Idiot HOLDER OPENS ZIMMERMAN SNITCH LINE – Solicits Email Tips in Persecution of Trayvon Shooter

Gateway Pundit ^ | 7-17-2013 | Jim Hoft

The Obama Administration has opened a snitch line and is soliciting tips in its ongoing persecution of the Zimmmerman family. That email address, which is now in operation, is The Orlando Sentinel reported:

The U.S. Department of Justice on Monday afternoon appealed to civil rights groups and community leaders, nationally and in Sanford, for help investigating whether a federal criminal case might be brought against George Zimmerman for the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, one advocate said. The DOJ has also set up a public email address to take in tips on its civil rights investigation.
Barbara Arnwine, president and executive director the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law – who earlier in the day joined calls for federal civil rights charges against Zimmerman, said that later in the afternoon, she joined a U.S. Department of Justice conference call to discuss the prospects.
“They were calling on us to actively refer anyone who had any information,” that might build a case against Zimmerman for either a civil rights violation or a hate crime, Arnwine said. “They said they would very aggressively investigate this case.”
Arnwine said the call was convened at about 3:30 p.m. by Tom Perez, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice, and included representatives from the FBI, and several federal prosecutors, she said. DOJ officials also said they would open a public email address so people could send in tips on the case.
George Zimmerman is a Democrat. He voted for Obama and tutored young black kids.

Why not Jorge Zim-Hombre? MSM Racism shows itself

More Hispanic name of George Zimmerman | July 17, 2013 | Vanity

The word for man in Spanish is Hombre. So, for the sake of argument, let's say that George Zimmerman's name was instead Jorge Zim-Hombre.
If this would have been George Zimmerman's name, imagine how the media might have handled this story.
The media would have been more sensitive to the Hispanic side of this controversy.
They would have realized they were starting race wars between African-Americans and Hispanics.
But CNN-NBC-MSNBC-CBS-ABC-WashingtonPost-LATimes-NYTimes have not trouble starting Race Wars between Whites and Blacks in America over this case.
FoxNews did a good job of presenting important facts to show both sides of this story (which most of the rest of the MSM failed to do).
Note that Jorge is the Spanish Word for George (pronounced hor-heh, I believe).

Americans Own Nearly Half of the Privately Owned Guns on Earth

National Journal ^ | 07/17/2013 | Matt Berman

In 1994, the United States was home to about 200 million privately owned guns. Today, that number has ballooned to between 270 million and 300 million. That's almost half of all privately owned guns worldwide, according to a new essay from the Brookings Institution.
The essay, titled The Promise by Matt Bennett, looks back at the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings and the way ahead for gun control. The piece breaks down some other big numbers surrounding the battle for more gun regulation: More than 10 firearm deaths per 100,000 Americans every year; 600 annual accidental shootings; 11,400 murders; about 31,000 total gun deaths. The most common age of people who commit gun crimes is 19, then 20, then 18. That's despite regulations that bar licensed dealers from selling handguns to anyone under the age of 21. Almost 100 million adults live in a home with a gun.
Bennett ties these numbers back to last year's tragedy in Newtown, Conn.:
Still in the arena as well are the families of Sandy Hook. Despite the glare of a spotlight that has forced them to repeatedly relive their darkest hour and subjected them to a stunning level of personal vitriol, they continue to come to Washington, meet with senators and talk to the press. They accepted early on that this was a long road—that a 20-year gridlock on gun policy was not likely to change in an instant.

The motto of Sandy Hook Promise is: "Our hearts our broken; Our spirit is not." And the extraordinary generosity of spirit that these brave people bring to this nasty, brutish political debate could, in the end, make all the difference.

Negros benefit from Florida ‘Stand Your Ground’ law at disproportionate rate!

The Daily Caller ^ | 7/16/13 | Patrick Howley

African Americans benefit from Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” self-defense law at a rate far out of proportion to their presence in the state’s population, despite an assertion by Attorney General Eric Holder that repealing “Stand Your Ground” would help African Americans.

Negro Floridians have made about a third of the state’s total “Stand Your Ground” claims in homicide cases, a rate nearly double the black percentage of Florida’s population. The majority of those claims have been successful, a success rate that exceeds that for Florida whites.

Nonetheless, prominent African Americans including Holder and “Ebony and Ivory” singer Stevie Wonder, who has vowed not to perform in the Sunshine State until the law is revoked, have made “Stand Your Ground” a central part of the Trayvon Martin controversy.

RINO McCain Orchestrates Another GOP Surrender ^ | 7-17-2013 | Mike Flynn

Sen. John McCain spent the weekend negotiating with Majority Leader Harry Reid on a deal to avert Reid's threatened use of the "nuclear option" to change Senate rules to eliminate filibusters on Presidential nominations. Through his efforts, McCain was able to secure a complete GOP capitulation on 7 pending nominations. Reid secured all the benefits of exercising the "nuclear option" without the political cost of actually using it.
Under the McCain deal, the GOP will provide enough votes to secure the 60 votes needed for cloture and proceed to final consideration of the 7 nominees. In exchange, Reid agreed to replace two current union attorney nominees with two alternative union attorney nominees. McCain's swift surrender ensures that the "nuclear option" is a permanent fixture of the nomination process.
McCain, however, helped the Democrats avoid a risky political vote. He also ensured that he is on Harry Reid's speed-dial the next time the GOP raises objections to an Obama nomination.

We need more Republicans like North Carolina’s Republicans who “just don’t get it”

Coach is Right ^ | 7/17/13 | Derrick Hollenbeck

Don’t those North Carolina Republicans know they should be catering to minorities who have never voted for them and never will vote for them? Don’t they know they should be telling their majority voters – those who elected them–to go to hell? Don’t they know this is what Uncle Democrat and his pet media want them to do to win the White House back?

Thankfully they do not; according to a whiney New York Times editorial. Last week, in a piece titled “The Decline of North Carolina,” the “Paper of Record” cried over how the Tar Heel State has rolled back the clock and dumped some of the “jewels of progressivism” bestowed upon North Carolina by Democrats.

IRS officials in Washington ordered special scrutiny: congressional investigation

The Washington Times ^ | July 17, 2013 | Stephen Dinan

Top House committee chairmen said Wednesday that they have learned that the IRS sent some tea party groups’ applications for tax-exempt status through special scrutiny at the direction of agency officials in Washington, in a revelation that appears to confirm political targeting.
The committee chairmen released partial excerpts of interviews with IRS employees that show they were prepared to rule on some of the tea party groups’ applications, but Lois Lerner, an official at the root of the investigation, overruled them and instead created the complex and intrusive inquiries that have become the center of a Washington scandal.
Carter Hull, a tax law specialist with 48 years of experience at the IRS, said he was told to send some of the applications to the IRS‘ chief counsel’s office. The chief counsel is one of two political appointees in the IRS.
Mr. Hull told congressional investigators the IRS was trying to grapple with how to respond to the Supreme Court’s ruling in the Citizens United case, which left the door open for interest groups to play a bigger role in political activities.
Part of the IRS‘ answer was to single out some tea-party-affiliated groups’ applications as test cases.
Some of those test cases still haven’t been decided, three years after they were filed, Mr. Hull said.
“That’s a very long time period,” he told investigators.

Searching for what's still made in the USA

CNN ^

Josh Miller never gave much thought to where his car, bed or toothpaste came from until an aluminum plant in his hometown of Ravenswood, West Virginia, shut down about four years ago.

The closure left 650 people without a job, including Miller's father-in-law, in a town of roughly 3,800, triggering a familiar pattern. The unemployment rate in Jackson County more than doubled, businesses shuttered and Ravenswood's quaint downtown became a ghost town.

Blacks, Hispanics, Youth abandoning Obama ^ | JULY 15, 2013 | bY PAUL BEDARD

Feeling let down by a president they once had high expectations for, blacks, Hispanics and younger voters are starting to give up on President Obama.
Pollster John Zogby told Secrets that his latest poll found a big drop in support for the president among the three key constituencies who feel that Obama hasn't delivered the results he promised in his reelection campaign. "These three groups all have high expectations and feel a sense of ownership because of their strong support," the pollster said. "He is losing some of the strength he once enjoyed among groups that have formed the nucleus of his coalition."
Consider the results from the latest Zogby Analytics poll of 919 likely voters taken July 12-13. While Obama won 61 percent of the youth vote in 2012, only 46 percent approve of his job as president. He won with 71 percent of Hispanics and 93 percent of African Americans, but now stands at 68 percent and 84 percent respectively.
Zogby said that Hispanics are nervous about immigration reform and want the president to do more to make good on his promise to grant amnesty to 11 million illegal immigrants. "While the White House and fellow Democrats prefer the president lay back and not rev up opposition by campaigning, Hispanics want him out there," said Zogby.
For blacks, said the pollster, "they thought he would be able to do so much more."
And younger voters are feeling the pain of higher interest rates on college loans and don't like the National Security Agency spying scandal. "For young people, the failure to stop the rise of student loan rates and the NSA revelations weigh in heavily," said Zogby.
Despite the drop in support among key groups, Zogby said that the president still holds "considerable juice," and stands in the latest poll at an evenly split 49 percent approval-49 percent disapproval.

Trayvon Martin: A Child, or a Thug Wannabe?

The New American ^ | 15 July 2013 | Jack Kerwick, Ph.D.

It is Trayvon Martin, no one else, who has put the lie to the notion that he was some innocent child.

Trayvon Martin: A Child, or a Thug Wannabe?

The New American
15 July 2013

George Zimmerman has been acquitted in the shooting death of "the child," the "young boy," Trayvon Martin.

As should go without saying, it is of course a tragedy that our world is such that it regularly claims human life. It is particularly tragic when young people, like Martin, lose their lives in circumstances that could have so easily been avoided.

But Martin was no "child." He was not yet a legal adult, but at 17 years of age he could, with a parent’s permission, kill and die for the United States military. And 17-year-olds, particularly when they are six feet tall, intoxicated on drugs, and physically fit, as was Martin, can and do kill and die in the streets of America.

Yet it isn't just Zimmerman's persecutors who are fond of sanitizing Martin's character.

Writing for Front Page magazine, Arnold Ahlert castigates his fellow conservatives for acting badly.

In "Framing Trayvon," Ahlert contends that "many conservatives" have engaged in a "demonization campaign" against Martin -- or "Trayvon," as Ahlert calls him -- that runs "parallel" to that promoted against Zimmerman by such "racial arsonists" as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Conservatives "have hastily embraced caricatures of Trayvon Martin, painting him as a vicious street thug who deserved his fate."

Ahlert insists that Martin sounded like "little more than a rambunctious teenager" whose family and friends describe as "a fine young man," "warm and funny," and "a standout athlete with an enormous appetite."

Where do we begin?

First, Ahlert is correct that, from day one, the “racial arsonists” did indeed rush to demonize Zimmerman. Yet he fails to so much as hint at the fact that the demonization of Zimmerman demanded the idealization of Martin. By now, everyone who’s paid any attention to this case is all too familiar with the media’s tireless juxtaposition of Zimmerman’s mug shots alongside the outdated pictures of a prepubescent Martin.

Had Ahlert mentioned this, it would immediately become clear that it isn’t “conservatives,” but Martin who supplied us with a negative caricature of Martin. More accurately, as details emerged since February of 2012, time has exploded the idyllic caricature of Martin that the “anti-racists” have labored to embed in the popular imagination. The Martin who had that fateful encounter with Zimmerman was a far cry from the sixth-grader whose photograph was plastered all over the media for months after the shooting. As Ahlert himself admits, at the time of his death, Martin “used foul language, made obscene gestures on camera, probably smoked marijuana, and engaged in other troublesome teenage behavior” — like getting caught with possession of what was likely stolen jewelry, getting repeatedly suspended from school, and attempting to assault a bus driver.

This brings us to a second point.

Neither conservatives nor anyone else has made Martin out to be a vicious thug, as Ahlert says. What the record shows is that he was a thug of a sort, a thug wannabe, if you will. At the very least, he was thuggish, even if he may not have been a full-blown thug.

And we know this, not just from his record, but solely from the fact that he unleashed a torrent of violence upon Zimmerman.

No one credibly disputes that Martin threw the first punch. From what has been determined, it was he who threw every other punch after that as well. To be clear, there was no exchange of blows between Martin and Zimmerman. Rather, Zimmerman was on his back as Martin repeatedly pounded on him.

And it is not as if Zimmerman was in his face posing an imminent danger to Martin. Had this been the case, then perhaps the latter would have been justified in launching a preemptive punch (even if he would not have been justified in punching his face into the ground after he had succeeded in knocking him down).

Had Martin really feared for his life when he noticed that Zimmerman had been following him, and had he conducted himself in a non-thuggish way, then he would have done what Zimmerman did when he first observed Martin: call the authorities. Martin could’ve ended his phone call with Rachel Jeantel — to whom he referred to Zimmerman as a “creepy a** cracker” — and called the police.

Instead, he chose to lie in wait for Zimmerman before jumping him.

This is the official account of the events of that fateful evening when Martin’s life ended — an account that the jury in Florida accepted and that no one has been able to contradict.

Contra Ahlert, to acknowledge these facts is not to say that Martin “deserved” to be killed. Much less has anyone, least of all the “conservatives” whom Ahlert lectures, even remotely insinuated that Martin deserved to be killed because of his lifestyle.

However, to concede the facts is to concede both that Martin did indeed act thuggishly and that Zimmerman was just as justified in shooting him as an elderly woman would be justified in shooting an assailant who had her pinned on the ground while striking her.

Though painful, we mustn’t lose sight of the realities of this issue — even if the Zimmerman haters, including some alleged “conservatives,” insist upon calling them “caricatures.”

Black Unemployment Rate Tops 14.4%!

The glaringly incompetent Obama regime has
turned-out to be Black America's worst enemy...

'History is going to say that the
black middle class was decimated.'

Seems the flexible Chicago Machine template for exploiting the minority vote -where Obama/Jarrett/Rezko profited from government projects while South Side blacks they promised new apartments got crumbling, unsafe slums instead- was (predictably) scaled-up to the national level for Obamanomics: over-promise, under-deliver, and take real good care of all your fellow racketeers in the process. black unemployment rate

Meanwhile nothing of value has been created by massive government largess such as the Porkulus bill, and the numbers continue to make that hard to deny. But some cities in this country would be delighted to have their black unemployment rate dip to 14%... don't listen to me, read-all-about-it on the
AFL-CIO's own website:

African-American workers’ jobless rate in 2011 hovered between 9.7 percent and 22.6 percent in 19 major metropolitan areas, according to new data from the Economic Policy Institute (EPI). Overall, the black unemployment rate was two to three times as high as that of whites.

EPI also found that the 2011 unemployment rate among Latino workers was higher than 10 percent in 17 of 25 metro areas. Fifteen of the 19 metropolitan areas EPI examined had black unemployment rates below 20 percent but above 10 percent in 2011. Of these 15 areas, Chicago and Detroit had the highest African American unemployment rates, at 19.1 percent and 18.1 percent, respectively.

Of course they go on to suggest the solution is 'more stimulus' in these urban areas... presumably because we need to go big...
a trillion's just chump change these days, right Mr Trumka?

Back in reality, Dear Leader has blown a serious amount of the next two generation's money on would-be economic stimuli, myriad bailouts, and other misguided sprees while crony-capitalist political backers like GE under White House Advisor Jeffrey Immelt are doing just great. Sadly, impressionable sorts who pinned their future on hopenchange find themselves facing-down massive unemployment while hanging by a thread economically.

The fact of the matter is, when the so-called 'Stimulus' bill was being sold to us, Obama promised us a 5.6% national unemployment rate by this point in time, yet it's now stuck at 8.2%:

Obama has indeed succeeded in transforming a large section of the US middle class into entitlement-addicted serfs with no home equity and little optimism... just the way he likes 'em. But it's American blacks who have really been taking the brunt of it... and it appears that for the first time in his cosseted, auto-pilot political career, Barack Obama might be held responsible for actual results- and they are crap.

Tell me again black leaders, why do African-Americans need to vote for Obama? To sacrifice they and their family's current and future well-being in the name of creating an ugly racial divide for the Dems to exploit ad infinitum?

Hopefully many of the 95+% of black folks who voted for Obama in '08 will finally come to realize that if you blindly back a politician based on his skin color without any real due diligence or balanced consideration of alternatives, all you do is set yourself up to be used: they tell you what you want to hear and you're putty in their hands. And don't expect any gratitude from these populist con-artists, either- that ain't how the Chicago Machine works.
