Obama's Liberal Fascism

"Fascism is a religion of the state. It assumes the organic unity of the body politic and longs for a national leader attuned to the will of the people. It is totalitarian in that it views everything as political and holds that any action by the state is justified to achieve the common good. It takes responsibility for all aspects of life, including our health and well-being, and seeks to impose uniformity of thought and action, whether by force or through regulation and social pressure. Everything, including the economy and religion, must be aligned with its objectives. Any rival identity is part of the 'problem' and therefore defined as the enemy. I will argue that contemporary American liberalism embodies all of these aspects of fascism."
- "Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left, From Mussolini to the Politics of Change," by Jonah Goldberg.

Goldberg's masterpiece is required reading if you ever hope to understand modern America. "Liberal Fascism" was published in 2009, the same year Barack Obama took the presidential oath of office and Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid presided over the Democratic Party's super-majority in Congress. 2009 should be remembered as the high-water mark of liberal fascism.
"Never judge a book by its cover," goes the old saying. In the case of Goldberg's "Liberal Fascism," the cover says it all: A bright yellow happy-face takes up much of the book's jacket. Where the banal icon's nose should be sits a hastily scribbled Hitlerian mustache.
The road to serfdom is paved with the good intentions of those who would: "save the planet"; fight against "income inequality"; force a so-called free people into government-run health care, which uses the power of the state to coerce religious institutions to violate their sacred doctrines and undermine First Amendment protections in support of liberal fascism's barbaric ritual - the human sacrifice of abortion.
Behind the banal, bumper sticker platitudes of modern American fascism stand the jack-booted enforcers of the state. The "common good" is no longer defined as the interaction of free individuals working in cooperation to achieve desired ends. Instead, government czars use regulation and tax policies like whips to drive the draft animals that pull the wagon of state.
Mitt Romney, as inoffensive a politician as ever came down the pike, is painted by liberal fascists as an enemy of the American people and state. His crimes? He is rich and his income is derived from investing in America. His capital gains returns are subject to a lower tax rate (about 18%) that shields him from paying the high taxes exacted on wage earners.
Romney also headed a private equity firm dedicated to making money and not "spreading the wealth around" - like Obama's "investments" in state-directed green energy. Two billion tax dollars (some of them Romney's) got "spread around" at the solar-panel manufacturer Solyndra to no effect.
To liberal fascists, Romney's success at Bain Capital is criminal while the dismal economic failures of Obama are touted as praiseworthy triumphs.
"... We've tried their [the enemies of the state] plan, we've tried our plan, and it worked," said Obama at a recent Nuremberg-like campaign rally. Unlike Germany's 1930s fascists, Obama is still honing his big lie skills.
The liberal fascist Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, on the other hand, has the big lie down pat. "He [Romney] didn't pay taxes for 10 years!" Reid told the Huffington Post, "Now, do I know that that's true? Well, I'm not certain. But obviously he can't release those tax returns. How would it look?"
Of course, Reid was careful not to say Romney evaded taxes (in the fashion of Obama's Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner).
A lead editorial in The Detroit News came to Reid's aid, "Mr. Romney's denials very carefully avoided using the word, income. And that's the issue here. Extremely wealthy multimillionaires like Mitt Romney have an army of lawyers and accountants who can exploit the loopholes in the tax code to avoid paying any income tax whatsoever. Indeed, the IRS posted a list of people who are much richer than Mitt Romney who managed to pay zero income taxes on incomes much larger than his."
Romney's crime is not evading taxes, but that he won't render to liberal fascists more than the law allows.
"If we consider how greatly he has sinned against the masses in the course of the centuries," said the man Harry Reid most resembles, "how he has squeezed and sucked the blood again and again; if furthermore, we consider how the people gradually learned to hate him for this, and ended up by regarding his existence as nothing but punishment of Heaven for the other peoples, we can understand how hard this shift must be for the Jew," wrote Adolf Hitler in his book "Mein Kampf."
The scapegoats for anti-Semitic German fascists were successful European Jews. The scapegoats for America's resentful liberal fascist anti-successites, are, well, successful American Jews.
"...Republicans are using [Obama's lukewarm support for] Israel as an excuse, what they really want are tax cuts for the wealthy," said House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, "that's how they're [Jews] being exploited," said Pelosi in a television interview.
According to liberal fascist Pelosi, Republican support for Israel is code for a targeted tax cut for money-grubbing Jews. For Nancy, this explains the generous financial contributions of wealthy Jews to pro-Romney super PACs.
In his 1934 book "The Coming American Revolution," New Republic magazine editor George Soule (a supporter of Franklin Roosevelt) said of the New Deal, "We are trying out the economics of Fascism without having suffered all its social or political ravages."
It took 78 years, but the "social and political ravages" of America's liberal fascism is making its mark in the presidential election of 2012. It has stripped off its banal, happy-face mask and is showing its fangs.
Resentful German fascists relieved European Jews of their possessions, from masterworks of art down to their gold fillings. America's "You didn't build that" liberal fascists hope to better the instruction.
