Million-Muslim March on 9/11 anniversary planned in DC

RT ^ | 08/16/2013 | RT

On the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, the American Muslim Political Action Committee will host a gathering of one million people in Washington, DC, denouncing “FBI traps” and urging the government to reveal “the truth” about 9/11.
With an event initially coined the “Million Muslim March” and later changed to the “Million American March Against Fear,” the committee hopes to generate awareness about civil rights violations that Muslims have endured after the September 11 attacks that occurred nearly 12 years ago.
Protesters will condemn “FBI traps” and the “illegal tapping and surveilling of Muslim Americans,” as well as “media propaganda making the word terrorist synonymous with Muslim,” Isa Hodge, organizer of the march, told US News & World Report last month.
“Our government either sits idly by and does nothing to protect our freedoms or it exacerbates the problem with its constant war on terrorism in Islamic countries, congressional hearings on Islam in America, and its changes to the [National Defense Authorization Act],” he said in a press release, in which he notes that Muslims have faced constant oppression and discrimination over the past decade.
Protesters will also urge the government to reveal “the truth” about 9/11, which Hodge claims has been partially covered up by the US government.
“We want to hold President Obama accountable for his empty promises of creating a transparent government” Hodge said. “What exactly have we spent all our money, lost lives and taken lives for? The entire record of the 9/11 Commission [Report] has never been released.”

Cherry-Picking 'Racist' Outrage in America

GOP USA ^ | 8/14/2013 | Bobby Eberle

There's nothing that seems to get a liberal more fired up than acts of racism in America. They will go on television or radio or the Internet and bemoan the state of American society. But as we can clearly see from recent examples, not all racists are created equal, and only certain incidents are worthy of their time. If a white kid is beaten up by a black kid (or kids), you can bet you won't hear a single word of outrage from the left.
So, what exactly does it take to get the left fired up? When Trayvon Martin attacked George Zimmerman and started beating his head into the ground, that was no big deal. But when Zimmerman shot Martin in self defense, then it suddenly became a hate crime. Zimmerman was branded a racist and put on trial in the media before he ever saw a single day in court.
Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Barack Obama, and just about every single so-called "civil rights" leader were claiming that there needed to be "justice for Trayvon."
Next, let's look at the beating that occurred in Florida recently. A 13-year-old white student was on a school bus when three older black students beat him severely. According to reports, the boy was left with two black eyes and a broken arm. And yet, despite this massive violence, there's not one word out of America's civil rights "leaders."
Now, the facts of that incident indicate that one of the black boys tried to sell drugs to the white boy, who then reported the encounter to school officials. The black kids then went on the school bus to get their revenge.
The beating does not appear to be racially motivated at all, but that's not really the point, is it? If three white kids beat a black boy on a school bus, the entire contingent of left-wing spokespeople would be out in force demanding "justice" for the boy. None of the "facts" would matter at all.
Then, there is the story of Raymond Widstrand, a white man who was simply out for a walk in St. Paul, Minnesota when he was beaten to near death by a group of black men. Again... no outrage at all.
Where are the calls by Obama for a "racial dialogue?" Where are Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton? Are they actual civil rights leaders or just black rights leaders? We all know the answer to that question: It's NEITHER. These men don't care about the rights of the average black man. They simply see incidents like the Trayvon Martin case as opportunities... opportunities for them to get in front of a microphone and remind America that they are famous and they have something to say. It's pathetic.
Finally, we have the "case of the clown." I'm talking about the rodeo clown in Missouri who has now been banned for life. What did he do that was so wrong? What did he do to warrant such a harsh punishment? He dressed up with a Barack Obama mask!
Rodeo clowns are all about entertainment. Just like comedians, their job is to make the audience laugh. Comedians all across the country make fun of the president of the United States. It goes with the territory. But, I guess if you put on a Barack Obama mask, you are suddenly a racist... at least according to the left.
It's time for all this to stop. If Jackson, Obama, Sharpton, and others are truly concerned with racial equality in America, then they need to stop giving black America a pass regarding violence. Basically, what these people are saying is that it's ok for blacks to commit crimes against whites. According to them, it's not racially motivated it's just a byproduct of their history in America. That's just a bunch of bull!
The longer we give ANY group an excuse for their violence, the more the violence will continue.

Russell Simmons, Rape Video Clown

Townhall.com ^ | August 16, 2013 | Michelle Malkin

Oh, what a tangled web libs weave when first they practice to aggrieve!
Let's review: Democrats and civil rights leaders are busy conducting a ridiculous witch hunt against a harmless Missouri rodeo clown who dared to wear an Obama mask. Oprah played the race card on a Swiss shop owner, whom she dubiously accused of denying her a look at a $35,000 handbag because she is black. P.C. mau-mau-ers steamrolled Paula Deen over three-decade-old comments. And feminists continue smearing Republicans as "War on Women" misogynists, while enabling Democratic perv predators Bob Filner and Anthony Weiner for years.
Now, along comes left-wing rap mogul Russell Simmons this week promoting a racially shocking, rape-mocking YouTube video depicting a Harriet Tubman "sex tape" with her white slave master. Tweeted Simmons late Wednesday night: "Funniest thing I've ever seen." The Obama pal and outspoken liberal linked to the vulgar video on his "All Def Digital" YouTube channel.
He's "Def" all right. Tone Def as a doorknob. Social media users of all races and political backgrounds immediately rose to condemn the pornographic skit degrading an American heroine.
Adrienne Gravish wrote: "I am livid and disgusted. I actually feel like (vomiting). Utter disrespect of Harriet Tubman's legacy and what she fought for." Roland Martin wondered: "Do ya even understand the degradation of Black women during slavery? They were RAPED!" Zerlina Maxwell pushed back against Simmons' "sex tape" spin: "Dear Everyone: It's not a sex video. Stop putting "sex" in your headlines about Harriet Tubman. #rapetape"
Britni Danielle of clutchmagonline.com summed it up: "Casting an obese Harriet Tubman to play into of the negative stereotypes about Black women's bodies? Check. Portraying Black women as Jezebels who use sex to get what they want? Check... This video is not only completely unfunny, but it's a slap in the face to Harriet Tubman, as well as the millions of enslaved African Americans who suffered through the unspeakable horrors of slavery."
But instead of calling for public boycotts, protests and Justice Department investigations, the NAACP grievance-mongers helped Simmons out by privately advising him to take down the video. The tolerance mob's crusaders against rodeo clowns couldn't let a rape video clown knock them off message!
Simmons obliged Thursday morning with a non-apology apology on his media website, GlobalGrind.com (better known for posting naked photos of Rihanna and Lindsay Lohan). He audaciously invoked his liberal immunity card: "When my buddies from the NAACP called and asked me to take down the Harriet Tubman video from the All Def Digital YouTube channel and apologize, I agreed. I'm a very liberal person with thick skin. ... I can now understand why so many people are upset. I have taken down the video. Lastly, I would never condone violence against women in any form, and for all of those I offended, I am sincerely sorry."
Never condoned violence against women in any form? Longtime observers of Simmons' rise to entertainment-industry power beg to differ. He built his profanity-laced rap empire on sexual degradation, misogyny and violence. Called out by a small number of black feminists, spirituality expert Simmons whined during a promotional interview: "I had a book tour about peace and love, and everyone wants to talk about b*tches and hos."
Sincere? On Twitter, his tone was decidedly snarkier: "I guess I have a sensitivity chip missing. Lol. Haven't been in trouble since defjam. Sorry if people r hurt :-("
Simmons has lectured me personally about civil discourse and has shown his misogynist colors. When I called him out during his gun-control jeremiads last year for lying about not using bodyguards, he accused me of being a "stalker" and tweeted: "U are so cute, like a lil kitten :-) why so angry?"
When my website Twitchy.com supported parents who teach their daughters to shoot and published photos of their trips to the gun range, Simmons deemed it "shocking" and insinuated that parents like me who school our girls in self-defense are irresponsible.
Simmons pontificated: "this morning i meditated with my beautiful daughters. shocking that these parents let their kids do this..."
What, pray tell, will this holier-than-thou hypocrite tell his daughters to explain away his shocking, opportunistic Harriet Tubman porn flick? It's all about the Benjamins, baby. "Lol."

GOP Must Shed Establishment Defeatism

Townhall.com ^ | August 16, 2013 | David Limbaugh

What are establishment Republicans so afraid of? Why are they so convinced that if they stand up to Obama -- even on issues the public agrees with them on -- they will be spanked at the ballot box?

Playing it safe sure has paid big dividends, huh? Every time we've had a fight over a budget ceiling or a continuing resolution, the establishment has told us we must not allow the government to shut down because Republicans would be blamed for it. The actual facts of the particular situation don't matter -- even if the Republicans' position is justified, defensible or over an issue that aligns them with the electorate. The establishment has decreed that we couldn't possibly, ever, come out on top in such a battle.
It's been a self-fulfilling prophecy. How can we prevail when we've announced in advance that we can't? How can we conceivably win over the public when we concede defeat before the battle begins?
Why is it automatically assumed that in every such impasse, Republicans will be blamed instead of Obama? Is it not true that his profligate spending is unpopular with the majority? That Obamacare consistently polls poorly? That the economy remains stagnant?
"We have to keep our eye on the big ball," they would say. "The 2012 elections are everything, and we'll lose if we always appear as the party of 'no.'"
Well, last time I checked, we got our clocks cleaned in 2012 after following this timid blueprint. Mitt Romney had Obama on the ropes in the first debate and refused to go in for the kill on Benghazi and other issues. He may as well have tendered his forfeiture right then and there.
Contrary to establishment "wisdom," Republicans win elections when they contrast themselves with Democrats, not emulate them. You can't inspire voters if you don't offer them a different, superior vision.
Recently, unnamed GOP strategists warned that unless Republicans quit going negative on Obama, they'll go down in flames in 2014 and possibly even lose their congressional majority. We cannot take the House for granted, they say.
In the first place, any political strategist who says Republicans can ever take any race for granted, given the liberal national media and the Democrats' proficiency at propaganda, ought to be fired. We must always run as though everything is on the line and assume nothing.
But how about this theory that criticizing Obama is toxic and politically suicidal? How do people impregnated with such defeatism gravitate toward a profession that is all about winning? Do Democrats ever hold back their criticism of Republicans? Are they ever shy about lambasting Republicans as extremists and evil?
What makes our Beltway guys think they can compete with gloves on when the other side not only sheds the gloves but carries knives and guns? This is madness. This is maddening.
Moreover, to say that Republicans must decide whether to criticize Obama or to present an alternative agenda is giving a false choice. You can't separate the two. We can't possibly make the case for our own agenda unless we focus the high beams on the utter failures of Obama's policies, his lawlessness, his divisiveness and his virtual despotism.
What's the point of presenting an alternative to Obamacare, for example, if we don't spell out to the public just how horrendous this law is? What's the point of offering a pro-market, pro-growth agenda if we don't point out how terrible Obama's economy is and then tie Obama and his policies to it?
With all due respect to those who say the public is already aware of Obama's failures, where are you getting your information? He continues to have respectable approval numbers even though the public is largely opposed to his agenda. Our feckless, uncommunicative, unmotivated side hasn't made the case against him.
Nor is making a strong case against Obama's record "dirty campaigning." How silly. We have a duty to showcase his failures -- unless we don't really believe he or his policies are the culprit. But if anyone is so deceived, it's time for him to come out of the closet and go to the other side, where he belongs.
I read recently about how House Speaker John Boehner declined to state his position on immigration, saying he views himself as "a facilitator." Are you kidding me? He is supposed to be the GOP leader, not a mediator. National politics is an adversarial process, especially these days, and if our side holds back while the other side pushes the pedal to the floorboard, we'll get run over.
Come on, guys, take off your pocket protectors and put on your fighting gear. Quit spending all your time calculating, strategizing, number crunching and hand-wringing. Let's just start doing the right thing -- standing for the right things, communicating our message and calling Obama out without pulling punches -- and inspire voters to vote for us. Our prescriptions work, so let's quit acting ashamed of them.

More than four cups of coffee a day puts you at risk of early death, claim experts!

Daily Mail (UK) ^ | 19:27 EST, 15 August 2013 | Jenny Hope

If you’re already holding your first coffee of the morning, you might want to put it down, because drinking four cups a day could raise your risk of dying young, researchers warn—but only if you’re under 55. They found that consuming 28 cups of coffee a week increases the chances of premature death in younger people by half. …

The risk of death from all causes rose by 56 percent for men and women younger than 55 who drank more than 28 cups of coffee a week, said a report in the journal Mayo Clinic Proceedings. …

Recent research has shown that coffee is a major dietary source of antioxidant, and it may reduce inflammation and boost brain function. At the same time, coffee stimulates the release of adrenaline, inhibits insulin activity, increases blood pressure, and raises levels of homocysteine, a harmful chemical linked to heart disease and dementia. …
