Cyber-Security Expert: North Korea Takes Credit for NYSE Attack – No Coincidences – This Is Major

The Gateway Pundit ^ | 7/8/15 | Jim Hoft

Cyber-Security expert Greg Keeley said the North Koreans are taking credit for the “glitch” that took down the New York Stock Exchange today.
Keeley said there is no way these several glitches are not connected. And that may very well be possible.
“For the administration to come out so hard and so fast and say this was not an attack I think is disingenuous… This is a major attack and for us to bury our head in the sand is very troubling.”

Obama’s Whoppers Will Bite Him in the End and the Democrats, Too, In 2016

Townhall.com ^ | July 8, 2015 | Donald Lambro

WASHINGTON - This is a time to be very skeptical of political analysts who are telling voters that the Democrats "have regained an advantage" over the GOP as we head toward the 2016 presidential election.
And time to be dubious of President Obama's claim that if you get health insurance through your job, and are not in Obamacare, "you're still paying about $1,800 less per year on average than you would be if we hadn't done anything."
Democrats are going to be making utterly false claims between now and the 2016 elections: about the economy, jobs, wages and Obamacare.
The claim that Democrats have suddenly regained the political advantage over Republicans is of course highly questionable at this point in the 2015-16 election cycle. But let's deal with Obama's exaggerated health care claim first.
Remember the whopper he repeatedly told, that if you didn't like his "Affordable Care Act," you can keep the health insurance policy you have now. "No one can take that away from you."
Then, millions of Americans were hit with notices from their health insurance providers that their policies were no longer valid because they did not contain provisions that were mandated under his health care reforms.
And guess what? Our new policy ended up costing us more than the one we had before.
Well, he's at it again, only now he's saying health care costs are falling and the $1,800 he's saving Americans is entirely due to his health care law. The Washington Post's ace fact checker, Glenn Kessler says "the jury is still out on that."
There are many factors contributing to health insurance costs, such as economic growth, inflation and signing a broad range of younger, healthier policy holders.
When Obama made a similar claim not too long ago, Kessler gave him two Pinocchios. When he made it yet again in the wake of the Supreme Court's decision that upheld a key provision on policy subsidies, Kessler was still dubious.
Attributing "the full $1,800 in savings to his health law is a stretch," he says.
When Americans heard Obama claiming that he was responsible for declining health insurance premium rates, they must have said, huh?
The fact is that since Obamacare was enacted, medical care premiums have been rising -- by 20 to 40 percent in some markets, it has been widely reported.
A study of health insurance plans by the Kaiser Family Foundation in nearly a dozen big cities concluded that next year's health insurance costs are set to rise by 4.4 percent.
That brings us to the 2016 election and a Gallup poll released last week on party identification, showing that the Democrats "have regained an advantage" over the GOP.
But there are more powerful political currents at work here than just party identification. Such as seeing how much more is being taken out of your paycheck for health insurance. Or, if you are paying for a private plan, getting a notice that your monthly bill will be significantly increased in a few months.
Republicans will be pounding that issue this year and next and blaming Obama and the Democrats for making medical insurance unaffordable for millions of middle-class Americans who aren't getting Obama's subsidies.
And that's an issue that cuts across all political lines, because everybody knows who rammed the Obamacare bill through Congress, over the objections of Republicans, and who signed it into law, don't we?
Then there is the weakened Obama economy and the Gallup Poll's Economic Confidence Index that found a lot of Americans are pretty sour about it.
"For the week ending June 28, 24% of Americans said the economy is 'excellent' or 'good,' while 29% said it is 'poor'," Gallup reported.
"The economic outlook component score was -11 in June, based on 42% of Americans saying the economy is 'getting better,' and 53% said it is 'getting worse,'" Gallup said.
The Obama economy not only stopped growing in the first three months of this year, it actually shrank by 0.2 percent.
If you believe all the financial analysts on the nightly newscasts who say that the economy will be bouncing back soon, another Gallup poll this week should disabuse you of that notion.
U.S. consumer spending was flat in the month of June, and remained "essentially unchanged from the previous two months," according to Gallup's daily tracking polls of more than 14,000 adult Americans.
Other surveys found that Americans are keeping a tight grip on their money, and weak retail spending underscores those findings.
No wonder Gallup's daily surveys find that nearly 40 percent "say they are worried about money."
Despite Obama's boasts that unemployment has fallen like a rock and Americans are doing a lot better financially, that's not what people are telling Gallup in its daily tracking polls.
Their surveys show that 14.5 percent of the people they poll say they're involuntarily underemployed and need but cannot find full time jobs.
While the government puts the unemployment rate at 5.3 percent, Gallup's own survey puts that number at 6 percent. Much if not most of the decline in the jobless rate is due to long-term, unemployed workers dropping out of the labor force.
Gallup's Jeffrey Jones' analysis says the Republicans "have seemingly lost the momentum they had going into last fall elections."
But that political momentum will return, if the economy remains sluggish or worse, wages stay flat, and the GOP saturates the air waves with TV ads that tell the voters who is to blame for America's economic troubles.
There's a reason why Obama's job approval numbers remain stuck at 46 percent and Republicans took control of Congress in 2014.
And why the GOP is now poised to take over the Oval Office, too.

Emails: Obama Admin Planned Criminal Charges against Political Opposition

Freedom Outpost ^ | July 7, 2015 | Tim Brown

Via a Freedom of Information Act Request, Judicial Watch obtained several documents. Among those was a DOJ Recap with the following:
On October 8, 2010, Lois Lerner, Joe Urban, Judy Kindell, Justin Lowe, and Siri Buller met with the section chief and other attorneys from the Department of Justice Criminal Division's Public Integrity Section, and one representative from the FBI, to discuss recent attention to the political activity of exempt organizations.
The section's attorneys expressed concern that certain section 501(c) organizations are actually political committees "posing" as if they are not subject to FEC law, and therefore may be subject to criminal liability. The attorneys mentioned several possible theories to bring criminal charges under FEC law. In response, Lois and Judy eloquently explained the following points:
  • Under section 7805(b), we may only revoke or modify an organization's exemption retroactively if it omitted or misstated a material fact or operated in a manner materially different from that originally represented. If we do not have these misrepresentations, the organization may rely on our determination that it is exempt. However, the likelihood of revocation is diminished by the fact that section 501(c)(4) -(c)(6) organizations are not required to apply for recognition of exemption.
  • We discussed the hypothetical situation of a section 501(c)(4) organization that declares itself exempt as a social welfare organization, but at the end of the taxable year has in fact functioned as a political organization. Judy explained that such an organization, in order to be in compliance, would simply file Form 1120-POL and paying tax at the highest corporate rate.
Keep in mind that this was all going on as the unconstitutional IRS was targeting conservative groups for the Obama administration.
Lerner and her aide Judy Kindell told the DOJ and FBI that "although we do not believe that organizations which are subject to a civil audit subsequently receive any type of immunity from a criminal investigation, she will refer them to individuals from CI (Criminal Investigations) who can better answer that question."
According to the memo, Lerner "explained that we are legally required to separate the civil and criminal aspects of any examination and that while we do not have EO law experts in CI, our FIU agents are experienced in coordinating with CI. The attorneys asked whether a change in the law is necessary, and whether a three-way partnership among DOJ, the FEC, and the IRS is possible to prevent prohibited activity by these organizations."
In another document obtained by Judicial Watch, the IRS was to provide the FBI with 1.25 million pages of taxpayer information, which consisted of 113,000 C4 returns from January 1, 2007 to October 5, 2010.
According to Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton, "These new documents show that the Obama IRS scandal is also an Obama DOJ and FBI scandal. The FBI and Justice Department worked with Lois Lerner and the IRS to concoct some reason to put President Obama's opponents in jail before his reelection. And this abuse resulted in the FBI's illegally obtaining confidential taxpayer information. How can the Justice Department and FBI investigate the very scandal in which they are implicated?"
Judicial Watch also reported:
Democratic Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse held a hearing on April 9, 2013, during which, "in questioning the witnesses from the DOJ and IRS, Whitehouse asked why they have not prosecuted 501(c)(4) groups that have seemingly made false statements about their political activities…"
The House Oversight Committee followed up on these Judicial Watch disclosures with hearings and interviews of Pilger and his boss, DOJ Public Integrity Chief Jack Smith. Besides confirming the DOJ's 2013 communications with Lerner, Pilger admitted to the committee that DOJ officials met with Lerner in October 2010. Judicial Watch obtained new documents about these meetings in December 2014 showing the Obama DOJ initiated outreach to the IRS about prosecuting tax-exempt entities.
Following Judicial Watch's lead, the House also found out about the IRS transmittal of the confidential taxpayer information to the FBI. Because of this public disclosure, the FBI was forced to return the 1.25 million pages to the IRS.
A previous report had demonstrated that the DOJ and the IRS were targeting conservative non-profits and in April there were more emails that demonstrated the collusion of the Holder Justice Department and the IRS to actually jail opponents to Barack Obama.
Clearly, it was the intent of the Obama administration to intimidate without fully showing their hand and having to prove what they were claiming against those who opposed them. Now, the evidence is becoming clearer and more damning, but will anyone actually step away from politicking in order to bring about resolve and justice upon those involved?

Those Are Great Talking Points’: Ted Cruz Hits Back at MSNBC Host’s SCOTUS Claim With Two Questions

The Blaze ^ | Jul. 8, 2015 9:05pm | Jason Howerton

Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), a Republican presidential candidate, sparred with MSNBC host Chris Matthews on Wednesday over whether the Supreme Court has become too “partisan” following the high court’s recent decisions on Obamacare and gay marriage.
Though he’s done so in the past, Cruz said he’s reluctant to advocate for “judicial retention” elections every eight years. However, he also said he’s tired of seeing some of the justices “not honoring their judicial oaths.”
Matthews later insinuated hypocrisy, accusing Cruz of “loving” it when the Supreme Court “seized the presidency in 2000” for former President George W. Bush during the infamous Florida recount fiasco.

“If there was ever a case of partisanship or ideology getting out of hand, it was 2000 — and you loved it!” Matthews said.
“Those are great talking points,” Cruz replied. He then asked, “How many times did they count the ballots in Florida?”
“Four times,” Matthews answered.
“Four times. How many times did Bush win?” Cruz pressed.
“Four times,” the MSNBC host admitted. “But they wanted to try one more time. Aren’t states allowed to do that?”
Cruz then argued the Democrats’ strategy in 2000 was to “keep counting and counting and counting and counting, and eventually maybe enough people will cheat and somehow our guy will win.”
