Obama Getting Off Easy (Letter to Editor)

Washington Observer-Reporter ^ | September 19, 2012 | Bill Northrop

Let’s get this straight. We have four Americans dead, including an ambassador, embassies around the world under attack, the Arab Spring turning to winter, a deadly enemy who threatens the United States and Israel on the verge of getting a nuclear bomb, Syria in civil war, Iraq and Iran and Syria allied, tensions between China and Japan in the Far East, abysmal world economic conditions, a stalled U.S. economy with the only solutions offered being more of the same, gasoline at nearly $4 a gallon, and a president who takes off for a fundraiser in Las Vegas, and you criticize presidential candidate Mitt Romney in a Sept. 14 editorial because he expresses outrage at the immediate U.S. response to the attack on our Egyptian embassy?
If that sounds lopsided, it’s because it is. The Sept. 14 editorial was the sixth out of the last 16 of your editorials to take a shot at Romney or Republicans or Republican sympathizers. During the entire time, teflon Prez escapes without a negative or even critical comment.
Besides those issues I mentioned in my first graph, how about these apparently non-commentable-on topics: Obama’s refusal to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanayhu, because of a campaign scheduling problem that includes Obama’s appearance on “The Late Show With David Letterman”; Obama’s willingness to meet with the Muslim Brotherhood instead; Vice President Joe Biden’s joking about his being a Middle East expert as the Middle East crumbles; Obama’s skipping full security briefings almost half the time . . .
