Romney aide says Obama diminishes presidency!

A top aide to Mitt Romney slashed at President Obama and his reelection team, saying Friday that their campaign tactics are cheapening the presidency.

“They’ve gone from what started out as petty distortions and untruths to unbelievable exaggerations that diminish the office of president and insult the American people,” Eric Fehrnstrom, a Romney senior advisor, told reporters gathered at campaign headquarters. “I don’t think a world-champion limbo dancer could get any lower than the Obama campaign right now.”
Fehrnstrom was referring to a dust-up over an advertisement that implies that Romney was responsible for a woman’s death. The ad features a steelworker who lost his health insurance when he was laid off and whose wife was later diagnosed with end-stage cancer. Romney was head of Bain when it invested in the steel firm, but not when the man was laid off or when his wife died.
The ad was created by a "super PAC" supporting Obama’s reelection, not the president’s campaign. But the campaign ran into trouble because they denied any knowledge of the man and his story, and then it was revealed that they featured the man in an ad and on a conference call earlier this year.
“When you start running ads accusing your opponent of killing people, then you have lost your credibility,” Fehrnstrom said.
