Spending to Increase 55 Percent Under Obama's Plan

Spending will increase 55 percent over the next decade, if President Barack Obama's budget plan goes into effect. The finding comes from the Republican-side of the Senate Budget Committee, which notes that Obama's "Proposal Would Spend $880 Billion Over Already Projected Increases."
"The President's last fiscal cliff offer once again increased spending rather than reducing it," writes the minority-side of the Senate Budget Committee. "His plan does claim $800 billion in spending reductions over ten years, but these claims are more than offset by new spending increases: increasing spending above BCA limits ($1,200 billion); paying for the doc fix ($400 billion); new transportation stimulus spending ($50 billion), and; a one-year extension of unemployment insurance ($30 billion).
"After subtracting the president’s savings from his spending increases, over the next 10 years the President’s proposal actually spends $880 billion more - $44.368 trillion versus $43.488 trillion - than currently projected spending levels. In the next two years alone, the President’s plan would spend $255 billion over current projected spending levels ($156 billion higher in FY13 and $99 billion higher in FY14). Overall, spending would increase 55% under the President’s plan, from $3.6 trillion in FY13 to $ 5.6 trillion in FY22."

President Barack Obama needs a break. It's tiring and takes a tremendous amount of effort to dismantle 250 years of what made America the great nation we once were. So, in anticipation of leaving the drudgery of governing behind, Obama abandoned the wrecking ball he's been swinging for the last four years, left the 54 holiday trees that lost their lives in the White House, and jetted off with the wife, the kids and the dog for their nine-hour flight to Oahu.
During the planned 17-day breather the President will be doing the usual "playing golf, eating at local restaurants with family members and escorting his daughters to island water parks and other activities."
In other words, while America, on both a micro and macro level, anticipates a future of making do on a painful austerity budget, Barack Obama is resting up in preparation for his splashy, high-priced inauguration party and to resume the hard work he started of fundamentally trashing...sorry, "fundamentally transforming the United States of America."

Gun Control Advocates' Loudest Voices Are Most Heavily Protected

Thousands of gun control laws later, politicians like Mayor Bloomberg walk the streets of New York with armed security. According to a 2009 CBS News piece, Bloomberg, like his predecessors, is protected around the clock, “even when he’s not working.”
The mayor of the nation's largest city is protected around the clock, even when he's not working. He's trailed on the golf course, at the theater, while visiting relatives for Thanksgiving dinner--with taxpayers footing the bill.
The report goes further into how many armed individuals usually protect Mayor Bloomberg:
Mayors typically are protected by a five- or six-person team of plainclothes detectives, including one who often goes ahead to secure the destination. There are generally three teams that rotate for the 24-hour job.
Bodyguards generally have stayed overnight with the mayor in Gracie Mansion, the city's official residence. Bloomberg, a billionaire, has opted to stay in his own town house on a prime block of East 79th Street, where there is now a police booth.
Protection is available for a mayor's family members, but the Police Department makes those decisions based on the individuals and any perceived threat against them.

OK, I think I got it now.

Obama, Biden, Feinstein, Schumer, Lautenberg, Reid, and the libs in Congress, and many other high level gov officials, all got bodyguards for themselves and their families.
And their bodyguards all got full-automatic machine guns with great big high-capacity magazines. And no doubt lots of extra big high-capacity magazines - just in case, meaning they’ve got thousands & thousands of rounds of ammunition too to fill those big ole magazines.
And of course they don’t expect the U.S. military to disarm itself in a world of crazies like Iran, North Korea, Cuba, China, Russia, al-Qaeda, Islamic jihad, Muslim terrorists, and well many, many others. Of course the U.S. military has lots & lots of guns - BIG guns, UGLY guns.
And so Obama & the anti-gun lib leaders are all well protected both personally & nationally but the rest of us plebeians can fend for ourselves with our staves & pitchforks so as not to be too challenging a threat to their authority or rule. We cannot have guns - we as serfs cannot be trusted. Yeah, they want to be the only ones with the guns, except they just can’t seem to keep guns from those pesky criminals.
So we lose some children to a Lanza crazy. They just can’t trust the teachers, janitors, principals, or any of us plebs to have a gun to end such slaughter. And forget about armed security guards or police - too much money I’m sure. They wouldn’t do it after Columbine, the Sikh temple, Aurora, CO, Gabby Giffords, Fort Hood, Virginia Tech . . . There’s just too many guns out there, ungly guns, military-’style’ guns, guns with ‘big clips.’ And we have to take away the guns! That’s the mantra!
OK, I get it now.

Obama to Boehner: 'I Will Use Inaugural Address, State of the Union to Blame GOP' ^ | December 23, 2012 | Kate Hicks

Statesmanship at its finest: during fiscal cliff talks, President Obama reportedly told Speaker Boehner that he would use his two major speeches in January to blame Republicans for the stalled deal. According to the Wall Street Journal, the president wasn't too happy with the options House Republicans were willing to present, and made it clear he was willing to throw the GOP under the bus for the nation's financial woes.
Mr. Obama repeatedly lost patience with the speaker as negotiations faltered. In an Oval Office meeting last week, he told Mr. Boehner that if the sides didn't reach agreement, he would use his inaugural address and his State of the Union speech to tell the country the Republicans were at fault.
At one point, according to notes taken by a participant, Mr. Boehner told the president, "I put $800 billion [in tax revenue] on the table. What do I get for that?"
"You get nothing," the president said. "I get that for free."
Sounds like those talks are going really well.
In seriousness, the article makes clear that the president has refused any and all deals Boehner has offered, even those in which Republicans capitulated on tax hikes for the wealthy, an Obama staple. It's clear that the president and the House are both unwilling to bend to one anothers' terms, and it's disconcerting to see that Obama would rather use his platform to keep pointing fingers than for some more inspiring message, nevermind swallowing his pride and accepting a semi-viable deal.
Obama claims to have modeled himself after Lincoln, but it certainly doesn't sound like he's minding his favored predecessor's example of how to compose a second inaugural address in times of turmoil:
With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation's wounds, to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan, to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.
Imagine the man who spoke those words coming before his country in a time of distress and blaming a rival political party for all the nation's ills; it's impossible. Obama is a well-known admirer of the Lincoln biography "Team of Rivals," but while he's talking to the other side, he seems unwilling to listen. Apparently, he's content with laying blame and saving face at the expense of the nation's financial health.
