Help Wanted: National Leader!

Barbwire ^ | August 15, 2014 | Lee Duigon
The following is from the Classified section of The Infernal Times. Printed on asbestos paper, the date is missing.  Help Wanted: Chief Executive to expedite the decline and fall of a great and mighty nation.  *No Experience Necessary.* Indeed, Our Prince prefers the Applicant to have no relevant experience at all. Background in executive management a definite minus. We wish to avoid even the appearance of competence. It is Our Prince’s opinion that when malevolence is at a loss, ignorance will supply what is needed. The most desirable Applicant will have no work experience whatsoever, but will be strongly given to idleness and time wasting. *Applicant is to be a stranger to the truth.* We seek a chief executive who will lie at every opportunity, even on those rare occasions when it would profit him to tell the truth. It must be accurately said of Applicant that “the truth is not in him.” Furthermore, it is desirable that the Applicant himself shall believe all manner of lies—especially lies that are, on the very face of it, ridiculous (“Islam is a religion of peace,” or “Government must act to eradicate Income Inequality,” and so on). He must be able to pass on and endorse such Mephistophelian whoppers as Global Warming, Comprehensive Immigration Reform, Reproductive Rights, and Marriage Equality without so much as the flutter of an eyelash. Ideally, he will even believe his own lies that he just made up, mere moments ago; and under no circumstances will he knowingly speak truth. *Applicant must be a stranger to morality.* His character must be without even a trace of “morality” as defined by the Enemy above. He must be altogether without shame, with no ability to experience it, dedicated to wickedness on both the grand and trivial scales. Everything wrong, perverse, unlawful or unreasonable must enjoy his highest approbation and esteem; while all things that the Enemy and His people call good, wholesome, lawful or sensible will have his hatred and contempt. He will present all unrighteousness as righteousness, all things unjust as just, and wrap all covetousness, class hatred, envy, racial animosity, and crime in a covering of “fairness.” Far from being only personal preferences, he will labor to enact all wickedness as public policy backed by the full coercive force of his administration. *Applicant shall despise his countrymen.* His pride will be such that he will hold himself above the people, as if he were their god. But he will be an alien to their way of life, and will actively frustrate all efforts to preserve it. Instead, he will act to fundamentally transform it by promoting sodomy, atheism, and public education. He will feel himself perpetually wronged and victimized by his own country, and devote himself to taking vengeance. His country’s enemies shall be his friends and allies, and every detail of his policy shall have as its purpose the weakening, abasing, and punishing of that nation. *Applicant shall be, above all, a fool.* The Enemy has rightly said, on many occasions, that the fool is wise in his own eyes. In his depth of ignorance and sheer inability to achieve self-knowledge, applicant shall consider himself the wisest of all mortals, and certainly the wisest in the 57 states. It will be impossible to advise him. He will surround himself with yes-men and toadies, and listen only to that counsel which matches his own preconceived notions. He will speak inanities and double-talk, and call it wisdom. The sound of his own voice will enchant him. *Finally, applicant shall habitually invoke the name of the Enemy’s Son, which we shall not mention here, to justify his wicked policies.* In this way he not only takes the Enemy’s name in vain, but also uses the Son to bear false witness against the Father: two “sins,” as They call them, for the price of one. *Compensation.* Unlimited self-gratification, the exercise of power unrestrained by law, a nice salary with a lovely pension, unlimited vacation time paid for by his working countrymen, and afterward, a great library bearing his name, and all the money he can gobble up in speaker’s fees and book contracts. Application for this important position may be made by phone, 1-800-HELLFIRE, or in person at the office of Beelzebub, six doors down from the main Gate of Hell.

Obama’s Son Looks Like Ferguson! ^ | August 15, 2014 | John Ransom
Well Obama’s had a son after all.   It’s a strapping, weighty and very unhealthy mixture of the pent up discontent that is Obama’s America. Yes, the man who once race-baited by pretending that Trayvon Martin was his own son, now dead and gone, is definitely the father of this version of our country. The likeness and resemblance is too striking for him not to be. Congratulations Daddy! “On Wednesday night,” reports the New York Times, “scores of police officers in riot gear and in armored trucks showed up to disperse protesters [in Ferguson] who had gathered on the streets near the scene of the shooting [of Michael Brown, 18]. Some officers perched atop the vehicles with their guns trained on the crowds while protesters chanted, ‘Hands up, don’t shoot.’” Hands up, don’t shoot is good advice. Even for a big mouth president. Because in my lifetime I’ve never seen a president shoot off his mouth so recklessly than Obama has…except of course in times when he all he does is shoot himself in the foot. When he’s too busy for example dancing, vacationing, campaigning, or raising money—which, not coincidentally, are all activities that look alike to Obama—then the man whose mouth operates like Joe Biden’s shotgun, isn’t necessarily saying anything reckless, but rather doing reckless things instead. “President Obama must really be teed off,” writes Dana Milbank in the Washington Post, “Hillary Rodham Clinton, his once-loyal secretary of state and his likeliest successor, has gone rogue, criticizing his foreign policy as too timid.” So Obama got mad and went to play golf. Twice. That’s because Obama’s on a vacation in Martha’s Vineyard, “a decision that, if not in the category of stupid stuff,” concludes Milbank, “could fit under the heading of ‘tone deafness.’” I’m trying to decide which is worse for the country: Obama saying reckless things or doing reckless things? Because as stupid and harmful as his inane chatter is to the country, the president has difficulty accomplishing even the tasks he presumably cares about, like a foreign policy that works. So “doing reckless things” has not always been very effective for Obama. But, I gotta go with the “doing reckless things” option as the worse of the two right now. I think that going on vacation is the best thing that Obama can do today. Because this child that is the Ferguson riots was not born of talk, but in the hosing of America by Obama and the rest of his firemen. The riots are the violent fruits of the womb that are born when a country gets screwed—hard. And guess what? It only takes one time for the country to get a little bit pregnant. What’s being born of our times ultimately, however, no one can really tell as of yet. Yet this much is true though: Angry children tend to give birth to angry children, and the sins of the fathers are visited on the latest generation. “A nation like a woman is not forgiven the unguarded hour,” wrote Karl Marx, in one of the few true statements Marx got right, “in which the first rake that tries can take her by force.” Obama hasn’t gotten what he wanted by talking. He hasn’t gotten what he wanted by actions either, reckless or otherwise because he's too lazy. There always remains force however as an option of any government in crisis, especially a government too lazy to be legitimate. And make no mistake: This is a government deep in crisis and too lazy to be legitimate. So guard the hour my friends. And keep Obama on vacation. Let him screw his handicap and not the country.

Hillary's Biggest Whopper: "I am Not an Obama Clone"! ^ | August 15, 2014 | Donald Lambro
WASHINGTON - We haven't heard the last of Hillary Clinton's attempts to separate herself, and her expected presidential candidacy, from Barack Obama's policies. Her stinging put down of Obama's impotent foreign policies in Iraq and elsewhere were just the beginning of a carefully plotted campaign to persuade enough Americans that she's not an Obama clone.
From the beginning, the number one problem that faced her long-planned candidacy is that she would follow in the footsteps of a failed presidency. Indeed, she could already hear the Republicans' 2016 campaign cry: "If you liked the Obama administration, you'll love what Hillary wants to do."
Clinton's politically choreographed remarks earlier this week, in an interview with the Atlantic magazine, were but the first of many artful dodges to come.
Dredging up Obama's long-forgotten description of his strategic foreign policy as "Don't do stupid stuff," she shot it down with this well-executed attack line:
"Great nations need organizing principles, and 'Don't do stupid stuff' in not an organizing principle," she said.
Clinton, whose timid, vacuous, super cautious record as secretary of State was mediocre at best, disgraceful at its worst, is the last person to talk about organizing foreign policy principles.
She made a lot of speeches around the globe, and it is reported that she disagreed with Obama's escalated pull-out from Iraq and the way it was carried out. But she was loyal to his misguided policies, carried them out, and now is squirming over having to defend them.
Still, her record on foreign policy matters is not one that that demonstrates she's ready to make foreign policy as the nation's chief executive.
Let's start with the scandal in Benghazi, Libya, where the U.S. ambassador and and three other Americans were killed in the Consulate there in a full-scale terrorist attack. After a thorough investigation, the record shows her State Department ignored numerous pleas from the ambassador for added security there.
The larger scandal that followed was made worse when her State Department's initial response to the well-planned attack blamed it on a protest over an anti-Islam, YouTube video that, in its words, "got out of hand."
Months later, when Clinton was called to testify before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee about the deadly events, she delivered her "What difference does it make" line that will haunt her future presidential campaign.
When she was running for president against Obama in 2008, she went after his inexperience in a TV campaign ad about the White House crisis phone ringing in the middle of the night and who was there to answer it.
"There's a phone in the White House and it's ringing. Something is wrong in the world. Your vote will decide who answers that call. Whether someone knows the world's leaders, knows the military, someone tested and ready to lead. It's 3 a.m. Who do you want answering the phone?" the ad says.
But when U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens was calling on Hillary for added security in the face of growing terrorist threats, she didn't pick up the phone to help him.
She was too busy jet-setting around the world, chasing former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's record of logging more miles than any previous secretary of state.
But what did Clinton accomplish over the course of her empty-handed, four-year term in office? The Middle East is a fiery, blood-soaked battleground. Al-Qaeda terrorists and their spin-off armies are on the brink of seizing control of Iraq and Afghanistan, making inroads in Syria and across North Africa. Vladimir Putin has seized Ukraine's Crimean peninsula and threatens yet another military push into that war-torn country's eastern half.
Now, as Clinton continues her book promotion tour, she is attempting to divorce herself from that record, avoiding the key question of what did she do in the world of foreign relations to make the world a better place?
It is reported that she called Obama after the interview to apologize, but she isn't backtracking on her criticism of his strategic policy positions.
She was in Martha's Vineyard Wednesday -- where the president is on a two week vacation -- for a book signing at the Bunch of Grapes Bookstore and planned to attend a private party fundraiser there. When she was asked at the bookstore if she disagreed with Obama's handling of the crisis in Iraq, she merely replied, "I'm excited about signing books."
When asked about their relationship, she said, "We are committed to the values and the interests of the security of our country together. We have disagreements as any partners and friends, as we are, might very well have."
But those disagreements likely run far deeper that may be evident right now.
There are some here who say that Clinton has serious problems with Obama's economic policies. She has built strong political alliances on Wall Street and is said to think that major policy changes are needed to boost economic growth and job creation.
When she and Obama were running against each other in the party primaries, one of her key advisers told me she did not agree with Obama's call for raising taxes while the economy was still in a recession.
But it remains to be seen what her ultimate views are on a wide range of these and other domestic issues, and how they could impact on her candidacy in the remaining two plus years of Obama's presidency.
One thing is clear, however. No matter how much she tries to politically divorce herself from Obama's policies, her chances of winning the White House will be affected by them.
What if Obamacare collapses financially because it has not signed up enough younger, healthier people? Or an uneven economy and job market worsens in the months to come? Or the rise of global terrorism poses a much more lethal threat to the U.S.?
That's when Americans will rise up and say, we've had enough of the Democrats. It's time for a change.

Judge issues new order in IRS lawsuit

The Hill ^ | Aug 14, 2014 | Bernie Becker
A federal judge on Thursday pressed the IRS for additional information about former agency official Lois Lerner’s missing emails, suggesting he expected more from the agency’s filings earlier this week.Judge Emmet Sullivan of U.S. District Court in Washington is seeking answers on four different fronts, including what efforts the IRS made to recover Lerner’s lost emails from alternate sources like an iPhone or Blackberry.Sullivan gave the IRS just over a week, until Aug. 22, to supply those answers, as part of a lawsuit filed by a conservative watchdog, Judicial Watch, seeking Lerner’s emails through a freedom of information lawsuit. The judge had previously given the agency a month to respond to his previous order, which asked more general questions about how Lerner’s computer crashed in 2011.The agency says the hard drive crash left them unable to recover an untold number of Lerner’s emails over a two-year span. IRS technicians told Sullivan in their Monday filings that they were unable to recover data from Lerner’s hard drive and expressed no concerns the drive had been intentionally sabotaged. The IRS has previously said Lerner’s hard drive was destroyed and recycled, with its data permanently erased, after it was determined the drive couldn’t be repaired.Lerner has been a central figure from the start in the controversy over the IRS’s improper scrutiny of Tea Party groups seeking tax-exempt status. She led an IRS division overseeing tax-exempt groups, and was the first official to apologize for the agency’s treatment of Tea Party groups.Tom Fitton, Judicial Watch’s president, celebrated Sullivan’s new order, saying it proved the government had offered little in their filings on Monday.“Today’s order confirms Judicial Watch’s read of this week’s IRS’ filings that treated as a joke Judge Sullivan’s order,” Fitton said in a statement. In a statement to The Hill, Fitton later called Sullivan’s order “an incredible court intervention.”“Judicial Watch has filed hundreds of FOIA lawsuits,” Fitton said.” I have never seen this type of court action in all my 16 years at Judicial Watch.”A spokesman for the IRS didn’t respond to a request for comment. The agency has also responded in recent weeks to a separate lawsuit from another conservative group, True the Vote.In his order, Sullivan asked the IRS to provide more information on how the IRS uses bar codes to track computer equipment and whether bar codes are used for hard drives. The agency has said in filings for the True the Vote lawsuit that it only put bar codes on larger pieces of equipment, like laptops, but it retrieved the bar code for Lerner’s hard drive from an outside contractor. The judge also inquired about a process known as degaussing, a magnetic process that wipes information off of hard drives. The IRS has said that Lerner’s hard drive was wiped clean to protect taxpayer information, and Sullivan wants to know agency procedure for tracking that process. Finally, Sullivan asked the IRS to disclose what outside vendors can more fully brief the court on how the agency destroys hard drives.

The Andrew Cuomo scandal, explained (Compare with Rick Perry)

yahoo news ^ | 08/15/2014 | Andrew Prokop
After news of several corruption scandals involving members of New York's legislature, and the legislature's subsequent failure to pass an ethics reform bill, Cuomo announced in July 2013 that, along with the state's independently elected Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, he was establishing a 25-member commission to investigate corruption in government. The commission would be empowered to issue subpoenas, so long as its three co-chairs (two of which were appointed by Cuomo, and one by Schneiderman) all signed on. The governor's authority to establish such a commission was based on a law called the Moreland Act of 1907, so it became known as the Moreland Commission, though its official title was the Commission to Investigate Public Corruption. "I can't 'interfere' with [the commission], because it is mine. It is controlled by me"

Rob Reiner (meathead) Likens Tea Party to Hamas!

CNS News ^ | August 14, 2014 | Michael W. Chapman
Hollywood director and liberal activist Rob Reiner told talk-show host Larry King that the Tea Party is like the terrorist group Hamas, because apparently both groups are extreme and cannot be negotiated with, and the only solution is to make them go away or “eliminate” them. “[Y]ou can’t negotiate with that, you have to say either Hamas goes away and the Palestinian authority takes over all that region and deal with some kind of honest broker here, and create the two-state solution,” said Reiner. Drawing a parallel with the Tea Party, he said, “anytime you’re dealing with an extreme group, you cannot negotiate with them, and the way to do it is to eliminate it. With the Tea Party, you have to go through political thing, you have to wait till 2020 to redistrict, but that is really tough stuff.” (VIDEO-AT-LINK)On the Aug. 14 edition of Politicking with Larry King, the host asked Reiner, “What’s to do about the Gaza situation, and Israel?” Reiner said, “Well, there again, you’ve got a horrible situation where you have an extreme faction, the Hamas, that controls Gaza, that is written into their playbook, the destruction of Israel, the destruction of every Jew on the planet.” “You can’t negotiate with that,” he said, “you have to say either Hamas goes away and the Palestinian authority takes over all that region and deal with some kind of honest broker here, and create the two-state solution.” “The Palestinians turned down the ability to have their own state in 1948 when Israel was formed, so clearly, Hamas, and again, the virulent faction of a, really, uh, group can control everything,” said the Academy Award nominee. Reiner continued, “You look at the Congress right now in the United States, you’ve got a strong Tea Party group controlling the whole country, because they have a gridlock, they have a gridlock, stranglehold on Boehner. Boehner can’t make a move, and so for that reason, nothing gets brought up in the Congress.” “So anytime you’re dealing with an extreme group, you cannot negotiate with them, and they way to do it is to eliminate it,” said Reiner. “With the Tea Party, you have to go through a political thing, you have to wait till 2020 to redistrict, but, uh, that is really tough stuff.” The U.S. State Department designated Hamas a terrorist organization in 1997. The Tea Party stands for Taxed Enough Already and sprang up from the American grassroots in 2010 largely in opposition to Obamacare, and has broadened to include issues such limited government, fewer government regulations, and adherence to the Constitution. Reiner was nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award for the 1992 film, A Few Good Men. He gained national attention early on as an actor in All in the Family, and some of his more well-known movies include The Jerk, This is Spinal Tap, The Princess Bride, Sleepless in Seattle, The Bucket List, and The Wolf of Wall Street. Reiner is a liberal and has been very outspoken on his political views for many years.

Rick Perry, Texas Blues & The Liberal Two-Step

 by xuberalles
So let me get this straight; Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg – also the head of the Public INTEGRITY Unit – is convicted of aggravated DUI. When she refuses to resign for behavior unbecoming of her office – accountability is foreign to most liberals - Governor Rick Perry promises to veto the 7.5 million budgeted for the Integrity Unit. And for this, something presidents and governors practically do on a weekly basis, he is indicted on felony coercion charges by a heavily Democratic-laden, Austin grand jury? Oh, something definitely stinks in the Lone Star state and it’s called dirty politics. With just under three months to Election Day, liberals are desperate to install party nutjob extraordinaire, Wendy Davis, atop of the Texas pyramid. Why? One, progressives will do anything to paint Texas blue; albeit by gerrymandering, eliminating voter ID, removing the National Guard from the border, or outright amnesty. Two, Texas – with its low taxes and business friendly environment – stands as a beacon of liberty and economic prosperity; a success story that stands in direct contrast to Obama’s decaying welfare state. This entire fiasco is nothing but an obvious and petty ploy to taint Mr. Perry’s name and plant a seed of criminality in voters’ minds. Coercion isn’t holding a public servant accountable for behavior unbecoming of her elected office and appointed task force; coercion is putting a gun in someone’s back and forcing them into your car. Ms. Lehmberg had a choice and she chose wrong. Now the Governor is fully within his rights – like all of his fellow gubernatorial constituents – to withhold money from an office that does not comply with common sense standards. (Yes, Barack Obama threatens vetoes almost daily for the most inane reasons) Ultimately, I have no doubt the Governor will be cleared of these vindictive charges once he’s defended before an impartial jury, it’s just a sad indictment of our society that the duplicitous and divisive politics of Rosemary Lehmberg and Wendy Davis converge to unhinge one of the last strongholds of our American republic.

While Vets Died, VA Wasted $400 Million on Green Energy!

Front page ^ | August 15, 2014 | Daniel Greenfield
The insane ways that the VA focused on solar energy and wind towers over vets. Three years before Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki would be forced out of his job because of the veterans who had died under him, he visited the Massachusetts National Cemetery. He wasn’t there to see the men and women who had died because of him. While vets were dying, Obama and Shinseki had turned their attention to something truly important; seeing to it that all the cemeteries where they were being buried had wind or solar power. ... The cemetery turbine had cost $533,000. Veterans were dying to save the VA a few hundred dollars. Shinseki had made his order of priorities clear. Green energy boondoggles came first. Improving veteran care came last. Now there are some hard numbers on just how much money the VA wasted. The agency allotted $399 million of its stimulus funds solely to enhance its green energy portfolio, and more than 940 green energy projects were undertaken. $400 million would have bought a whole lot of medical care for vets, but medical care for vets was never the goal. Under Obama, every Federal agency ignores its duties and pursues the goals of the left.

Guess who was missing at funeral of highest ranking officer killed in combat since Vietnam War!

Legal Insurrection ^ | August 15, 2014 | William A. Jacobson
NBC News reports
U.S. Army Major General Harold Greene was buried today at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors, including a caisson, two escort platoons, casket team, firing party, colors team, and a caparisoned horse. The U.S. Army band, “Pershing’s Own,” played softly as the funeral procession made its way down the long hill past the rows of simple white gravestones to bring General Greene to his final resting place. The graveside service began with a few words, followed by a 13-gun salute. The major general’s widow, Dr. Susan Myers, was seated in the front row. To her right was their son 1st Lt. Matthew Greene, his daughter Amelia Greene, followed by Major General Greene’s father, also Harold Greene. After three rifle volleys and the playing of “Taps,” the American flag, once placed on the major general’s casket, was carefully folded as the band played “America the Beautiful.” U.S. Army Chief of Staff Gen. Ray Odierno presented the flag to his widow, and additional flags to his children and father. General Greene, 55, became the highest-ranking fatality in the war in Afghanistan after an Afghan military police officer opened fire on Aug. 5th, 2014.
