The Insurance-Salesman-In-Chief Makes His Numbers But Millions More Are Harmed

Forbes ^ | 04/04/2014 | Grace-Marie Turner,
President Obama is bragging that the administration has surpassed its target of 7 million people enrolled in the ObamaCare exchanges, but he isn’t talking about the millions of people who are being harmed so the insurance-salesman-in-chief could make his numbers. Millions of people have been driven into the ObamaCare exchanges and out of private coverage they liked. Most are facing higher premiums, higher co-payments, and sky-high deductibles. And Americans are footing the bill for the $2.6 trillion law that was supposed to get us to near-universal coverage and make health care more affordable but which will do neither. We learned yesterday that even the three television networks couldn’t tolerate the president’s dance in the end zone, denying a request that they air a victory speech in prime time. Since at least six million people lost their individual private plans – and the doctors and hospitals they liked – because of ObamaCare, the enrollment numbers are nothing to boast about. ~snip~ But, as we now know, as many as two-thirds of those buying coverage in the exchanges were driven out of their private plans because they didn’t comply with the mountain of ObamaCare mandates. Only about one-third of those enrolling in the exchanges were previously uninsured, based upon a yet-unpublished but reported study by the RAND Corporation. An estimated 86% of those enrolled in the exchanges who previously had insurance have paid their premiums. But the story is different for the remainder of enrollees who had been uninsured. Only about half of them are expected to pay their premium and therefore will be officially enrolled.

Smart Seniors

Two young businessmen in Florida were sitting down for a break in their soon-to-be new store in the shopping mall. As yet,the store's merchandise wasn't in -- only a few shelves and display racks set up.

One said to the other, "I'll bet that any minute now some senior is going to walk by, put his face to the window, and ask what we're selling."

Sure enough, just a moment later, a curious senior gentleman walked up to the window, looked around intensely and rapped on the glass, then in a loud voice asked, "What are you selling here?"
One of the men replied sarcastically, "We're selling assholes."

Without skipping a beat, the old timer said, "You must be doing well. Only two left."

Seniors don't get old by being stupid.

Cruz Slams Obama for 'Dancing in the End Zone' on Obamacare

Breitbart ^ | 3 Apr 2014 | Tony Lee
On Wednesday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) blasted President Barack Obama for "dancing in the end zone" when the President essentially declared that Obamacare was well on its way to accomplishing its mission, even though the law has raised premiums and left millions of Americans in a perpetual state of chaos regarding their health care. Cruz, along with Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), led the effort to defund Obamacare last year and extend the waivers that special interests received from the law to all Americans. And he insisted on Wednesday that every word of Obamacare needs to be repealed. "President Obama is dancing in the end zone while millions of Americans are still hurting from Obamacare. He has moved the goal posts so many times -- why should the American people believe him this time?" Cruz wrote on his Facebook page. "Obamacare wasn't working last year and it's not working now. We need a #?FullRepeal of every word of it."Obama declared on Tuesday that the debate over Obamacare was "over" and there was "no good reason to go back."

Cavuto: Obamacare Actual New Enrollees = 1.2 Million! ^ | April 3, 2014 | BMartin1776
Cavuto says he is being generous with the 1.2 mil he is crediting the regime of having enrolled in barackobamacare. If you ask me it sounds like the regime is using its own form of math via Common Core to come up with the 7.1 million sign ups they have been bragging about. There is still an estimated 45 mil people without insurance where are they? This crap law was to provide insurance to those 45+ mil at the cost of the millions who had insurance policies they were happy with!
This is what progressives do though they destroy something to replace it with something they claim is better for political gain. No doubt this law was written to be a disaster to open the door for single payer because there’s no way with all the intricacies of obamacare they didnt know and just threw this law together. 2200 pages of power and control that would drive people mad begging for a simpler solution. That will happen when the delays finally expire, the chaos ensues under a GOP dominant Congress who will be blamed for the mess. The door is open for to 1) throw out the GOP b/c “its their fault” that the demoncrats will campaign on saying they have the solution. People won’t care because they will be too mad elect the destroyers into power once again and well you know how the rest will play out. Progressives are patient communists this plan of theirs has been in the works for years and the stupid GOP is falling for it… AGAIN!

The dirty little secret behind today's employment report!

Yahoo ^ | APRIL 4, 2014 | Jeff Macke
There's a dirty little secret buried in the monthly employment data. It's a secret so dark, so exquisitely threatening to the financial media industry that those who reveal it risk being expunged from the community like magicians revealing their tricks. The National Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that 192,000 jobs were added to the economy in March. The unemployment rate stayed flat at 6.7%. The participation rate rose to 63.2%. Now the dirty secret: none of that actually matters very much. 1.The number itself is simply impossible to measure with any accuracy ... 2.The unemployment rate is irrelevant. ... 3.No one knows what the “participation rate” should be. .. Disturbing as it is to consider, 60% could be the new normal.

Obamacare Shows America Suffers From A President Dangerously Disconnected From Reality!

Forbes ^ | April 4, 2014 | Peter Ferrara Contributor
The population of the U.S. is 314 million. On the day Obamacare was passed, the estimate of the uninsured was 60 million. So in this context, the supposed 7 million Americans signed up for insurance on the Obamacare Exchanges, even if that is a valid number, and all of those have actually started paying premiums, both of which are highly dubious, does not mean any significant success for Obamacare. That is especially so since at least 6 million Americans have lost their health insurance due to Obamacare, so far, with more to come once the illegally and arbitrarily delayed employer mandate becomes effective, if it is ever allowed to do so. The estimate based on a new Rand Corporation study is that only 858,000 Americans signed up on the Obamacare Exchanges were previously uninsured. That is barely a dent of just over 1% in the original number of uninsured, from the historic Obamacare program that was supposed to provide “universal” coverage. Yes, there are other sources of coverage under Obamacare. President Obama told us in his celebratory, hocus pocus, Obamacare address on April Fools’ Day that “more than 3 million young adults have gained insurance under this law by staying on their family’s plan.” But that number is a publicly documented fabrication...

A CATASTROPHE LIKE NO OTHER (WH spin shows a calculated Obama)

Support it or not, you cannot look at ObamaCare and call it anything but a huge, historic mess....utterly unique in the annals of American lawmaking and govt administration.....then-Democratic speaker Pelosi blithely, mindlessly said---but in a way forthcomingly—that we have to pass it to find out what's in it. .... an historic admission that she was fighting hard for something she herself didn't understand, but she had every confidence regulators and bureaucratic interpreters would tell her in time what she'd done. ....for the next three years Democrats would carry on like blithering idiots making believe they'd read the bill and understood its implications. They were later taken aback by complaints from their constituents. The White House seems to have understood, and lied to Americans in a way so specific, it showed they knew exactly what to spin and how. "If you like your health-care plan, you can keep your health-care plan, period." Your existing policy had to pass muster.....they'd fight to the death to ensure that 60-year-old women have pediatric dental coverage. ....the president's approach on Tuesday, when he announced the purported 7.1 million enrollees. "The debate over repealing this law is over. The Affordable Care Act is here to stay. . . . was political showbiz of a particular sort, asking whether the picture given of a thing will counter the experience of the thing.

Obama Tackled in the End Zone ^ | April 4, 2014 | David Limbaugh
It's one thing to spike the football when you actually score a touchdown, but why is Obama celebrating in the end zone when he just got tackled for a safety? What on earth is this man boasting about? Boasting is obnoxious enough when the braggart in question has accomplished something, but how many people do you know who brag when they've hurt millions? Under the goal posts in the Rose Garden, Obama said: Obamacare "is doing what it's supposed to do; it's working. ... The debate over repealing this law is over; the Affordable Care Act is here to stay. ... I've got to admit, I don't get it. Why are folks working so hard for people not to have health insurance? Why are they so mad about the idea of folks having health insurance?" This is outrageous, even for him. If Obamacare is doing what it's supposed to do, then it was supposed to create chaos in the health care industry, increase our premiums, cause people to lose their doctors, reduce the quality of care and cost the government unconscionable sums of money. Is that what Obama means by "it's working"? Is this what he envisioned that Obamacare would do? If not, then why is he all puffed up? Why aren't Democrats sharing in his triumphant bliss? Why is he attacking those who are rightly criticizing this policy? Obama looked us in the eye and said 7.1 million people have signed up for Obamacare, which is apparently close to the projected number of enrollees necessary to fund this boondoggle. But for that number to work -- even if you assume it is legitimate -- it has to be a net number. What Obama didn't tell us is that this figure, in the abstract, means nothing. By throwing out 7.1 million as if it means the administration has met its goal, he is deliberately and brazenly deceiving the American people, because he knows it has not come close. The fact that he would take no questions on this matter is proof that he has something to hide. It's as if Obama and his advisers were sitting around the table -- or the putting green -- and he told them, "Hey, we've almost reached the magic number of sign-ups." One of his advisers might have said, "Yes, but we're miles away from our goal." And Obama might have said: "Who cares? This is enough for a sound bite. This is enough for a press conference. This is enough to dupe the American people. Don't question me. Schedule that press conference. I'm the president." In order for Obamacare to work, it needed some 7 million net new enrollees, at least 38 percent of whom would be young and healthy enough to subsidize the others, according to liberal projections. But what did he get? Well, he allegedly got 7.1 million enrollees on paper, but let's look at the myriad ways that number is reduced. National Journal reports that an estimated 15 to 20 percent of these enrollees haven't paid their premiums, which means they won't be covered. So right off the bat, you have to reduce the number to between 5.7 million and 6 million, which means the figures already won't work. Instead of 38 percent of these enrollees being in the young and healthy category, Michael Tanner of the Cato Institute reports that less than 30 percent of enrollees are younger than 35. Also, RAND Corp. estimates that only about one-third of the new enrollees were previously uninsured, which means that two-thirds of the 5.7 million or 6 million cannot properly be counted in these figures. So we have fewer than 2 million net new enrollees. But we're still not finished. In addition to this, RAND estimates that nearly a million more people lost their plan because of Obamacare and couldn't afford to replace it because Obamacare mandates coverage of additional risks and causes premiums to increase. Does that mean we are actually down to about 1 million net new enrollees? Not to destroy your day further, but on top of all this, Obamacare is projected to cost the government -- meaning taxpayers -- $2 trillion over the next decade, which isn't even being factored in here. And how many believe that number isn't grossly underestimated? Also, Obamacare is going to cause cuts to Medicare Advantage, which will reduce benefits or increase premiums for people by an estimated $35 to $75 per month. As you can see, Obama is giving you only a fraction of the information you need to understand this picture and imparting the false impression that Obamacare is working now, and when premiums skyrocket next year, he can scapegoat the insurance companies and proceed to his beloved single-payer, full-blown statist scenario. Obama must be still counting on the fact that he can fool enough of the people enough of the time -- Election Day every two years -- to continue his sinister plan to fundamentally transform this nation. The polls are screaming that he's finally run out of juice. Pray it is so.
