U.S. officials responded Sunday night to a report that the National Security Agency ended a program used to spy on German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other world leaders only after an internal Obama administration review started this summer exposed the operation.
An unnamed senior official told The Wall Street Journal that the White House "cut off some monitoring programs after learning of them, including the one tracking Ms. Merkel and some other world leaders. Other programs have been slated for termination but haven't been phased out completely yet."

This has got to be the most brazen, asinine, insulting attempt to lie, cover up the sorry excuse that is Obama in the history of excuses. It's very simple. The fact is he knew very well what was going on. And for that he deserves global unanimity as someone without the slightest social redeeming value. But to contend that he was unaware of what was going, is by every measure, the very worst of a very bad situation. This guy has no shame, modicum of morality. Pride, what a terrible price to pay to salvage an ego. He would rather look like the utter fool he is, lie with such startling ease, apathy merely to save face, do something absolutely immoral to prove to the world how very moral he is.
