Wendy Davis Omits Mention of Abortion from Campaign Website

Andrew Johnson

She may owe her national stardom to her eleven-hour filibuster of a bill that bans abortions after 20 weeks, but now that she’s running for governor, Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis is shying away from any mention of abortion on her campaign website.

Her website does make mention of a filibuster — one that took place back in 2011, when she protested a budged that cut school funding.

Davis also fails to list abortion or women’s rights on her “issues” page. Her platforms are education, strong economy, government accountability, and veterans.

In recent weeks, Davis, a Texas state senator, has been plagued with accusations that she has misled the public about certain details in her compelling life story.
