President Barack Obama took a firm stance Thursday in response to questions on the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of conservative political groups and the Justice Department’s examination of leaks to The Associated Press, as his administration continued its effort to seize control of the narrative on those fronts.
On the IRS, the president told reporters his “main concern is fixing a problem, and we began that process yesterday” with the resignation of acting IRS commissioner Steven Miller. He plans to appoint a replacement this week.

The president also said investigations by multiple congressional committees and by the Justice Department would be “sufficient.”
“Between those investigations, I think we’re going to be able to figure out exactly what happened, who was involved, what went wrong,” said Obama.
