Charlie Crist's run for governor in 2014—even though the Crist campaign hit its turnout targets for African-Americans and Latinos.
Steve Schale worked on all three campaigns. He said it makes more sense to increase support from whites just a little bit than trying to boost support from minority groups a lot. "Take Hispanics alone: Every point of white share you lose, you have to win Hispanics by 4 to 5 points more" to make up for it, Schale said. "In '08, we knew if we really focused on keeping whites above 40 (percent), we couldn't lose. To me, that makes more sense than always trying to cobble out a tight win. And at some point we are going to max out (with) Hispanics."
And Hispanic votes tend to shift with the general electorate, like Jewish votes, unlike black votes which are much less mobile. That makes reliance on a Hispanic voting bloc a risky strategy. But the Dem left has its head and it loathes white voters.
Hillary Clinton is increasingly outsourcing her campaign to corporate consultants who are treating it like a marketing opportunity and left-wing veterans of Obama who are trying out the same playbook.
But tellingly it's a Democrat who warns about the importance of white voters and a Republican who dismisses them.
Meanwhile, Republican pollster Bill McInturff scratches his head while watching all this hand-wringing over a demographic group that will continue to decline in significance. For one thing, he said, the 27-percentage point advantage Republicans built among white men in 2012 is probably about as bad as it can get for Clinton, given that a sizeable percentage of white men are white-collar liberals.
McInturff has prepared an analysis that even increases the Republican advantage with white men, to 31 percent, and decreases the GOP's disadvantage among black and Latino voters slightly. But it still shows Republicans losing the next election by 3 points.
So to him, it's not even worth debating whether Clinton should work to appeal more to white men, which her husband Bill Clinton successfully did 23 years ago, rather than the "Obama coalition" of urban whites, young people, and minorities.
"The hell with it," he said. "For all the trees that have been killed by the press about which strategy she should pursue, her campaign is doing exactly the right thing. There's not a choice. She's pursuing the one strategy that will win the presidency."
And this in a snapshot is why we're losing. The Democrats are abandoning white voters, but so are Republicans.

Top Iranian Nuke Deal Negotiator Admits "Anytime" Inspections Are Pretty Much Bogus ^ | July 17, 2015 | Katie Pavlich

As you know by now, earlier this week the Obama administration struck a nuclear deal with Iran, claiming "the most intrusive inspections ever" were part of the negotiation process.
First, lets take a step back to April when White House Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes said the White House was demanding anytime, anywhere, 24/7 inspections.
"We will have anytime, anywhere access to the nuclear facilities."
As Guy has pointed out, Obama's Energy Secretary also said anytime, anywhere inspections were expected with a deal.
But fast forward to this week and Rhodes is claiming anytime, anywhere inspections weren't ever on the table and that inspections have been tailored to nuclear facilities.
"We never sought anytime/anywhere inspections," he recently told CNN's Erin Burnett.
Further, as part of the deal reached Iran will have a 24 day heads up period before inspections are conducted, giving the regime the ability to move around and hide any potential violations of the nuclear agreement.
Now Wendy Sherman, a top negotiator for the Iranian nuclear deal and the same woman who handled negotiations of North Korea's nuclear program in the 1990s (that went well), is admitting that the entire inspections process is pretty bogus (bolding is mine).
The US pledge three months ago for “anytime, anyplace” access to Iran’s nuclear facilities was more of a rhetorical flourish than anything else, US Under Secretary of State Wendy Sherman said on Thursday “I think this is one of those circumstances where we have all been rhetorical from time to time,” Sherman, who played a central role in the negotiations, said in a conference call with Israeli diplomatic reporters.

“That phrase, ‘anytime, anywhere,’ is something that became popular rhetoric, but I think people understood that if the IAEA felt it had to have access, and had a justification for that access, that it would be guaranteed, and that is what happened.”
What could possibly go wrong?
Vice President Joe Biden was on Capitol Hill twice this week trying to convince skeptical Democrats to support the deal. Congress is in a 60-day review plan of the bill and waiting for an up or down vote. The United Nations will be given the chance to vote on the plan before Congress in the next few weeks.

Could biotin tame tinnitus? ^ | July 14, 2015 | By JOE and TERESA GRAEDON

Q: I wanted to share my experience with tinnitus. It's not incapacitating, but it is annoying. I found something that helps by serendipity.
My wife has hair loss. She takes levothyroxine (Synthroid) and liothyronine (Cytomel) because her thyroid was removed via radiation. She also takes biotin to lessen her hair loss.
I'm bald on top, but I thought I'd see if biotin would help grow new hair. It didn't.
What DID happen with the very first dose was total elimination of my tinnitus! A few hours after I take the biotin, the tinnitus returns, but at a much lower intensity.
A: Tinnitus is the perception of noise that no one else can hear: buzzing, whining, chirping or clicking noises. It becomes more common with age, as the nerves in the ear deteriorate, or it may be associated with noise-induced hearing loss.
Some people take biotin to improve nail strength. We were unable to find research linking biotin to tinnitus management, so you may have stumbled on something. This water-soluble B vitamin is considered reasonably safe.

Biotin Treatment Biotin, also known as vitamin H or coenzyme R, is a water-soluble B-vitamin. It is composed of a ureido ring fused with a tetrahydrothiophene ring. A valeric acid substituent is attached to one of the carbon atoms of the tetrahydrothiophene ring. Wikipedia Formula: C10H16N2O3S Molar mass: 244.31 g/mol IUPAC ID: 5-[(3aS,4S,6aR)-2-oxohexahydro-1H-thieno[3,4-d]imidazol-4-yl]pentanoic acid Melting point: 449.6°F (232°C) Soluble in: Water May treat: Alopecia, Inborn error of metabolism, Vitamin b deficiency May prevent: Nutritional and metabolic diseases

DoJ to Sheriff Joe: Speak Spanish in jails!

The Washington Times ^ | July 17, 2015 | Stephen Dinan

The Justice Department announced a deal Friday requiring Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio to provide services in Spanish to his jail inmates, settling part of a two-year-old discrimination complaint the Obama administration filed against the man known as “America’s Sheriff.”
Federal authorities will also become permanent overseers for all worksite raids, with the power to demand information about any raids that deputies perform. The Justice Department says it will scrutinize them to make sure they’re following the Constitution.
Still to come is a ruling by a court on charges that sheriff’s deputies discriminated in targeting Hispanics for traffic enforcement.
But Friday’s deal settles many of the complaints about how Sheriff Arpaio runs the county jails and how it conducts its worksite raids.

Congressional Republicans have already capitulated on Obama’s disastrous Iran deal

AEIdeas ^ | July 15, 2015 | Marc A. Thiessen

the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act that Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) negotiated with Obama guarantees that the Republican Congress will give its stamp of approval to Obama’s nuclear agreement with Iran.
Worse, it gives Democrats political cover by allowing them to vote against the Iran agreement without actually killing it – so they can say they opposed this disastrous deal without actually delivering an embarrassing defeat to their president.
Instead of requiring that Congress vote to affirmatively approve the Obama-Iran agreement before it can take effect, Congressional Republicans agreed to move forward with a “resolution of disapproval” – which allows the agreement to take effect unless it is disapproved by Congress.
Democrats who need political cover to vote “no” will be released by their leadership to do so, so long as their votes don’t jeopardize the final outcome.
The resident will prevail, and Democrats like Sen. Chuck Schumer will be able to say they opposed their president and stood with Israel – when they really didn’t.
This week, the Obama Administration cut a deal that will pave the way for an Iranian nuclear bomb. But weeks ago, Congressional Republicans cut a deal that paved the way for Obama’s disastrous nuclear agreement with Iran.
So let’s not pretend the Congressional debate over the next 60 days is anything other than a farce.

Dem group trying to dig up dirt on Donald Trump!

Politico ^ | 7/17/15 12:59 PM EDT | Nick Gass

Donald Trump is leading the GOP field in several recent national polls, while attracting no shortage of controversy — and airtime — for his now-month-old comments on immigration.
The remarks that Mexico and other countries are sending their worst, including rapists and murderers, resulted in the loss of business deals and partnerships from NBCUniversal, Macy’s, Univision and more.
And now, apparently, at least one Democratic group is conducting its own opposition research on the real estate mogul, who claims his wealth is more than $10 billion.
According to documents provided exclusively to POLITICO, the Democratic-backed American Bridge 21st Century super PAC has begun submitting requests under the Freedom of Information Act to the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Federal Aviation Administration for correspondence with employees of The Trump Organization, including Trump himself.
The two separate FOIA requests, both filed Wednesday, request a variety of memos, documents and other correspondence related to or referring to Trump.

Oh Hey, an Obama Advisor Just Blatantly Lied About the Iran Deal on CNN!

Mediaite ^ | 07/15/2015 | Alex Griswold

It’s possible that Rhodes was simply mistaken the first two times he said in separate interviews that anytime/anywhere inspections were the goal of the Obama administration. Maybe the national security advisor to the President of the United States of America has no idea what the United States’s interests in Iran are. No biggie.
Or maybe he blatantly lied to the American public. Hard to say which is more embarrassing.

Rep. Luis Gutiérrez Calls Murder of Kate Steinle a ‘Little Thing’ on Telemundo!

NewsBusters ^ | July 16, 2015 | 8:24 PM EDT | Yuri Perez

Reporting on a recently released survey by Rasmussen Reports that indicates that 62% of Americans oppose sanctuary city policies, Telemundo, the nation’s second largest Spanish-language network, slanted its coverage in favor of maintaining the controversial policy.

Reporting from the sanctuary city of Chicago, Telemundo correspondent Janet Rodríguez cited an unauthorized immigrant in favor of the policy, along with two quotes from Congressman Luis Gutiérrez (D-IL), who had the gall to minimize Kate Steinle’s murder, at the hands of a hardened criminal and five-time deportee, in the sanctuary city of San Francisco.
“Every time a little thing like this happens, they use the most extreme example to say it must be eliminated.” …

Exploding Muslim immigration overwhelms FBI

WND ^ | July 17, 2015 | Leo Hohmann

Expansive visa programs make it 'impossible to track them all'
The FBI failed to stop another terror attack, this time in Chattanooga, and the pressure building on the bureau from President Obama’s reckless immigration policies may be reaching a boiling point, say security experts.
And the problem goes far beyond a loose border, where some 400,000 illegal aliens enter each year.
It’s also the ease with which someone from a hostile Middle Eastern country can get a visa.
Under current U.S. immigration policy, an ISIS terrorist doesn’t need to hop a fence or swim a river to reach America. He can enter the U.S. legally as a student, as a skilled guest-worker, as a refugee, as an entrepreneur, or as a tourist – and fly here in the comfort of a jumbo jet.
According to U.S. Census data, the U.S. welcomes about 100,000 Muslim immigrants legally each year. This represents the fastest growing segment of immigrants coming to America.
While some may enter with questionable backgrounds, the chances are greater that they will get radicalized after they arrive.
Take the case of Chattanooga terrorist Youssef Mohammad Abdulazeez.
He arrived with his parents from Kuwait in 1996 at the age of 6. He attended U.S. schools, and by all accounts was a fully assimilated U.S. naturalized citizen.
Abdulazeez was a success story just waiting to be told by Obama’s newly created White House Taskforce on New Americans, which collaborates with community-organizing groups like Welcoming America to convince Americans that expansive immigration brings only good things to their cities and towns.
But something happened over the last two years of Abdulazeez’s life that changed him. Last year, at the age of 23, he traveled to Jordan and Yemen for seven months, and U.S. intelligence agencies aren’t sure who

Paying More And Buying Less: The Story Of Obamacare!

Daily Cailer ^ | July 17, 2015 | By David J.Herbert

Insurance companies are seeking to raise their premiums by as much as 65 percent because enrollees who signed up “seem to be older with more chronic conditions like diabetes or congestive heart failure than predicted.”
There are two sources of this high degree of sickness: fewer healthy people have signed up for the exchange than anticipated. For healthy people, particularly young people, some provisions of Obamacare provide too much coverage in wrong areas, making them too expensive. As a result, these healthy people don't sign up, meaning that the average person in the exchange is sicker because there aren't enough healthy people to decrease the average.
Enrollment numbers show this: in 2010, the CBO projected 35 million people would sign up for Obamacare. Today, a mere 16.4 million have done so. The Obama administration says they need 40 percent of enrollment to be people between the ages of 18 and 34 for the program work. As of 2014, 25 percent of Obamacare enrollees were in that age group.
The second source is much more pernicious. Obamacare provides a means for one group of people to use taxpayer money to purchase health insurance and, in turn, health care. Because of this they can go to the doctor at a lower out-of-pocket cost than before. While on the surface this looks like a victory, at a deeper level it is a counterproductive failure, especially when coupled with America’s still-broken healthcare system.
By lowering out-of-pocket expenses of doctor visits, some people are steered away from home remedies like bed rest, drinking fluids, and cough medicine, which may have cured their ailment. Because people don't face the full cost of doctor visits, they are more likely to do so. . .

There’s no mystery about why Democrats resist enforcing our immigration laws.

The National Review ^ | 7-16-15 | Ian Smith

There’s no mystery about why Democrats resist enforcing our immigration laws. A new “sanctuary cities” map from the Center for Immigration Studies goes a long way toward explaining why open-borders Democrats are so addicted to flouting our immigration laws.
When you consider the political makeup of the cities, counties, and states where illegal aliens are welcomed, you start to suspect that the liberal elite in San Francisco and elsewhere aren’t interested only in cheap nannies and gardeners. For them, pulling in more illegal aliens is, perhaps first and foremost, about pumping up their political power.
The Census Bureau includes aliens (both legal and illegal) in the statistics used to apportion our 435 congressional districts. This has the perverse effect of helping states with bigger immigrant populations to inflate both their representation in Congress and the number of Electoral College votes they are allotted (the latter is a function of the former).
Just through their illegal-alien numbers, the states of New York, New Jersey, California, Florida, and Illinois, which all went for Obama in 2012, received eight additional congressional seats in the last reapportionment, with over half of those gains coming from their sanctuary cities and counties. It’s clear, then, why Democrats resist enforcing our immigration laws: More bodies mean more power.

Dems come to defense of Planned Parenthood (selling baby body parts)

The Hill ^ | 7/15/15 | Sarah Ferris

Congressional Democrats are coming to the defense of Planned Parenthood as Republicans launch investigations into the group’s use of fetal tissue from abortions.

Multiple Democratic lawmakers on Wednesday dismissed a secretly recorded viral video that shows a Planned Parenthood executive detailing how the livers, lungs and hearts of fetuses are preserved during abortions for medical research.

“It’s got a Benghazi feel to it, for me,” centrist Rep. Scott Peters (D-Calif.) said.

“They’ve been attacking Planned Parenthood for years,” said Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), another prominent abortion rights supporter. “They’ve been calling for investigations for years.”

Still, the footage, which was recorded by anti-abortion advocates posing as fetal tissue buyers from a research company, is putting Democrats in an uncomfortable spot.

While Democrats have for years defended Planned Parenthood against GOP attacks, the graphic discussion about “fetal parts” in the video has energized conservative groups that say the reality of abortion is deliberately obscured by the media.

The remarks from Planned Parenthood’s chief medical director surfaced Tuesday in a nearly nine-minute video that was created by a new group, the Center for Medical Progress.

Planned Parenthood, which receives federal funding that cannot be used for abortions, has acknowledged that the video does feature its top medical officer but says the footage is heavily edited and “grossly mischaracterizes” the organization’s practice of donating fetal tissue to research.

At least one anti-abortion Democrat, Rep. Dan Lipinski (Ill.), said he supports the GOP for its planned investigations. Lipinski denounced the video in a press conference with several House Republicans on Wednesday and said he believes more of his colleagues in the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus will follow.

“I’m hopeful that some of the pro-choice Democrats also come out in support of the investigation to find out what’s going on at these clinics,” he told The Hill. “I think everyone should be concerned about it, no matter what your position is on abortion.”

Some Democrats, like Rep. Diana DeGette (Colo.), the co-chairwoman of the House Pro-Choice Caucus, have been cautious in their response to the video.

In a statement to The Hill, she expressed support for Planned Parenthood, though it fell far short of a sweeping defense.

“Planned Parenthood has spoken clearly on the specific circumstances surrounding this video, and I will let their experts explain for themselves. Circumstances of this video aside, people need to understand the important research that specific tissue types contribute to,” she wrote in a statement.

The video, which is nearing 1.5 million views online, reverberated across Capitol Hill and the campaign trail on Wednesday.

Less than 24 hours after it surfaced, lawmakers in the House had opened a pair of congressional investigations. Dozens of Republicans, including Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), have condemned the claims in the video as “inhumane” and “grotesque.”

GOP presidential hopefuls, including Sens. Ted Cruz (Texas) and Rand Paul (Ky.), are also raising the issue’s national profile.

The remarks by Planned Parenthood’s medical director in the video are shockingly candid.

While sipping wine in a Los Angeles restaurant, she describes “crushing” the fetus in a way that preserves its organs for researchers. She also describes the growing demand for liver, lungs and “intact” hearts.

Democrats have said there’s no evidence that the group is violating federal laws from her remarks, though none of them told The Hill they had seen the video.

“Planned Parenthood is actually allowed, is my understanding, for scientific research, to use fetal tissue, and that is not illegal,” said Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.), a member of the Congressional Pro-Choice Caucus who said she had spoken to Planned Parenthood leadership.

When asked about Republicans’ planned investigations into Planned Parenthood, Schakowsky said she wanted an investigation into the Center for Medical Progress, which she called “a phony company.”

The issue of abortion has already caused trouble for members of Congress in both parties this year, from a bipartisan Senate bill to fight human trafficking to a House bill banning late-term abortions that drew objections over its language on rape.

Earlier this week, House leaders pulled a bipartisan bill from Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) that would have created a commemorative coin to help raise money for breast cancer research because some of that funding would have gone to Planned Parenthood.

The bill was ultimately passed Wednesday with broad support from both parties. But Maloney hinted that the delay was, in part, because of the Planned Parenthood video.

Asked if she thought the outrage over the video fueled sudden opposition to her bill, Maloney responded, “Yes.

“It is an unusual coincidence, shall we say.”
