You may perhaps have noticed the swiftness and sloppiness with which Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby charged the six officers involved in Freddie Gray’s arrest with his death.
A number of other people have noticed, too — notably Page Croyder, an attorney and 20-year veteran of the Baltimore State’s Attorney’s Office. In a blog post that was picked up by the Baltimore Sun, Croyder said that Mosby could even be jailed for false arrest.
She also said that, if not an arrest, the attorney was opening herself up to a civil suit by the policemen in the Freddie Gray case.
In the blog post, Croyder wrote, “Mosby has undermined the cause of justice rather than promoted it with her haste. She has created an expectation of guilt and conviction. But her own charging documents do not even support the most sensational charge of second degree murder, and they raise multiple points of doubt about other charges.
