The state of the union is clear for all to see.
It is horrible.
It is deplorable.
It is disgraceful.
It is vulnerable.
It is battered.
It is essentially bankrupt.
It is, in short, lousy.
That's the state of the union, no matter what Obama might say to the contrary.
