It's Not Bush's Fault : Let's dispatch some misconceptions about our 43rd president

American Thinker ^ | 09/16/2012 | Ben Voth

Madeleine Albright recently made headlines responding to a question about when Democrats might stop blaming President Bush for economic difficulties and other contemporary problems. She flippantly responded: "Never." Her comment was symptomatic of our pathological intellectual culture that has been locked now for decades in a mode of denial about the fault lying among anti-conservatives for the nation's ills. Among the most treasured rhetorical heirlooms in this dysfunctional history is the meme "It's Bush's fault."

To be clear, the meme suggests that an array of problems all stem from the presidency of George W. Bush. Most principally, these problems include deficit spending, severe economic recession, unemployment, and global contempt for America. These problems are so profound and so entrenched that no Democrat or team of Democrats could ever hope to extract the nation from this Mariana Trench of political disaster. Mere mortals are slowly dragging the good ship America from this bottomless pit of despair.

The meme is so fiercely repeated that it is rare for Republicans or conservatives to deny that it is at least substantially true. President Bush is regularly dismissed from any public gathering of Republicans as a matter of obedience to Democrats, whom Republicans and conservatives regularly accept as the proper dispensers of political truths. Let's dispatch these misconceptions:

CURL: Obama’s protective press cordon!

The Washington Times ^ | September 16, 2012 | Joseph Curl

A full day after the U.S. ambassador to Libya was brutally killed by a Muslim mob, another mob attacked Mitt Romney. While armed only with pens and notebooks, the cabal meant to inflict the same outcome on the Republican’s presidential campaign.

Protecting and defending President Obama through his failures and blunders and gaffes is a full-time job for America’s mainstream press corps — and they’re getting worried. So, they attacked the GOP nominee for his reaction to the U.S. Embassy in Egypt’s statement condemning “the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims.”

Was that “appropriate”? “Mixed signal”? “Jumped the gun”? Seven of eight questions were on his statement. It was an another embarrassing day for the national media, and the slap-down was short-lived; within 48 hours, the Middle East and North Africa were in full-blown crisis, and details began to pour out about all the administration had done wrong leading up to the first killing of a U.S. ambassador since the one term of Jimmy Carter.

The U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya, it turned out, was barely guarded; the mob easily breached security and swarmed in. Worse, a U.K. newspaper reported, “the U.S. State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted, but no warnings were given for diplomats to go on high alert and ‘lockdown.’”
In the days following the killing, the White House scrambled to pin blame on something or someone — anything but them. White House spokesman Jay Carney said the violence in Egypt and Libya was “in response to a video, a film we have judged to be reprehensible and disgusting,” referring to a YouTube video, “The Innocence of Muslims.”
Of course, the claim was preposterous....

IRS: Agents will not be involved in tax audits, pursuing Americans without health insurance (Obamacare dies for sure) ^ | september 16, 2012

The mandate in ObamaCare requiring Americans to buy health insurance is poised to go into full effect as a result of the recent Supreme Court ruling. But the IRS has no plans to get agents involved in enforcing the mandate – or at least not to the agency’s fullest extent.

A top IRS official says the agency does not plan to perform audits or penalize those who fail to buy the insurance.

President Obama’s law overhauling U.S. health care -- passed in 2010 and upheld by the high court this year -- charges most Americans a penalty if they fail to buy insurance starting in 2014.

“We will not use levies, liens or criminal prosecutions if taxpayers have unpaid amounts related to the individual-coverage provision,” Steven Miller, an IRS deputy commissioner, said Tuesday at a House Ways and Means subcommittee hearing. “There will not be revenue agents involved in this. These will not be audits.”

Price of Obama's 'College Affordability' ^ | September 16, 2012 | Debra J. Saunders

"No family should have to set aside a college acceptance letter because they don't have the money," President Barack Obama told the Democratic National Convention as he accepted his party's nomination in Charlotte, N.C., this month.

That sentence -- key in Obama's "college affordability" agenda -- says everything about this administration's approach to selling itself to the American voter.

What's wrong with the message? Let me count the ways.
--It ignores reality. There is no reason a qualified poor kid cannot get into college in the United States simply because of money.
Richard J. Vedder, director of Ohio University's Center for College Affordability and Productivity, told me that Obama's correct, "people might get an acceptance at a relatively expensive private school that they can't afford to go to." But if students are accepted into one college, they can get into another, more affordable college, such as a community college, where Pell Grants cover tuition.
"If he's saying that not everyone can get into whatever college they want to get into, he's probably right," Vedder said. "I'm not sure that the American people would agree that every student should be able to get into the school they want." As an example, he mentioned Harvard University.
--It hints that GOP rival Mitt Romney would usher in a Hobbesian era in which poor kids are denied all opportunity to a college education.
To the contrary, Brookings Institution fellow Beth Akers recently blogged that Romney has "expressed a preference for redistributing aid dollars toward the neediest students."
Akers concluded that both Obama and Romney want to "tackle" college affordability -- Romney through market-based reforms, Obama with increased Pell Grants and price controls.
--It ignores the fact that a college education is not a ticket to the middle class or beyond if graduates cannot land good jobs.
The Associated Press crunched government data recently and found that 53 percent of recent college graduates are unemployed or underemployed. These graduates need good jobs far more than they need a break paying off their student loans. They need careers. They need to see an economic future, a path that can lead them out of a downsized economy.
Recent graduates need a president who can instill employers with the confidence to hire new workers. Yet all Obama can do is wave the promise of bigger loans that are easier to pay off.
Or not pay off.
--It peddles a form of loan forgiveness in the name of "affordability."
Congress already passed an Obama measure to cap student loan payments at 15 percent of a graduate's discretionary income and forgive any outstanding balance after 25 years. This year, the Democratic National Committee platform held out "avenues for students to manage their federal student loans so that their payments can be only 10 percent of what they make each month." Actually, last year, the president issued an executive order that set a loan payment cap of 10 percent of income and proclaimed forgiveness of outstanding loan balances after 20 years for some graduates.
Romney's plan is to offer smarter financial aid, countered campaign policy director Lanhee Chen, "by working to create more diverse, affordable options for postsecondary education and by simplifying the financial aid system."
The Democrats' 2012 platform warns: "Tuition at public colleges has soared over the last decade and students are graduating with more and more debt; but Mitt Romney thinks students should 'shop around' for the 'best education they can afford.'"
America's student loan debt now exceeds the public's unhealthy credit card debt. Still, the Democrats think it's bad for young people to think about finances when they pick a school.
The president's remedy is to tell Americans: Vote for me and you can take out really big student loans. Be not afraid. As Vedder noted, "you've got a pretty good chance you won't have to pay it back."

Don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining!

Mr. President, there is an old saying that, while a bit crude, is wholly appropriate for what is going on: Don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining.

Most people are reasonably intelligent and have enough common sense to look at a situation and see what is really going on, but it has become a habit of yours and of those around you to try and tell us we aren’t seeing what we think we’re seeing. For instance, we look around us and see a once great economy failing rapidly, people all around us struggling and looking for work, factories and businesses closing, record numbers of people on food stamps, gas and food prices skyrocketing; and yet you and your lackeys tell us the economy is recovering and despite what we know to be true, we’re better off because of your policies.

We’ve watched you and your family jet around the world taking expensive vacations, we’ve witnessed the frequency of your golf games, appearances on Letterman, the constant fund raising events, and then we’re told you have a “laser-like focus” on job creation. Sir, when was the last time you met with your jobs council? You claim to have created 4 million new jobs, so then why are 23 million Americans either unemployed or under-employed?

We have watched with disgust you worldwide apology tour, gritted our teeth as you tried to tried to cozy up to our enemies, felt shame as you insulted and turned your back on our closest allies, yet you tell us you are proud of your foreign policy record. You joined with Al Qaeda in overthrowing the governments of Egypt and Libya, helping a known terrorist organization seize control of Egypt as they were publicly calling for war with Israel, and you seem surprised that the Middle East is now on fire.

Sir, our embassies have been over run, one of our ambassadors and two other Americans killed, the flag of Al Qaeda has been raised over our embassy in Tunisia while our flag is being burned on streets around the world, people are carrying signs that say “we hate America” and chanting “Death to America”, and your Press Secretary goes on television like Baghdad Bob claiming that these acts of violence are not directed at the United States.

Over and over your policies have failed, people are suffering and even dying because of your inability or unwillingness to lead this country and the best you can do is to tell us things are better than they seem. When someone does have the gumption to call you on it, you blame it on someone else. Mr. President, George Bush lives in Texas now; it is you that occupies the White House.

An election is going to take place in November. As that event approaches you and your campaign staff are doing your best to convince us that Mitt Romney is evil because of his wealth and that despite the misery our country is in, you deserve four more years in office.

Mr. Obama forgive me if I don’t stand still while you tell me it’s time for you to switch legs.

Bernanke’s “Pump to dump the Republicans” scheme already hurting America’s credit rating! ^ | SEPTEMBER 16TH, 2012 | Suzanne Eovaldi, staff writer

“Pump to dump the Republicans” is now in full swing as Fed head Ben Bernanke looks to secure his reappointment and Obama’s reelection with a new Quantitative Easing maneuver even though he admitted in August that “the economy is far from satisfactory!”

Print money we don’t have but print it we will because America’s go to guy for easy money just pulled the lever of our printing presses to artificially pump the housing market hoping those new home owners somehow will make it to the polls in November to pull their vote levers for Barack Obama.

But wait a minute. Isn’t a loosey goosey housing market crisis what caused the 2008 crash? And doesn’t doing the same thing over and over to get different results constitute insanity?
Well, maybe, not so much. If this financial snake oil salve worked in Obama’s favor then, maybe so now, and insanity turns into Democrat campaign win.
Bernanke just took advantage of his own loose money policies when he recently re fi’d Washington home unloading 2009 fixed rate mortgage with 5.375 rate into a new fixed rate of 4.25% in 2011.
.. home listed valued at between $500,000 and $1 million dollars with no exact figure being required for reporting purposes.
And how about seeing this man’s former boyhood home sold to another buyer today for $83,000 in a foreclosure sale?
Bernanke’s policies really benefited the young banker who snapped up this great bargain when the former owners fell behind on their home payments. “The small town-Dillon, S.C.-that gave the Fed its chairman is suffering more than most with an unemployment rate of 14.2%, double the national average,” reports the Wall Street Journal.
“day after …. cut its credit rating for the U.S. government to “AA-” from “AA.”

The Picture That Should Cost Obama His Job (Lets Make It Happen)!

PJ Media ^ | September 15, 2012 | Roger Kimball

Instapundit heads the piece “Why Barack Obama Should Resign.” That’s a good title. The column might also be titled, “Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid.” I remember a line from the philosopher David Hume that Hayek used as an epigraph to The Road to Serfdom. “It is seldom,” said Hume, “that liberty of any kind is lost all at once.” There’s the innocent seeming accommodation here, the turning a blind eye to official violations of the law there, and, bang, before you can say Saul Alinsky, people are being rounded up at midnight by brownshirted men for making a movie that embarrasses El Presidente.
In case you think that is a baseless exaggeration by a knuckle-dragging, right-wing hater, take a look at the photo:

By way of explication, Glenn Reynolds quotes the L.A. Times: “Just after midnight Saturday morning, authorities descended on the Cerritos home of the man believed to be the filmmaker behind the anti-Muslim movie that has sparked protests and rioting in the Muslim world.”
Got that? The chap made a movie. (He may also have violated probation, but that herring is red, Comrade.) As Glenn observes, “By sending — literally — brownshirted enforcers to engage in — literally — a midnight knock at the door of a man for the non-crime of embarrassing the President of the United States and his administration, President Obama violated that oath. . . . It is a betrayal of his duties as President, and a disgrace.”
Yep. And he should resign. And, as Glenn further observes, he surely won’t. But the people of the United States, Democrat as well as Republican, should turn him out of office ignominiously in November.

Obama Ignores the Real Threat of Islamic Supremacists & Continues to Blame the Movie!

Michelle Obama's Mirror ^ | 9-16-2012 | MOTUS

It’s quite troublesome that the “the Middle East is burning” meme is still gaining traction. It’s really putting a chill on our celebrity fundraising season which is just kicking into high gear as we draw close to the second coming reelection.

Meanwhile, our counter meme “It’s the MOVIE, stupid!” seems to be falling apart a little too fast.

Just like in the movies, shit happens
Now even the Libyans themselves seem to be blaming Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula for the attack on our consulate and the killing of our embassy staff instead of Terry Jones. Maybe our State Department should start reading the Wall Street Journal for intelligence information. Or Victor Davis Hansen.
Or maybe our Ambassador to the UN could at least read Yahoo News where it’s still possible to pick up a few choice clues...
Butt this kerfuffle sure has everyone shuffling around to find firm ground to stand on. The press even asked Jay-Jay about why Big Guy doesn’t attend his Presidential Daily Briefings! Imagine the audacity. Jay-Jay just put them right in their place though:
But Mr. Carney says in-person briefings aren't necessary for Mr. Obama; the iPad works just fine...

The White House and Press Create a Fairy Tale Version of History!

American Thinker ^ | September 16, 2012 | Clarice Feldman

When I was a kid, a popular TV show (and earlier a radio one) was You Are There, the theme of which was bringing the viewer into re-enacted historic events to better learn about them.

Watching the Middle East doings this week with any degree of care, news consumers can see quite clearly how mendacious officials, media and our enemies have created a false storyline about the uprisings in Cairo and Libya which, among other things have resulted in the murder of an Ambassador Chris Stevens and three of his aides, Glen Doherty, Sean Smith and Tyrone Woods and the loss of very important security information in Libya . (See this link is to the UK's Daily Mail because the US press coverage has come nowhere near as detailed or accurate as this. The attacks didn't even make it to the front page of the New York Times.)

These incidents mark the start of a serious further destabilization of a strategically significant part of the world. By Friday, other Western Embassies had been attacked in the Sudan, there was a bomb threat by Al Qaeda at the University of Texas and the US Embassy in Tunisia was being sacked. In fact, a Google map of the entire world shows how extensive the demonstrations are, many of which haven't been reported here.
Assuming you have a life and haven't been able to keep track minute by minute of this re-writing of history, here is what's going on behind the shadow puppet show screen.
Myth No 1: This Administration has strengthened our alliances and improved national security.
Obama jettisoned Egypt's Hosni Mubarak and gave aid to the Libyan rebels who deposed Moammar Gaddafi, acts entirely of his own doing, done without Congressional consent or bipartisan agreement...

Rep. Ryan: New Fed policy a ‘bailout’ for Obama economy ("Obamanomics' didn't work.")

The Hill ^ | 9/15/12 | Peter Schroeder

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said the Federal Reserve's latest policy shift amounts to a "bailout" of the economy under President Obama.

Speaking at a campaign event in Oldsmar, Fla., Mitt Romney's vice presidential candidate lambasted the Fed's recent decision to try and do more to boost the economy as "sugar high economics."

"We don't need synthetic money creation. We need economic growth. We want wealth creation," he said. "We don't want to print money. We want opportunity and growth.”

On Thursday, the Fed announced it was embarking on a third round of "quantitative easing," in which it would buy up $40 billion of bonds every month. But in a new move, the Fed said this time it would be continuing the purchases until it was satisfied with the rate of growth in the labor market — the past two rounds of easing were set at a specific volume of purchases. The Fed also said it expected to keep interest rates near zero until mid-2015 (it had previously predicted rates would stay low until the end of 2014), and that it was willing to do more if it found it necessary.

The Romney-Ryan ticket, along with congressional Republicans, were fiercely critical of the move when it was announced, and used its existence as proof that the president's attempts to turn around the economy have failed.

"We heard that the Federal Reserve is coming with a new bailout," Ryan said Saturday, to grumbles from the crowd. "This matters. So the Federal Reserve is basically saying that we don't have a recovery. 'Obamanomics' didn't work."

Ryan has long been critical of the Fed's recent attempts to boost the economy, warning the massive purchases and easy money policies are encouraging damaging inflation down the line. Ryan has joined other congressional Republicans in pushing legislation that would trim the Fed's mandate, so that instead of focusing on both controlling inflation and maximizing employment, the central bank would only be occupied with keeping prices stable — leaving the job-creating policies up to Congress.

The Obama campaign swung back on Ryan's remarks, saying the lawmaker in promoting the policies of the Romney-Ryan ticket was in no position to tout support for the middle-class.

"Congressman Ryan has no credibility when it comes to helping the middle class. The Romney-Ryan plan is to raise taxes on middle class families by cutting benefits like the mortgage interest deduction, the child tax credit, and the charitable deduction to pay for $250,000 tax cuts for multi-millionaires like Mitt Romney," said Danny Kanner, campaign spokesman. "And when it comes to standing up to Wall Street, the Romney-Ryan plan is to allow the biggest banks to write their own rules again. That’s not a recipe for strengthening the middle class – it’s the same failed formula that crashed our economy and devastated the middle class in the first place."

We got to let HIM go!

White House Must Stop Sony from Releasing 'Killing bin Laden' Film ^ | 9/15/12 | John Nolte

Now that the White House and State Department have made clear that they believe movies compel terrorists to terrorize, it's time for them to get ahead of this problem. And one thing the White House can do immediately is to pressure Sony to stop the release of director Kathryn Bigelow's "Zero Dark Thirty," which celebrates the killing of Osama bin Laden.

I'm only saying this because, you know, the White House and the media told me movies inflame and cause terrorism.

Think about it: if the poorly produced and laughably bad trailer for "The Innocence of Muslims" results in chaos, murder, and the burning of foreign outposts all throughout the Middle East, how much rioting and mayhem is a big-budgeted, slickly produced, Oscar-bait blockbuster celebrating the death of the leader of al-Qaeda going to cause?
Moreover, an excuse Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will not be able to use in the case of "Zero Dark Thirty" (as she did with "Innocence of Muslims") is the cowardly and self-righteous claim that the federal government and the Obama White House had nothing to do with "Zero Dark Thirty."

Roberts' ruling a poison pill for Obamacare

WorldNetDaily ^ | Sep 14 2012 | Bob Unruh

The penalties Americans will be required to pay under Obamacare for going without health insurance were declared constitutional in a U.S. Supreme Court decision that hinged on Chief Justice John Roberts’ assertion that the assessments are taxes.

But a legal challenge to the federal government takeover of health-care decision-making says that’s a problem, because Harry Reid created the Obamacare legislation, with all of its new “taxes,” in the U.S. Senate.

The demand for an explanation is being raised in an amended complaint filed by the Pacific Legal Foundation, which is representing a man who believes the new bureaucracy isn’t legal.

“If the charge for not buying insurance is seen as a federal tax, then a new question must be asked,” said Paul J. Beard II, the principal attorney for the organization.

When lawmakers passed the Affordable Care Act, with all of its taxes, “Did they follow the Constitution’s procedures for revenue increases?” Beard asked.

The Supreme Court wasn’t asked and didn’t address this question, he noted.
“The question of whether the Constitution was obeyed needs to be litigated, and PLF is determined to see this important issue all the way through the courts,” he said.

Krauthammer says ‘the tide of American power is receding,’ blames Obama for becoming ‘irrelevant’

Daily Caller ^ | 15 Sep 2012 | Jeff Poor

According to Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer, the short anti-Muhammad video supposedly made by filmmaker Sam Bacile isn’t the primary cause of the ongoing violence and anti-American unrest in the Middle East.
In an appearance on Friday’s “Hannity” on the Fox News Channel, Krauthammer downplayed White House spokesman Jay Carney’s insistence that the video is at fault for the turmoil. Instead, he blamed America’s weak policy posture.
“[Saying that] this has nothing to do with us or our policies, [that] it’s about a video, is either willfully obtuse or simply clueless,” Krauthammer said. “What has happened is, as you pointed out, beginning with the Cairo speech, Obama changed American policy on the theory that the reason that people hated us was because we were tough. They hated us because of Iraq. They hated us because of Guantanamo. They hated us because of the torture — he used the word, he accuses his own country abroad of torturing.”
“And he was now apologizing and promising to change course,” he continued. “We would no longer be tough. We would be loved. We would show compassion. And we would get out of Iraq. He set a deadline for Afghanistan. He doesn’t support the Green Revolution in Iran. He shows the Ayatollahs tremendous respect. He essentially protects them when they are under attack. He gets nowhere on the Iran nuclear issue. He is equivocal uncertain during the Arab Spring. He leads from behind in Libya. The theory was if we go soft, if we are very nice, if we say ‘Assalamu alaikum,’ enough times, everything will be all right. And what he decided is, the way to do that, the theory and therefore the practice is going to be, retreat and withdraw. Remember the line he uses? The tide of war is receding.”

Chicago Strike: who represents the kids?

WorldNetDaily ^ | Sep 14 2012 | Star Parker

It says something about today’s public education reality that the two sides in the teachers’ union dispute in Chicago are the union and the mayor.

Allegedly, the point of schools is to educate children. But which side in this dispute has sole interest in children and their parents?

The answer, of course, is neither side.

Unions are about the economic interests of the teachers. The mayor is about his budget and the economic interests of the city.

No one solely represents the interests of the kids.

It’s not to say that the union or the mayor has no interest in the quality of education being delivered. But this is just part of their agenda.
Do union members have to worry that their jobs will be gone if children don’t get the best possible education? No. Does the mayor have to worry that his job will be gone or his career over if children don’t get the best possible education? No.
In private-sector labor disputes, sitting across from the union representative is the representative of a private company. The survival of that firm depends on its ability to serve its customers. Its labor cost is one line item in the cost structure of the products it sells.
The firm negotiating with the union does have to be concerned that union demands will drive it out of business – that it won’t be able to deliver the best, most competitively priced products.

Israeli Foreign Ministry officials say U.S. ignored Arab wrath!

Haaretz ^ | Sep.16, 2012 | 1:01 AM | Barak Ravid

Foreign Ministry official on signs of ‘radicalization’ in Arab world: ‘We knew what was happening, but the Americans preferred to find excuses.’

For months before the most recent attacks on U.S. embassies in North African states, Foreign Ministry and U.S. State Department officials had been arguing over developments in these countries. Senior figures in Jerusalem claimed that Washington was burying its head in the sand and ignoring the increasing radicalization in states such as Tunisia and Egypt.

The Obama administration, which since the beginning of the Arab Spring has aided, directly or indirectly, the forces that brought down the dictatorial regimes in Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen and Lybia, now finds itself in a position of helplessness. The attack on the consulate in Benghazi, in which the U.S. ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, was killed, and the storming of the U.S. embassies in Tunis, Sanaa and Cairo, proved the great hostility to the United States and the unwillingness of these country's new leaders to challenge domestic public opinion.
Senior Foreign Ministry officials say their conversations with their Washington counterparts have focused on what Jerusalem terms "radicalizing trends" against not only Israel but also against the United States and the West in general.
One of the most recent such meetings took place a week ago, during a visit to Jerusalem by the acting Assistant Secretary of State for Near East Affairs, A. Elizabeth Jones.
"The Americans were constantly trying to supply explanations and excuses for events in the post-revolution Arab states, and simply ignored the problems," one senior Israeli official said, adding, "In practice the administration's ability to affect events in the Arab world has decreased immensely."
The Foreign Ministry official presented the example of Tunisia, which was expected to be moderate despite the rise to power of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Why Barack Obama Should Resign

Instapundit ^ | 9/15/2012 | Glenn Reynolds

Here’s the key bit: “Just after midnight Saturday morning, authorities descended on the Cerritos home of the man believed to be the filmmaker behind the anti-Muslim movie that has sparked protests and rioting in the Muslim world.”

When taking office, the President does not swear to create jobs. He does not swear to “grow the economy.” He does not swear to institute “fairness.”

The only oath the President takes is this one:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

The Dangerous Road We Must Take

 by Mackaywarrior

This week America saw the true colors of the Arab spring. Rioters all over the Middle East attacked and raised Islamic Radical Flags over Sovereign American Soil. These attacks have raised a number of questions in American's Hearts (like where in the world were the Embassy Guards?) but while many American's grieve and pray for the lost souls of these awful events, others are scheming on how to push their Agenda to pacify America. Many leftists will see these Embassy attacks as the rallying point they needed to turn America Against the War on Terror. However, like a bully on the play ground, backing away from this fight now will only cause more damage to us in the future.

The Arab Spring has given many nations in the Middle East a Revolutionary mindset. When they see something the do not appreciate they will strike with violence because they were successful with violence before. What this means for America is that there are now many weakened nations looking for a fight and are willing to fight with anyone to achieve their goals. Countries like Libya and Egypt will openly support Anti- Western Terrorism and if America shows weakness they will hit again, and harder. Radical Islamism smells blood in the water and if we do not hit them hard enough, they will keep attacking until we lose all strength in our foreign Policy. If we leave now not only will the terrorists think we are weak but they will also think that if you can hit us hard enough we will scurry away with our tail between our legs. This will lead to them hitting America anyway they can (and everywhere they can). The Eastern World sees America as the head of the snake and they know that if America falls, liberty will fall with soon after.

Americans need to take a good look at the situation. Are we willing to let our foreign Representatives die just because some Americans were practicing their freedom of speech (That is if we really believe they were motivated by some video)? As Patton once said “All real Americans love the sting of battle.” The road we must travel will not be an easy one but if we truly believe that all people deserve to be free then we will fight back and we will not give up. When Americans see radicals killing Americans because individuals was expressing their freedom of speech then we must remember one of the many inspiring words from our Founding Fathers; “Live Free or Die.”

Obama Polling Worse Among Jews Than Any Dem in 32 Years!

Daniel Greenfield

You have to go all the way back to Jimmy Carter in 1980 to find a Democratic candidate who’s polling worse among Jews than Obama is. And that’s no coincidence. Carter scored big numbers against Ford in 1976 only to lose a major chunk of Jewish supporters after four years of pro-Terrorist policies that undermined Israel and security and stability in the Middle East.

Obama reportedly scored 76 percent of the Jewish vote in 2008. Carter picked up 71 percent in 1976. By 1980, Carter was down to 45 percent. The latest polls show Obama down to 59 percent among Jews.

No Democrat has ever won the White House with that low a share of the vote. The Democratic candidates who scored that low, Carter in 1980, Dukakis, Mondale, McGovern, Adlai Stevenson, were all losers who went on to lose the election. To find a Democratic presidential candidate who won less than 60 percent of the Jewish vote and still won the White House, you have to go back 96 years to the election of 1916 where Woodrow Wilson had 55 percent of the Jewish vote against 45 percent for Republican Chris Evans Hughes. And that was considered a very close election.
The Jewish vote does not determine elections, but it is a sign of the loss of support. Romney is taking a Reagan sized bite of the Catholic vote and is within 4 percent of matching Reagan’s numbers among Jews.

US consulate in Benghazi 'did not have enough security' (BBC breaks another story)

bbc ^ | 9/14/2012 | frank gardner

The US consulate in Benghazi, where the US ambassador to Libya died in an attack on Tuesday, was not given the standard security contract offered to many American diplomatic missions in the Middle East, private military contractors have told the BBC.

The consulate's walls were breached in just 15 minutes, guards were outgunned and overwhelmed and four US personnel were killed, including the Ambassador, J Christopher Stevens.

US embassies and consulates in areas of the world where they are deemed liable to attack are usually offered a formal security contract called a Worldwide Protective Services Agreement, known in the industry as a 'Wips'.

The contract, or so-called tasking order, is between the US state department and any one of several major private military contractors such as DynCorp International and Aegis Defence Services.
This was a well-crafted military operation: the attackers would have carried out at least two weeks of surveillance" ”
Under this agreement, extensive security precautions are put in place, including low-profile armoured vehicles, run-flat tyres, sufficient weapons, ammunition and trained personnel, as well as a tried and tested command and control system.
But sources have told the BBC that on the advice of a US diplomatic regional security officer, the mission in Benghazi was not given the full contract despite lobbying by private contractors.
Instead, the US consulate was guarded externally by a force of local Libyan militia, many of whom reportedly put down their weapons and fled once the mission came under concerted attack.

Middle East Mayhem: Congrats Obama,You Built That!

Townhall ^ | Sept. 16, 2012 | Doug Giles

Remember back in the beginning of 2011 when Obama told us about the freedom lovers in Egypt and Libya living under the oppression of dictators and needing our immediate help to establish democracy in their fair lands?

Yep, these "yearners for democracy" turned out to be radicals of radicals who'd like nothing more than to eradicate the U.S. and Israel and establish a global bounce house for all things Muslim.
Whoopsie, eh Mr. President? You kind of misjudged that one, senor.

At least I hope Obama misjudged their end game because if he had even an inkling that they would quickly blossom into full-blown anti-America/Israel hate machines then that would make some folks think that our president ... um ... uh ... doesn't have our ... how shall I say ... our best interests or our allies' best interests at heart.

‘Every American should be ashamed of their president’

The Daily Caller ^ | September 14, 2012 | Jeff Poor

On Hugh Hewitt’s radio show Thursday night, National Review columnist Mark Steyn, author of “After America: Get Ready for Armageddon,” said President Barack Obama gave an embarrassing performance Wednesday during his campaign swing through Las Vegas, Nev., in the wake of attacks on U.S. diplomatic stations in Libya and Egypt.

Use link below to hear:

“I thought that thing last night with the president saying he had ‘a tough day’ and comparing the dead Americans in Libya to campaign supporters, which he did — I thought was one of the most disgraceful, inept and embarrassing performances by a head of state or government that I have ever seen,” Steyn said. “Every American should be ashamed of their president.”

Steyn didn’t fault the president for going to Sin City, acknowledging that sometimes plans are in place and things have to move along. But the tone of Obama’s remarks set him off.
“He didn’t script his remarks,” Steyn said. “I mean, this is a man, for example, who doesn’t have, I think, great empathetic qualities at the best of times. But to slough it off in that bloodless language — you know, when he says, now I believe this is a direct quote, ‘Obviously, our hearts are broken today.’ If you say ‘obviously’ before it, your heart is not broken. He said, ‘Oh, it’s a tough day.’ It’s not a tough day [for him]. It’s a tough day for the families of the four people who were killed.”
Steyn told Hewitt, the author of “The Brief Against Obama: The Rise, Fall & Epic Fail of the Hope & Change Presidency,” that Obama should have prepared better for that situation, given all the tools at his disposal.
“Why can’t you — you’re spending $4 trillion a year, and you’ve got these 12-year-old speechwriters you’re so proud of, and you’re the king of the prompter, why couldn’t you on Air Force One, you’re the only head of state in any major country who has a plane to fly him around his own country, and a 40-car motorcade — while you were on the stupid plane, why can’t you actually take the trouble to learn some words that would mean something and are appropriate to the occasion?”
He compared Obama’s performance to those of former President Ronald Reagan and former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher after tragedies, reiterating his charge that Obama’s remarks were something that should embarrass Americans of all political persuasions.
“If you think of Reagan, after the space shuttle thing, if you think of what Mrs. Thatcher said after the Brighton bombing that killed cabinet colleagues of hers — it’s horrible, it’s disgraceful,” he said.
“Nobody, no novelist would attempt to do anything so crass after this man is dragged through the streets — after he is killed, dragged through the streets of Libya, God knows what’s happened to him if you believe some of the worst stories out there. And then the guy goes to Vegas. Why not just do it at Caesar’s Palace with a bunch of showgirls? Every American who’s watching, regardless if you’re Democrat or Republican, if you’re not embarrassed by the buffoon who’s serving as President of the United States after that performance last night, there’s something wrong with you.”

GOP to Romney: Why Aren't You Winning? ^

Republican activists are incredulous: Why can't Republican Mitt Romney seem to break open a tight race with President Barack Obama given the nation's sluggish economy and conservative enthusiasm to beat the Democrat?

"He ought to be killing Obama, and he's clearly not doing that," said 32-year-old R.J. Robinson, one of the thousands of activists attending the annual Values Voters Summit this weekend. "He should be doing better."

Added Mike Garner, a 27-year-old hawking "Reagan was right" buttons at the meeting: "If Romney loses this election, the party really needs to do some soul-searching."

Their sentiments were echoed in interviews with more than a dozen GOP activists and social conservative leaders who attended the annual gathering focused on social and cultural issues and sponsored by the Family Research Council.

The summit was filled with rhetoric meant to fire up the party's base voters. Romney needs them to turn out in force at the polls in November and, between now and then, to convince others to do the same through extensive get-out-the-vote grassroots canvassing in swing-voting states...

The Media's Rape of Reality ^ | September 16, 2012 | Derek Hunter

I didn’t want to write this column. I definitely didn’t want to use these words. I wanted to write about something else, but after the events of this week, I had no choice.

I am here to report a rape. To protect President Obama from the failure of his administration to anticipate or respond appropriately to the attacks on our embassies in the Middle East, the media has absolutely raped the truth.

Americans were targeted and murdered by radical monsters around the globe. The president did nothing about it. The White House had at least a 48-hour advance warning this was coming. It told no one. It didn’t warn the diplomats or increase security at the embassies. It didn’t warn the complicit governments – and they are as involved in this as the mobs and murderers themselves – of potential consequences.
And when the attacks were over? The president took all of one hour of out of his busy fundraising/campaign schedule to address this matter. Then, it was off to Las Vegas and back to his rich friends to shake the money maker.
Let me be clear, every drop of blood spilled by Americans as a result of the actions of these monsters drips through the hands of this administration before it hits the ground.
There’s no need to recount the story now, except to say the president, the secretary of state and their auditioning second-term press secretaries in the media burnt more calories this week attacking an American in California for exercising his First Amendment right to free speech than they did condemning the murderous mobs or their enablers in their respective governments.
Whatever outrage they had leftover was reserved for Mitt Romney for committing the unforgivable sin of standing up for American values in the face of terrorism and speaking out against it hours before the President did. That the President’s campaign attacked Romney for standing up for American values a full 8 hours before the President condemned the attacks on and murder of Americans isn’t a story.
Until a better word is invented, disgusting will have to do.
Within 48 hours of the first attacks the Justice Department had tracked down the filmmaker and leaked his name to the media. The media dutifully reported it as if they’d found an escaped Nazi. Of course that analogy doesn’t fit perfectly as escaped Nazi are granted the presumption of innocence.
After all, all the filmmaker did was make a bad movie despotic governments we helped empower could use to incite rioting and direct the anger away from their own incompetence and toward the greatest force for freedom the world has ever known. Through state controlled media, they played this unknown video endlessly and spread it throughout the region. All the while, our President skipped nearly 60 percent his national security briefings. Turns out maybe you can’t get by on the Cliff notes on those briefings. Maybe you do have to show up.
But Mitt Romney spoke first, and that was the story the media covered.
It made little mention of how the Justice Department found and outed the anonymous American supposedly “responsible” for all this in just two days but, after looking for two years, still can’t find out who authorized Fast And Furious within their own ranks. It found no fault with the president returning to his real duties – campaigning and fundraising – after he’d devoted just an hour to the most significant security threat of his administration. Had a fiction writer scripted the media’s coverage even they wouldn’t have had the nerve to be so brazen as to attempt something so corrupt.
Now, the violence is spreading, and the president has no idea how to react. He’s sinking in concrete, campaigning and fundraising while the Middle East burns. But he thinks Mitt Romney spoke too soon? That’s it somehow a gaffe that Romney grasped the implications and the outrage of the situation a full workday before the president could be bothered even to release a statement? That’s somehow a Romney gaffe, but the President being uncertain if Egypt is our ally or not barely registers?
President Obama has learned well from great propagandists in the past: When the chips are down, invent a phony outrage to distract the public.
Follow the pattern:
As more stories of violence and dismissed warnings come in, more criticism of Romney comes out.
As our credit is downgraded again, more criticism of Romney comes out.
As the Federal Reserve announces plans to print $40 billion a month in a third attempt at “quantitative easing” to right the president’s broken economy, more criticism of Romney comes out.
No matter what happens, no matter how detached our president gets from the job he seeks to keep for four more years … no matter how many people die…we still haven’t seen enough of Mitt Romney’s tax returns.
That’s how sick the media has gotten.
Does the president defend our freedom? No. He asks YouTube to review the video to see if it violates the user agreement and can be taken down. Isn’t it amazing how the first instinct of liberals in any situation is to lionize extremists abroad and censor our speech at home? YouTube, showing a strong commitment to the Constitution than the man who swore an oath to “preserve, protect and defend” it, said it wouldn’t remove this horribly produced and acted Z-movie. Good for them standing up for the First Amendment. Bad for the media for trying to re-elect a man who turns his back on the very principle that protects its very existence.
The president has not acted like a president in this crisis, he’s acted more like a spoiled child told for the first time to eat his vegetables. Everything else he’s faced in office – abysmal economic data, the 2010 election, the unpopularity of his actions and policies – could be spun or somehow parsed to create whatever new data-metric reality he wanted because his media mouthpieces were only too happy to spread it.
But those events didn’t have smoke, fire, video and a body count the world can’t easily ignore.
The media’s spin will work on idiots, but the rape of reality can’t and won’t work on anyone with more IQ points than teeth. People, Americans, YOU, need to spend time every day between now and the election talking to anyone with at least one working ear who hasn’t yet decided how to vote and explain to them what is really happening. Donating money is great. Planning to vote yourself is key. But spreading the word to those open to hearing it and making sure they cast an educated vote is crucial.
Democrats don’t want voters to be educated or informed … thus the fight over voter ID laws. They want you to eat your gruel, take your medicine and re-elect the president because he knows more about what’s better for you than you do. With so many Americans now suckling the government teat, that easy message has a receptive and large audience. We have to be larger this November or our nation surely will be smaller in the future.

Critics Question Timing of Obama Campaign Tweets

FoxNews ^ | September 15, 2012 |

President Obama and his re-election team marked the anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks and events related to the killing of four Americans abroad that day with a slate of official and somber events. But they also took to Twitter for some campaign business on both days.

"The election is in eight weeks. Sign up to volunteer," reads the first tweet, on Wednesday, the 11th anniversary of the deadly attacks, from @BarackObama.

Obama intentionally destabilizing the Middle East!

American Thinker ^ | 9/16/2012 | Karin McQuillan

The answer, of course, is both incompetence and ideology. Muddle-headed ideologues of the left, such as our president, want America to be brought down to size. They truly believe that violent jihadi hate-groups can be tamed by appeasement, because the evil parties are Israel and America. So Obama helps depose Mubarak and Gaddafi, knowing they will be replaced by Islamic supremacists. He tells Israel they are on their own, we didn't really mean it about being allies. He blocks attempts to prevent a nuclear Iran, even by economic sanctions, because he doesn't like American shows of force and thinks we can live with a nuclear Iran. We lived with a nuclear Soviet Union, didn't we? Are we against Arabs, that we think they shouldn't have nuclear weapons, too? It sounds like a joke, but it isn't.
