The Realities Of Obamacare - It's A Total Mess

Political Realities ^ | 11/15/13 | LD Jackson

This is an easy conclusion to come to. The reality of Obamacare is that it started off as a total mess and is only getting worse. There are those of you who will read this who have joined in the clamor of trying to tell people just how bad the legislation really was. Many of us tried to tell the rest of America the program would not work, that it was designed to fail. We were told to shut up and were accused of racism because we dared challenge President Obama and the lies he was telling. Senator Ted Cruz has laid it all out, both in his marathon speech on the Senate floor and on every media outlet he can find. Obamacare is a government designed disaster.
Obamacare Reality CheckGuess what? The roll out of Obamacare is making it painfully obvious just how true our warnings were. Healthcare.gov is a joke that cost many millions of dollars to build. The President's claims that Americans could keep their plan if they liked it have been shown to be the lies they really were. Obama himself is stumbling around in the dark, determined to keep up the fight to save his signature legislative achievement. If you can call Obamacare an achievement.
I was more than a little busy at work yesterday, so I didn't have the chance to catch the news online. I learned something was up when I turned on Rush Limbaugh while I was eating my lunch. Once again, President Obama is acting like America's first dictator. Instead of going through Congress to pass a legislative fix to Obamacare, allowing insurance companies to continue providing plans that do not meet the "everything but the kitchen sink" requirements of Obamacare, he is carrying the ball himself. Doing so goes against every Constitutional standard there is, but that hasn't stopped him before. Just as he declared the employer mandate would be delayed, he held a press conference to tell the insurance companies they didn't have to cancel the plans for another year. Even though the cancellations are already in motion. I will remind you again, President Obama does not have the unilateral power to make such a declaration.
If such a fix is pursued, it should have taken place in the halls of Congress. That's how our government is designed to work. My thoughts are that the Republicans should stay away from any attempt to fix Obamacare. The Democrats own this debacle, passing it without a single Republican vote. It is now imploding in majestic fashion and should be allowed to do so. Fixing Obamacare would only delay the inevitable and help drive the country towards a single payer health care system, which is what Obama wanted to start with. If allowing Obamacare to go boom in the night causes harm to some Americans in the process, then so be it. The Democrats insisted on no compromise when Ted Cruz and Mike Lee tried to push the issue earlier this year. Now that it is clearly hurting their creditability, the Democrats are in favor of making a compromise to allow a "fix" to be put into place. The reality of 2014 is fast approaching.
The realities of Obamacare are becoming clearer every day. There were many of us who wondered if the media would ever wake up and start asking legitimate questions of a President who could do no wrong in their eyes. That seems to be happening, even if it is too little too late. President Obama clearly lied when he told Americans they could keep their health insurance plans. He would like to convince us we misunderstood him, but Americans are waking up tot he fact that he has been lying to us all along.
If the wind is blowing strongly where you are at, go outside for a moment. Turn to face the wind and try spitting directly into the breeze. If the wind is blowing hard enough, the only thing you will accomplish is to get spit all over your face. That analogy describes President Obama and Obamacare. He is facing the wind and spitting for all he is worth, but he is finding himself all alone, cleaning spit off his face. Even his own party is questioning his actions. They are distancing themselves from him, preferring to pass their own "fix" for Obamacare.
Not only is Obamacare a total disaster, the Obama administration continues to fumble their handling of the entire wreck. Lies have been told on top of lies. So much blame has been cast around, I'm surprised they haven't blamed President Bush for spending too much money on Healthcare.gov. All in all, it's not a pretty sight, or one in which I revel greatly. However, allow me one last bit of reality.
We tried to tell you and you didn't listen. What happens now is up to the rest of America who thought it was the coolest thing to help elect America's first black President. Not once, but twice. How's that working out for you?
